Chapter 5: chapter 5

Chapter 5

In this Dragon Ball world, the truth that the strong is king resonated deeply with Lin Ke's thoughts.

As he observed the painful cries of "ouch" constantly resounding from the ground, Lin Ke couldn't muster the slightest trace of pity. After all, he vividly remembered the hardships he'd endured as Klin.

Yet, amidst the cacophony of pain, another figure stood frozen in place. Lin Ke couldn't help but notice the individual trembling with fear while attempting to strike a martial arts pose.

Examining this peculiar stance, Lin Ke recognized it as the Praying Mantis Fist. However, despite the grandiose posture, he hadn't felt a punch coming his way.

With a closer look, he noticed that the person had soaked his pants in fear, causing Lin Ke to silently marvel at his newfound, unintentional intimidation.

"What should I do now? What's the plan?"

Then he noticed Klin. The guy was staring straight at him; didn't he want to punch him?

Seeing Lin Ke's unwavering gaze, the person remained silent, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Hey, do you have any money with you?" Lin Ke asked unexpectedly, taking the person aback, making him choke on his words.

"I do… Yes."

With trembling hands, the person reached into his pocket and produced the only money he had on him. Lin Ke, without hesitation, accepted the meager offering.

"Is this a robbery?"

"Indeed! Have you ever trained in Mantis Boxing?"

"I have," the person stuttered.

"Then don't tarnish the name of Shaolin martial arts!" Lin Ke reprimanded, echoing the dialogue from the Shaolin Xingye film.

Without further ado, Lin Ke casually relieved these individuals of some of their money and left the place, patting his backside as he departed.

As he left, faint cries trailed behind him.

After a day of walking through the hilly terrain, Lin Ke found himself in an area where the hills grew taller. From his vantage point, they resembled small mountains.

"Wait," Lin Ke paused, realizing something important. "Where should I go next?"

Considering his predicament, Lin Ke acknowledged that he lacked a clear plan. He had entered the Dragon Ball world with the goal of finding Dragon Balls but lacked the necessary tools. Navigating this vast world without guidance would be a daunting task.

"Ah, I know! I'll go find the Turtle Hermit!"

An idea suddenly struck Lin Ke. He recalled that, aside from his incredible strength, he seemed to share the title of the Turtle Hermit's strongest disciple with Klin. The allure of the Turtle School's Turtle Sect Qigong Wave still held sway over him.

"Alright, off to meet the Turtle Hermit himself! Time to head to the beach!"

With newfound motivation, Lin Ke set off. However, he remained oblivious to a small but fateful detail beneath his feet.

"Oops! Stepped on something. Why does luck seem to elude me since I arrived here?"

Lin Ke muttered as he wiped his shoes on a nearby rock.

...

Time passed, though Lin Ke had lost track of the days and months. As an Earthling, apart from his invincible punch, he found himself similar to the others. His body ached from traversing mountains and fending off occasional attacks from ferocious creatures. In this world, anything could be roasted and eaten.

Lin Ke remembered the importance of martial arts in the Dragon Ball world.

...

Eventually, Lin Ke reached the beach, perhaps due to the progression of the Dragon Ball storyline or the author's preference for avoiding water scenes. Here, he would finally encounter Turtle Hermit Island.

"It's finally here."

However, Lin Ke's journey had left his clothes with a pungent odor, but due to his lack of a sense of smell, he remained oblivious.

As he gazed at a wooden boat on the seashore, his eyes were suddenly blinded by a brilliant light beneath the radiant sun. Lin Ke knew exactly what this light signified—it was the reflection from the Turtle Hermit's bald head.

"The sun is shining so brightly today. If only there were a beautiful woman to accompany me."

On the other hand, the Turtle Hermit was engrossed in preparing his beach chair for some sunbathing, blissfully unaware of the approaching visitor.

"Hey! If it's a guest, I hope it's a beautiful woman!"

With the sun in his eyes, the Turtle Hermit couldn't identify the person on the boat.

After a brief pause, Lin Ke dropped the oars and gracefully leaped from the boat, displaying an impressive feat of agility. To the Turtle Hermit, Lin Ke appeared as a shining, fleshy projectile.

However, as Lin Ke descended with pride, he soon realized that landing gracefully would be a challenge.

"Ah!"

Lin Ke tumbled headfirst into the sand, right in front of the Turtle Hermit.

The Turtle Hermit chuckled. "It turns out to be a young boy! I thought it was a beautiful woman! What a disappointment!"

Lin Ke's arrival had taken the Turtle Hermit by surprise.
