Chapter 67: Fatal Injury

Hank's height immediately shortened to eight feet but he still towered above Jonathan.

His arms enlarged to the size of tree trunks and his body became brawny and muscular. The most shocking transformation though, were his hands.

From wrist to fingertip, his hands had enlarged to two meters, making have ridiculously humongous hands!

With a wide grin, he charged forward to clash with Jonathan, his enormous arms flailing beside him.

Jonathan also took off to face him.

This time, his speed was far higher than it had been in his black granite form.

The black granite form was the hardest but also the most inflexible and stiff. It compromised his movement for defense but now his grey granite form was a mix of the two, granting him easier mobility.

Using the power of his body, he dodged Hank's incoming fist and rammed into Hank with his body but Hank only slid a meter backwards, causing the crowd to gasp.

"Even after making his height shorter, he's still so strong!" Brianna gasped.

"It's his power. Giants have insane strength, defense and balance so it's not surprising that such an attack barely rattled him," Austin said.

The others nodded in agreement.

Hank's power allowed him to transform into a giant so naturally, he would have access to all the powers giants wielded.

On the other hand, if giants had any limitations, it would apply to him also.

In the arena, the fight continued.

Using the momentum gained from slamming into Hank, Jonathan transformed himself into a slab of granite and rammed into Hank again.

This time, Hank caught him firmly with his giant sized fists and began to squeeze.

The grey granite slab immediately became sharp and spiky, causing Hank to let go of it in annoyance.

Jonathan immediately morphed into a humanoid form and took advantage of Hank's momentary distraction to distance himself from him and shoot small chips of granite like bullets!

Hank reacted immediately, using his enormous hand to cover his body, blocking the granite chips!

Still firing away, Jonathan morphed into a granite pillar with a sharp pointy tip and without hesitation, he rammed himself into Hank's open hand!

Because Hank's huge hands blocked his vision, he failed to react in time and Jonathan the pillar of granite got embedded in his palm!

"Aaaarggh!" Hank roared in pain and fury.

His red haired billowed from his roar and he ripped the pillar out of his palm. Blood leaked out like a stream, causing everyone to gasp in shock.

No blood had been spilled in the ranking battles yet so this was novel to the first years!

"That must hurt," Damien observed, shaking his head.

"Won't he bleed out at this point?" Brianna covered her mouth in horror, gazing wide eyed at Hank's blood which was flowing to the ground.

"I don't think so. Someone with such a wonderful power will have strong vitality," Mindy mused.

"Yeah. It will clot up in no time but probably leave a nasty scar," Zane added.

Meanwhile, in the arena, Hank glared furiously at Jonathan who was now in his humanoid state. "What the fuck did you do to me?" he asked.

"Made you bleed," Jonathan replied without a tinge of emotion.

Hank narrowed his eyes. He knew his body's capabilities much better than anyone. Even when he had clutched Jonathan in a viselike grip and Jonathan morphed himself into a spike slab of granite, his palm had suffered little damage.

With the strength of his body, someone like Jonathan was incapable of piercing his palm so deeply for his blood to flow like that.

Just what had Jonathan done to him?

"If you don't tell me what you did right now I am going to beat the shit out of you," Hank said dangerously.

"Stop threatening me. Which rule states that I must disclose my trump cards to my opponents?" stony faced Jonathan replied.

"Very well. You asked for this," Hank growled and immediately his height increased to twenty-five meters!

With a roar he hurled Jonathan like a ball.

Jonathan flew like a missile and immediately crashed into the barrier!

Within two steps, Hank was on him. Not giving him any time to recover, he smashed his uninjured fist into Jonathan's back, causing him to keel over.

Hank didn't hold back at all and unleashed the full wrath of his punches on Jonathan, causing the arena to become silent.

This wasn't a normal fight anymore but a grudge fight; a big one at that.

Hank's left hand was still bleeding profusely. It didn't take quantum physics to know that Jonathan had gone out of his way to grievously injure Hank.

Body path awakened naturally had strong regenerative powers and Hank, with a power like giant transformation would obviously be able to quickly recover from injuries.

Even if he was still injured, the flow of blood should have stopped by now but not only did it not stop, it was increasing instead!

Hank had long turned pale but he vented all his fury on Jonathan.

Huge cracks appeared on the granite body of Jonathan and dark blood trickled from his mouth and nose.

Had it not been for his tough defenses, he would have long turned into mush from Hank's rampage.

"Hank, what happened to you?" Frank watched on worriedly even as his brother turned paler and paler from blood loss.

"I think it's some form of poison. Only poison can hurt a monster like Hank that bad," Lyon observed.

Frank narrowed his eyes, his gaze never leaving Hank.

Hank came to a stop in the middle of the arena and began to wheeze and pant.

His face turned a sickly grey and his eyes had lost their light.

Hank suddenly coughed out dark red blood and without warning, he fell to the ground unconscious.

Damien stood up in worry and gasps of shock filled the arena.

"Due to the rules of the fight, Jonathan wins!" the instructor declared.

The Ranking list glowed brightly as Hank and Jonathan's positions switched. Now Jonathan was ranked eighth and Hank ranked ninth!

The whole Colosseum was in an uproar.

In the arena, Jonathan's stony face cracked to give out a wicked smile even as he groggily got to his feet.

Despite his victory, he had clearly paid the price with his body as he also coughed out blood.

Frank and Lyon immediately made their way into the arena, hurrying over to Hank's side. Medical personnel with pods and bots were also rushing in to see what had happened to Hank.

"Hank? Hank? Can you hear me, Hank?" Frank kept shaking his brother frantically but Hank didn't respond.

His face clouded with rage and he rose up to look at Jonathan. "What did you do to him?!"

Jonathan's smirk widened and he started to hobble out of the arena.

Frank's red hair lit up with red flames and his eyes burned with fury. Gauntlets of flames covered his fists and blazing meteors quickly formed around him.

In five steps he crossed the distance between him and Jonathan. His fiery fist swinging out to deliver a devastating punch as the meteors behind him launched themselves at Jonathan but the Instructor interfered, firmly blocking his path.

He unleashed his domain and directly suppressed the meteors and flames.

"You can't attack him without issuing a challenge first!" the Instructor warned.

Jonathan took advantage of the Instructor's interference to immediately escape from the arena.

Frank's hair returned to normal but his scowl still remained.

He returned to Hank's side where Lyon and the medical personnel were frantically checking on Hank.

"Will he be fine?" Frank asked worriedly.

"I'm afraid not. He's been poisoned," the medical personnel replied apologetically.

Hank had shrunk but to his normal size but the grievous injury still remained. There was a huge gaping hole in the middle of his palm which exposed his bones clearly.

His skin had turned a sickly grey and his arm had become heavy, like granite.

"We've barely stabilized his injury. We need to take him to the medical center," the medical personnel warned.

He and his companions quickly put Hank in a recovery pod and hurried out of the arena. Frank and Lyon closely followed behind them.

"Who knew the ranking battle could be this treacherous?" Brianna gasped, watching on as the recovery pod speedily left the arena.

Damien was absentminded though, his gaze focused on the leaving figures of Frank and Lyon.

He couldn't help but be worried. After all, Hank had treated him very well. Now that something had happened, he had to find out if he could help.

Making up his mind, he rose up from his seat. "I'm going after them."

Mindy and the others watched Damien as he rushed after Lyon and Frank.

Meanwhile in his room, Liu Shandian's eyes narrowed. "Since when did Vargas gain such a power?"
