Chapter 42: A Startling Realization.

In the midst of the grand ballroom, Isolde found herself yearning for an escape from the presence of the vampires. She couldn't bear to remain among them any longer, fearing that her own impulses might lead her into killing them which could cause problems for her.

Her attention shifted to Adrith, who was engrossed in a lively conversation with a group of nobles, seemingly oblivious to Isolde's existence. Realizing this, she discreetly distanced herself from Adrith and redirected her focus toward Maverick and Corwin.

'I must find a way to elude their watchful eyes,' she pondered.

Isolde maintained her composure and gracefully maneuvered through the crowd, subtly edging closer to the exit of the opulent ballroom. She waited for the perfect moment when Corwin and Maverick's attention momentarily wavered.
