Everyone got onto the bus, Mia and I got onto the seat almost all the way in the back. How the seat plan worked was that there were 2 people per each seat. And you already know Mia and I just have to sit down next to each other, we met in 1st grade and became great friends! I thought we picked a really good place to sit, even though it wasn't for me to decide, it was more for the teacher to pick where we sit, and we get to pick who we sit next to.
But I guess the teacher had other plans because guess who sits behind us, none other than Daniel and his mindless friend, Jack. They were both very annoying, but Jack would mostly bully others, and Daniel would bully us, buy one get one free, annoying edition. When we sat down, we saw Daniel smirking at us,
"Well guess who is here! None other than Mia the Ikea, and Olivia the olive tree" he said laughing with his friend. A hating shiver went up my spine in rage. I have no idea how Mia kept her cool, something they taught her in her martial arts, I don't know, but these guys were getting up my nerves, I wanted to grab them and throw them off the bus. I turned around and decided to make them shut up myself,
I glared at them both, "You know what? How about you both shut up or when we get to the beach, I will drown you in the sea water while forcing your eyes to stay open?" I growled back. It was harsh, but needed to be said, I saw Jack shrinking down in fear, but then I heard Daniel comforting him,
"oh don't worry, she wont do a thing, not if the teacher is here" he said,
Does he just think he will be safe when the teachers are here? I don't care if they tell my parents, but he deserves some discipline. I didn't do anything about it and just went on my phone, like Mia probably thought, might as well ignore them, what did we have to prove to these lunatics?
Half way through the bus ride, I saw the beach. They said it was 30 minutes, not 15, but I honestly don't care how long the bus ride is, it might as well be 11 hours. As long as I get there, I honestly don't care. I looked back at my phone and saw a weather alert. "high and strong waves, created by the incoming storm. Not enough to become mini tsunamis, but do recommend not to come to any beaches for a few days and avoid any beaches. If you are headed to a beach, it is recommended to stay on the sand away from the water, unless trained professional, take action in the next hour" so specific wasn't it? I looked around to see if anyone else got the warning, but no one seemed to react to it. Perhaps it was for somewhere else? But I forgot it as soon as Daniel started,
"What do you call someone who looks like a donkey, as smart as a rock, and can't hit? Mia!" he said laughing with his friend, Jack laughed fakely, as if it wasn't funny. I guess he was talking between himself and his friend, but he was in fact talking to us! No, not us, in fact, Mia!
"Hahaha, so funny" Mia laughed sarcastically, as she kept looking at her phone. Sometimes I'm annoyed about how lightly she takes it, like you are getting bullied, and you do not even care? At that point i was shaking and twitching with rage,
I kneeled closer to Mia, practically breathing into her ear, "Mia, they just made a joke about you, do you not care how other people think of you?" I whispered. She looked at me, glanced at Daniel, and back at me,
"He can say whatever he wants, I don't think there would be a universe where I would care a singular bit about his horrible jokes" Mia murmured in response.
When we came to the beach, I quickly changed into my yellow swimsuit, well, your regular swimsuit, and Mia got a black swimsuit with graffiti like drawings on it. I know she likes going to the deep end, and that is why I love her. We always play near the deep end in pools, and we both love enormous waves!
Maybe it's a good thing we became friends, I mean, it's great! I love her like a sister!
The warning rang up into my head, I hoped the waves weren't that strong, I mean they couldn't, the beach wasn't even that big! We left our class to go to the calmer part of the ocean to get used to the water. I looked around to maybe find some strong waves, or maybe big waves? No, actually? No waves at all! Just little bumps in the water! I looked to my left and saw Mia using her goggles to go underwater.
I brought my goggles and could just visit her, but maybe in a few minutes. She was enjoying the diving experience, I enjoyed hopping over the waves experience. As I was swimming and getting used to the water, I realised that Mia hasn't come up for air yet, by this time I would expect her to get up already. I decided to go underwater for a minute, and realised that the sand was really smooth with some seashells at the bottom.
I saw Mia catching fish not too far away. I swam up to her and signalled her to go get air, I was already getting tired and wanted a breather, and I just came into the water! When we got out, I said,
"Wow, how much is your lung capacity?"
"Phew, oh, remember those swimming lessons? That helped me, also look at what I got!" she showed me handing a fish that was still flapping, it looked like a herring, I didn't even know it was legal to get a fish just by fishing it with your hands without a licence,
"Nice catch!" I praised, she nodded and then she looked annoyed while looking behind me,
"Guess who is coming" she said rolling her eyes, I looked behind, and unsurprisingly, it was Daniel and Jack,
"Are you guys stalking us or something?" Mia finally stood up for us. I looked at her surprisingly, but didn't say anything,
"Oh look who finally said something!" Daniel mocked.
"No, seriously, why do you follow us everywhere like hawks?" I sneered,
"Maybe cause you're so idiotic, I have to watch out so that you don't look at seaweed and think it's a food"
"It is a food idiot!" I yelled,
I swear I wanted to drown him so badly! You know, I didn't notice how fast time went, and about 40 minutes already passed of us just trying to exist in peace. Jack didn't say anything, he was better than Daniel, and I could see that.
