Chapter 2: Arriving at School

The sound of a working train boomed through the nearby rocky mountains. The train's horn pierced the air with a cautionary sound, a warning to all who ventured near its path.

The train passed through various large mountains that seemed to extend so high up that they seemed to touch the blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. The train had a simple design with a match of black and white in each carriage that held many students staying in their designated seats.

The insides of the train were not like any ordinary as it had glass doors that divided parts of the train. In each cabinet of the train two couches that fit 2 people were inside of them.

This was made so the students could be more comfortable as they traveled many  hours to reach the school.

A blonde boy with beautiful hazel eyes who seemed to be at the age of 11 was seen inside one of the cabinets on the train. He was completely alone with no one around him, taking the opportunity of this he began to remember all of the things that their parents told him about their adventures in the school and overall in the magic world that he, Abbadon, was about to enter.

"I want to learn magic already!" Abbabdon thought to himself, letting out a brilliant smile that could match the sun's brilliance.

As he kicked his feet in the air whistling happily a knock was heard on the glass door of the cabinet. An old lady dressed in pink robes holding a small kart had knocked on the door.

Abbadnon opened it "Yes?"

"Oh hey, sweetheart! Do you want to buy something off my kart?"

Abbadon looked at the kart where he saw many candies that he had never seen before. With a happy smile, he replied. "I want one piece of every candy you have!"

The old lady in the pink robe smiled at the blonde boy grabbing her wand from her robe she flicked her wand and all of the candies began flying towards Abbadon.

Abbadon smiled even more as he thought to himself. "Magic is amazing!"

The old lady gently closed the glass door and kept on walking as she knocked on every door to see if any kid would buy candy from her.

The train that transported all of the students had finally arrived at the school grounds. The white and black doors slowly opened themselves and students began to unload the train.

As the students stepped outside they realized that it was already nighttime. The cold breeze clashed against them wavering their hairs and the surrounding trees.

Every single student was already dressed in the school's uniform. For girls, it was a white collared shirt alongside a tie and a gray sweater that helped with the cold breeze as well as a skirt that fell below their knees. For the boys it was relatively the same, they wore a white collared shirt alongside a tie and a gray sweater with black trousers.

A man dressed in plain gray robes with red colored hair and a beard at the height of 7'6 was looking for the first years to make sure they could be guided through the school grounds.

The man began shouting. "First years follow me!" As some of the first years began looking at the tall man they were left with in shock as they saw the tall man.

The tall man smiled at the first years and began walking, the first years followed behind.  As they followed the tall man, passing through a large gate, and began looking at their surroundings many gasped in excitement as they saw the large trees that surrounded the dirt path that they were currently walking in.

The path was lighted by bright lanterns. As they continued to walk further the tall man finally stopped walking. The first years who were talking suddenly stopped. The sound of water moving and clicking wood boomed in the air.

Then the tall man said in a demanding tone. "Everyone get inside a boat, each boat has to have at least three students and a maximum of four!."

The tall man pointed to where the boats were. Many wooden boats were floating in the lake, their graceful movement dictated by the subtle movement of the current. Students began riding each of them, Abbadon rode the one where the tall man was.

After a few minutes, they arrived in front of the school.

Silence!

Everyone was completely silent as they were currently comprehending what was happening, they had arrived at the school however the school didn't look as everyone had thought the school looked like a castle!

The tall man clapped his hands. "Well, first years it was nice to meet you, I am Trevor the beast keeper, if you have any beast-related questions feel free to ask me whenever we cross paths. I live in the hut near the forest."

Trevor walked inside the castle the first years followed behind. Trevor went in a separate direction while the first years were stopped by a beautiful lady. She was dressed in a green silk robe with golden engravings, her outfit matching her golden hair tied in a bun, and her beautiful green eyes that resembled a shining emerald.

"Welcome first years to Valhalla the school for wizards!" She said in a hushed tone however her voice sounded in everyone's head.

Everyone seemed confused but after a few seconds, they looked in front of them to see the beautiful blonde lady.

"Ahem! I am Professor Matilda. Please follow me! We will be entering the great hall, there everyone will be sorted into the houses selected by the divine orb."

The first years didn't utter a single word. Professor Matilda walked and the first years followed behind.

As they walked inside the school's castle, Abbadon couldn't help but gasp in amazement. The castle seemed like the ones talked about in the fairy tales that his mother used to read to him when he couldn't sleep.

As they continued to walk further into the castle the first years suddenly stopped as they saw a large door that had been opened. As they entered the room they were even more amazed, by the long tables that gathered all of the students of their respective houses. Each of the students that sat on the tables had a specific color of the tie. The colors were blue, red, yellow, and green.

The first years continued to follow Professor Matilda walking through the middle of the large tables. Every student looked at the first years to see who seemed interesting, as they whispered to each other. Abbadon felt extremely watched but decided to ignore that and focused on what was in front of him.

Professor Matilda continued walking but the first years had already halted their movement as they saw a man dressed in white robes with white beard and hair that resembled his age and wisdom.

He was none other than Director Orin. As he looked at the first years he seemed rather focused on a boy with dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes.

"Silence!" Director Orin shouted. Making everyone inside the great hall close their mouth instantly.

"As of today we have new students and I would like to give them a warm welcome here at Valhalla."

"Before sorting every one of the first years into their houses I would like to give a quick announcement, especially for the first years and that is; to not go inside the Dark forest.

You may be wondering, professor why is that? Well, there are many beasts roaming in the forest that do not know compassion and they shall end you as soon you come through their path. So please be careful and never enter the Dark Forest."

Orin hit a glass cup gently as he said. "Well then, may the house sorting begin!"
