Chapter 4: First Blood
*Slash*
My shortsword smoothly slices the caterpillar monster with ease.
It's feels so smooth, almost as easy as cutting milk pudding with a sharp knife.
The caterpillar is not dead even after its head have been separated from its body.
It's still wriggling and squirming with all the life that is still have in its cleaved body.
The other seven caterpillars, after seeing one of their fellow is cut down to two separate parts....
Instead of running away, they gathered around the caterpillar which is still struggling with its last breath.
And then.... They start to chow down and eat their own kind alive.
What the..... Those caterpillars looks so cute and chubby, with their healthy green colour they can easily becomes a mascot for kids show.
But monster are monsters, beneath that cute appearance, they're actually so vicious that they start to cannibalize their own friends that is getting cut down in front of them.
I guess those insect's brains can't fathom the logic that soon it will be their turns to be cut down.
Oh well, it's a good thing though.
Seeing how those cute monsters actually cannibalize their own kind on the first sight makes me feel less guilty to kill them for completing my quest.
*Slash slash zab zab jleb jleb jleb*
With seven consecutive cuts, I cleanly cuts down the remaining seven monsters.
One Cut Kill One Monster.
So far so good, I only need to search two more and I am done with this phase.
Thinking like that, I started walking to a clear path in the middle of the forest.
I think this clear path is for traveling people to pass over?
I see clearly that the grass growing in that path looks like they're often get trampled, there's even a lot of wheel marks on the ground, indicating that some vehicles are often running over this path.....
And so, I follow that clear path in hope that I will get to a City soon.
It's not even 10 minutes walking and I already encounter another monsters.
There are 2 of the Green Caterpillar monsters and 3 new monsters.
The new monsters looks like a pink round blob of slime.
Huh? They seem to have a pair of cute black eyes and a mouth.
Wait, those things are Poring from Ragnarok Online, right?
First Fabre, now Poring.
Is this forest made from Ragnarok series? What will we have next?
A fly as big as my head, Chonchon?
A chick bringing around its eggshell on it's head, Picky?
A green poisonous Poring, Poporing?
An orange Poring, Drops?
The thieving cockroaches, Thief Bug?
Fabre's Pupa and it's evolution as butterfly, Creamy?
Will I am thinking such ridiculous things, my feet immediately started running and my hand swings my sword non stop, cutting all the monsters cleanly in one cut.
*Ding*
A clear sound like a bell ringing in my head.

The sound of drumrolls play out finished by a clear ringing sound.

I follow the instruction from the System and look at a new item in my Inventory.
Skill Card: Summon Navi - Roll.EXE
Description: Use this skill card by tapping it on your forehead to get a Skill: Summon Navi - Roll.EXE. The card crumbles to dust after use, but the skill that has been learned will be permanently yours.
Summon Navi - Roll.EXE
Description: Summon a Net Navi, Roll.EXE from Megaman.EXE and Megaman Battle Network Series. When used, the world will go dim and the time seems to be stopped. Then, Roll.EXE will appear in front of you and attack your foe(s) three times by shooting her arrows straight to their heart(s), each arrow she shot is as strong as 120% of your strongest attack. After that, she will use a heart flash to heal a great amount of your health (18 times more effective and powerful compared to a Basic Tier Healing Spell) before leaving the battlefield. Cooldown: 15 minutes.
Good stuff! With this skill that cost nothing aside from its cooldown time, I can spam 3 quick attacks immediately and then heals my wounds every 15 minutes.
Gold Rank Rewards truly deserves to be called a Gold!
Now I wonder how much awesome the Platinum Rank Rewards is?

Megaman Battle Network Series are one of the many GameBoy Advance game franchises that I stil play even until now.
The others are Monster Rancher Advance and Pokémon series.
I have played those games since 2006 until now on 2023.
