Chapter 2: MARRIED!

Raelle and Teddy's eyes instantly went wide as they were taken aback when they heard Liam's words.

Liam had a serious and stoic expression on his face. He didn't want the girl before him to assume he was joking. His eyes were a mix of topaz brown and gold, and a hint of stubbornness and determination could be seen flashing from their depths.

Liam, noticing the awkwardness in the air, decided to explain a little. "You see, just like you, I need to get married today as I have already promised my grandfather. But, unfortunately, the woman I was supposed to get married to chose fame over me. Still, I want to fulfill my promise to my grandfather."

Raelle was unable to speak as she listened to him speak. Something in her was pushing her to agree to his request.

Thinking his request was too much and too forward, he wanted to speak, when...

The lady sniffled and wiped her tears. A smile forming on full and luscious lips, she said, "Alright. Let's do it."

Liam, at first thought he didn't hear well, but looking into her eyes, he could see the solid determination.

Raelle smiled as she looked at the stairs they were standing on for a while. After a second, she raised her head, this time, a cold glint replaced the determination in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Teddy, Liam's assistant was shocked and speechless.

What on God's Earth was happening here?

He couldn't believe his boss would decide to marry a 'random girl' just to fulfill his promise to his grandfather.

*sighs

The marriage registration went very smoothly and half an hour later, Liam and Raelle had successfully obtained their marriage certificates.

The ride home was silent as Teddy kept stealing glances at his boss who was engrossed in looking at the marriage certificate. From the rearview mirror, he could see Liam lost in his thoughts as his fingers gently rubbed the red cover of the marriage certificate.

'What on Earth happened at the Civil Affairs Bureau today?' Teddy asked himself as he returned his focus to the road before him.

At the Wilson's Mansion...

The car stopped in the driveway and after handing the keys to the driver, Teddy walked behind his boss.

Teddy sighed as he looked at his boss who was walking nonchalantly.

He still couldn't come out of the shock of seeing his boss get married to a random girl.

As they got closer to the drawing room, they could hear the old man's soft but energetic voice.

"That idiot! If he comes back to this house without his wife, I'd skin him alive."

Teddy instantly recoiled at those who, knowing the old man was crazy. He wouldn't go in there. "Boss, can I wait out here for you?"

Liam didn't reply, instead, he just entered the room and closed the door behind him, leaving Teddy outside.

But Teddy wasn't bothered at all, he was in fact, happy.

"You idiot! Where's your wife? Why did you return so soon? Oh, I can't believe the grandson I suffered to raise so tirelessly is so cruel to me. He won't even get married to fulfill my last wishes!" The old man said dramatically when he saw Liam enter the room alone.

Old Master Wilson, Liam's grandfather, was the one who raised Liam after his parents passed away in an accident. As such, Liam could never go against anything the old man said.

Like today, he even got married to a girl he just met to make his grandfather happy.

*sigh

Liam sighed and walked further into the room. Without a word, he placed the red cover booklet on the table before the old man.

Old Master Wilson blinked his eyes as he picked up the booklet before him. "What's this?"

"Grandpa, I got married. Just like you wanted.

"Your granddaughter-in-law will be here soon. Let me know if you're satisfied with her when she arrives." Liam said solemnly.

A shoe was sent flying to Liam's head immediately. But, living with his grandfather for years, he had known all his tricks so he was able to catch the shoe before it hit him.

"Punk! She's your wife! Why should I be the one who would asses her?" Old Master Wilson said through gritted teeth.

Straining his neck towards the door, " Where's she? I want to have a good look at her?"

"Grandpa she's on her way. Get some rest. When she comes, I'll bring her up to you. Please?"

Liam knew how stubborn the old man was. Liam knew he was a replica of his grandfather, so he could only plead and hope for the old man to listen.

Old Master Wilson's eyes twinkled with suspicion before he let Liam help him up. "If I find out you forced her to marry you or paid for this certificate, I'd kill you brat!"

Nodding, Liam said "Yes Grandpa. You can verify them tomorrow."

"I will! I will!"

Leaving his grandfather to his personal servant and friend, Ralph, Liam walked out of the room.

Seeing his come out, Teddy rushed to where he was. "How did it go?"

"Well."

Just well? Well wasn't the answer Teddy was looking for. So..

"Did he accept it?"

Stopping in his tracks, Liam responded, "For now."

Saying this, they made their way to the study.

Even if it was getting late, working was the only thing that could get his mind off the events of the day.

The door opened and Raelle walked into Kim's house. In her hand was the red certificate of marriage. She wanted to show Kim that she had gotten married even without him so, she hurried to his home.

As soon as she entered the house, she was shocked by what she saw.

Was she hallucinating?

In her eyes, she could see a man and woman kissing and making out.

Raelle dug her nails into her clenched fists, trying to wake up from this dream, but it wasn't wasn't working. She was devastated to find it was reality.com.

Stuck to the floor like one who had been glued to the marble floor, Raelle stared at them with a blank look.

Did Kim ditch her for Claire? Heck!!!

"E-elle? What are you doing here?"
