Chapter 12: Accepting the fact he is Karna
The day was as normal as it could be except along with waves of bhagirathi there is a child flowing in a basket. Usually in such circumstances the child ought to cry but if anyone could see the child he was just enjoying the ride. The child wasn't ordinary nor did he belong to the Era. Yes the child was keenly aware of where he is, how and why? From the moment he opened his eyes he became aware of everything because the child remembered his previous life which was supposedly 13,000 years later. When he opened his eyes he could see a teenage girl suppose to be his mother , Kunti. After she abandoned hin in River Ganga.
He of course understood where he was or in which era where he was and who he was? He was in Dwaparyug and reborn as his favourite character suryaputra Karna with a system due to Mahadev boon ,an unfortunate man whom everyone took advantage throughout and now it was one of that moment when his birth mother, the Princess of kuntibhoja and would be queen of Hastinapur, mother of the infamous Pandavas and sole proprietor and reason for biggest war in history is going to flow him in river because she has in her curiosity evoked the boon of Rishi Durvasa, many in his time considered her as pious figure, a helpless widow and great mother of Pandavas but he did completely agree with the notions. Wearing beautiful sky blue sari which look much better from fashionable sari of his time and covered in jewellery. A lot could be stopped by her but she didn't do it. It's not that she doesn't have good qualities but when it came to put an actual use of it she didn't. Especially in case of Karna as destiny did a cruel joke or most humourless prank with him. He became Karna. Not that he was complaining instead was positively thrilled and as a matter of fact too understand her just that if she abandon him , he won't be able to meet the person who truly raised Karna. Ones whose name Karna wore as a badge of honour throughout his life.
He was then put to basket and Kunti prayed to almighty to protect him. Harsh Sun Rays fell at the shore and his kavach emerged, he understands it was anger and helplessness of his celestial father Suryadev, he just looked at him unbothered because he can, perk of being Suryaputra. It is not that he didn't blame Suryadev because he did help the enemy of his sons several times but knew he was just and impartial. It was the reason he was prayed by every being be it human, asur, rakshas etc and his quality was automatically passed down to his own son as he was part of him. Along with it he also provided kavacha and kundala made of amrit to his son.
"Karna" himself was the most mysterious and controversial character of Mahabharata but he himself couldn't help but love the guy. His direct gaze calmed down Suryadev.
He then started his journey thinking of his previous life and life ahead, in his previous life he was a normal human being with a moderate background. He belongs to a scholar family hence his grandparents took care of most of his childhood as his father and mother were busy. His father was a researcher of ancient texts while mother was a professor who took the profession of translating ancient language to common language courtesy to them he was quite good at the language and finally felt its benefit. His grandparents were very well educated too which was very difficult as his country was struggling for independence then. Even so his grandfather was a proud freedom fighter and grandmother was a housewife though equally literate. He was brought up in between books till he was five, there was notion at that time that keeping mahabharata at home could lead to dispute but such stereotypes and superstition were not followed in his home from his childhood his grandmother read Ramayan, Ramcharitmanas,bhagwad Geeta, Mahabharata, veda, puran etc now it couldn't be guaranteed to be authentic as it was thousand and thousands years ago incident but one could learn from whatever remained and improve himself. His grandfather did yoga Asana and meditation and always made sure he accompanied him while performing that. So yes he had a very happy and fulfilling childhood. When he grew up a little more for physical exercise, outer circular activity and self defence he was enrolled in various camps like music, painting, dancing but his most favourite was Martial arts especially Kalaritipuu , no he wasn't from a southern Indian ancestry but it was job of their parents that led him to spend his most of life there. He had good education in schools, college and even had a degree before enrolling for army where got selected for Marcos . He entered the field of marine time war and climbing to the ladder of commanders but in between he lost his grandparents and parents, they died natural death. He never did marry because simply he wasn't interested or never found anyone he could feel was his soulmate so after having a fulfilling life until during rescue mission he died. He has no complaints he had a good life, great family, happy childhood, great education, successful life and not so peaceful death. What's more one could ask.
But he was now in a predicament, he was Karna now, the unsung hero and flawed good man as history seems to remember. As he had to accept he was Karna and Karna was him and had to decide, how the story of this Karna would proceed now that he had system.

System explains everything in detail but the one who is supposed to listen all this long has gone to the dreamland. So all this information fell on deaf ears of Karna.
Few hours passed by. Surprisingly, even in the raging flow of the river basket was stable, Floating without any problem.
*Growls*
Karna's sleep is broken by growling in his stomach. He just relise that hours have past and the last meal by his so-called mother has long digested . So he didn't eaten anything from the moment other that meal he eaten after he was born.
"Hey, There are still a few days until I reach Hastinapur kingdom. With this rate I might die out of hunger here before I can reach civilization."
Karna becomes anxious. New born baby's can only survive without food for only 24 hours to 48 hours. After that it is hard to say, Not to mention the newborn but even an adult man without food and water can't survive this long journey.
"How can original Karna as a baby be able to bear that pain?"
Karna thought about it, he as a demi-god has a consumption needs way beyond of a normal humans. If this goes on like this then he will die either by hunger or by a thirst or atleast go close to it. For newborn Karna to suffer that kind of pain is impossible even imagine for him. Surprisingly for him , he had bought 'Photosyntesis ' skill due which he is less hungry because he can subsequently convert sunlight into energy to keep him replenish or else he would have been much more pain .
But even then what making him even more helpless is that he as a baby can't even ask for help from anyone as he can't speak yet. So he can only cry hoping someone might hear it and save him from this predicament.
"Why are you crying my child? Are you hungry or are those jewellers hurting you?"
Suddenly a very motherly concern voice came out of nowhere.
Karan's crying abruptly stopped. He didn't understand what voice said as he didn't know the language spoken by the other party but he did feel the concern in it.
He started hovering his hopeful innocent eyes everywhere but he didn't find anyone's figure.
"Am I hallucinating because of hunger?"
Karna doubted himself, After all that voice sounded as someone speaking next to him but now there is no figure at all.
*Growls*
His stomach demanded food again even after replenish his energy , Karna's eyes became hopeless even being an adult in his past life he could stop and he again started crying even loudly as this is the only thing he can do for now.
"Hey so you are just hungry, Don't worry I will feed you."
That voice sounded again but this time Karna ignored it . In his opinion his mind was playing tricks with him. If not, how can he not understand a single word of other party? Not noticing the subtitles.
But this time changes started happening on the river surface, The stable basket started to shake uncontrollably as if the next moment it will topple over.
"What is happening?"
Karna startled, he doesn't know why this sudden changes is happening in the river but he knows one thing, If he falls down from the basket then his situation will be worse than death.
As he can't swim because of his small body and he can't die because his armour won't let him. So he will continuously drown over and over again until someone intervenes. Just thinking of that sent shivers into his body.
"Don't be afraid I will not let anything happen to you."
Just as the voice fell, the river surface water rose up in the shape of a human silhouette.
Then water fell and a very beautiful woman with godly charms came out. Her eyes contain an infinite tenderness, Motherly love radiating from her whole body. She gives a feeling as no matter who comes in front of her she will shower them with all of her motherly love.
Even when she is this beautiful, No one in front of her can raise evil thoughts as she herself wipes out these thoughts by her mere presence.
*Sob*
Karna looked at the woman and was stunned and tears filled his eyes.
At this moment he just felt like emptying his heart out to this woman. He felt like he was in front of his mother from his previous life .Tell her his suffering, tell her the pain he felt when he lost his mother, tell her how he survived all those years and tell her how he missed her . He felt that no matter if it's good or bad she will listen to him. She will accept him as it is.
"Hehe, Did shaking scare you?"
The woman bend forward and picked up the Karna in her arms, She concernedly asked him, while carrying him towards the shore. Unbelieving thing was that even she going through the river, There was not bit of resistance of water to her as the river was part of her body, Even basket moving with her ignoring flow of water.
After crossing, She sat on shore taking Karna in her arms. She used other hand and lovingly wiped the tear stains from his cheeks, While other hand firmly held him, giving him a sense of security.

Karna felt her loving touch and got a sense of protection. This is the first time he experienced these emotions after long time . He was already close to breaking out and this action of hers became the final straw. He burst out crying as he felt like he finally found his salvation. He didn't need to hide his pain in front of her.
"Why did you start crying more putra ? Are you that hungry? Wait, I just give you milk to drink."
Women become anxious seeing karna burst out crying. She quickly flipped her hands in intention of summoning the milk for him but a strange thing happened.
"That's weird, Why is my power not working?"
Woman confusedly looked at her hand not understanding why her divine power was not working.

Karna's intensity becomes louder and louder. Woman became more anxious, She again tried to use her divine power but it still didn't work.
In the end seeing the child crying so much her heart softened, She held Karna close to her bosom and started feeding him her own milk.
"Uwah- uhm"
Karna was lost in expressing his own pain. So he didn't realise what happened until sweet nectar like milk came into his mouth.
He became confused for a moment and then became awkward but his drinking never stopped. He couldn't help it, he was really hungry and drinking a few sips provoked his hunger even more. So he was drinking subconsciously, his mouth gulping on its own and he somehow never felt he was doing something bad.
After all there is nothing evil or bad between a mother feeding her child. Even if he is embarrassed.
As for how this woman suddenly became his mother? Because system notification rang in his mind.

Evolutionary body frame work :Allow the user to Modify any part of body to possible highest peak. Only can be used after host reach a certain age or level.
Karna was stunned after hearing the system notification. But not only because of rewards but because of name system mentioned .He never thought that the woman in front of him was Goddess Ganga. But this news erased all of his worries. After all, if he is drinking Goddess Ganga's Milk then there is really nothing wrong with it.
So he stops over thinking and drinks as much as he can. This fortune and blessing he might not ever get again. After all, even her biological son Bhishma or Devrath did not have this fortune.
*Burp*
Karna finally became full and burped in satisfaction. His endless hunger finally calmed down, As his stomach got full he again went back to sleep. At this age he really can't do much other than eating and sleeping. The comfort and sense of security in goddess arms is also the reason why he fell asleep this quickly.
Devi Ganga reached out and gently wiped the stain from his mouth. She had a tender smile on her lips.
Then she looked down at Karna and flabbergasted. She saw that boy in her arms become extremely beautiful even the beauty of Sun and Moon was eclipsed in front of him.
Before she can compare his beauty to the sun but at this moment ,she only has one person in her mind she can compare him to.
Mohini, The goddess of enchantment. The only female avatar of lord Vishnu. She stunned for a moment realising this fact.
Then she noticed his constitution and she couldn't help to become flabbergasted again. This constitution only appears once in each yug. No one is able to defeat the possessor of this constitution on equal footing and they are considered invincible in the same warrior class.
Only son of lord Shiva and goddesses Parvati, God of War kartikeya, Commander of God's army known to possess this constitution. This is enough to show value of this constitution.
"How is this possible? Just drinking a little milk you have this big change, Putra ?"
She held Karna in her arms and asked with a very happy smile. As mother to all, she will be happy for her children's improvement. But her face rapidly changed and worry appeared on her face.
"No, I can't let him stay in a mortal world. If he stays here with his charm and divinity, Will to target on him for all those ill minded people. Even demons might come to get him."
She thought of it and made up her mind.
"I will take you to Swarg (Heaven), There you can be safe and even learn from gods."
Goddess Ganga thought of it. Although you can't bring mortals in the Swarg, there are always some expectations, like her son Bhisma.
So she can still make some exceptions for the child in her hand. She stood up and looked gloatingly at the opposite flow of the river.
'Will she vomit blood if she finds out about this?'
Goddess couldn't help but to think about the woman who abandoned a child in her stream. If not for maintaining flow due to lord Shiva order , she would have long began search for women who abandoned the child and drowned the women in her stream.
"Forget it, it doesn't matter. After all, she doesn't have any right over him. She gave up the moment she abandoned him. From now on he will be my son."
Goddess shook her head and didn't think much of it.She gently covered the sleeping Karna with her aanchal and just as she lifted her feet to enter heaven .Thunder rumbled in the sky.
*Rumble*
*Boom*
Sky thunder fell directly just little away from the goddess and a figure of handsome man in silver coloured futurestic body armour and magnificent crown emerged from it. This man had majesty like a king around him.
"Sorry Devi (Goddess) but you are not allowed to take that child into heaven."
