Chapter 4: Heaven’s arena

It's been a week since then, and Jones has just contacted me about a smuggler that was heading to the Yorbian Continent soon.

Gyro readied his things to go meet the smuggler Jones had told him about; on the way, he bought some more food.

Gyro spotted the smuggler; his brown, scraggly hair was offset by deep-set, dark brown eyes, and heavily lined eye bags. His slender figure suggested a life of illicit activities.

"Are you the kid Jones told me about?" said the smuggler.

"Yes, when will we be heading to the Yorbian continent?" I asked.

The smuggler said, "In a month, we'll be leaving by ship."

"Alright, and how much does it cost?" I replied.

"Just because you're Jones' friend, it'll be 200k." The smuggler replied.

"Here's half; I'll pay you the rest when we reach the Yorbian continent," I told the man.

I handed the smuggler 100,000 Jenny, and turned back to the room he had been renting. Overall, he had spent another 100,000 at the hotel.

I kind of want to go to the Republic of Padokea to enter Heaven's arena.

A Month and 1/2 Later...

I've finally reached the Yorbian continent; from here, I can take a ship to the Republic of Padokea, as access to the country is free and requires no restrictions.

I booked a ticket from the United States of Saherta to the Republic of Padokea.

I'll transmute my aura during the journey.

Gyro was attempting to transmute his aura into a blue flame, something he had experienced burning in hell for several lives.

Just like Killua being electrocuted allowed him to easily transmute his aura, I've experienced hellfire numerous times throughout my lifetimes when compared to the torture Killua endured; it was infinitely worse.

Trying to remember how it felt like being burned to near-death by a never-ending flame that aimed to cause him the most pain possible.

Trying to instill that memory into his aura, it started flickering blue. It flickered faster and faster.

By the time I reach the Heaven's Arena, I will have mastered the art of transmuting my aura.

3 months later...

'I finally reached the Republic of Padokea!'

During this time, Gyro learned to concentrate his aura into his eyes, which was named "Gyo".

He also could transmute his aura into a blue flame which he could instill into his attacks and weapons.

His aura was able to make his enemies kneel in pain. After all, it was modeled after hellfire – the pain it caused was unceasing, but when compared to true hellfire, it was nothing but a copycat.

Entering the building, Gyro registered for Heaven's Arena.

"Are you sure about this, kid?" said the clerk.

"Yes, don't worry about me; I'm not as weak as I look." I responded

"Alright then, your number is 14998" replied the clerk.

Taking a seat, I waited till they called my number.

Hearing my name being called, I headed down onto the arena

My enemy was one of those Shaolin masters or something.

"I don't want to hurt you, kid; just surrender," the Shaolin master said.

"Don't worry, I'm not the one who's going to get hurt," I replied.

"Don't say I didn't tell you so, young man."

"3, 2, 1, go!"

I quickly sprinted towards him and struck him with my Nen-infused attack, without using my transmuted aura; for if they knew of its power, they would be able to counter it more easily.

Just like that, the Shaolin master flew and hit the wall.

"Number 14998, Mr. Gyro Wins," announced the referee.

Three months later...

During this time, Gyro was able to reach the 170th floor and earn 200 million Jeny.

Heading back down for his next fight, he saw a burly man with black hair and brown eyes.

It should be easy like the usual.

"I ain't going easy on you, kid," said the burly man.

"every time I fight one of you guys, you keep saying that I should surrender or whatever. Just shut up and fight." I responded.

"3, 2, 1, go!"

I swiftly approached him and struck him with my nen-infused attack.

The man took it on the chin and stood back up with ease

"So you're a Nen user, huh? No wonder you're so conceited" the burly man said.

'Why is there another Nen user before the 200th floor? What is this luck?'

The burly man struck Gyro with a Nen attack; Gyro couldn't dodge in time, so he activated Ten and blocked with his arms.

'Wow! That guy has incredible physical strength; my arm almost snapped from that.'

Flaring his aura, Gyro attacked with his transmuted aura.

"AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!" the burly man screamed in agony.

"Give up, old man," I said as I struck him on the head repeatedly

"Critical Hit, Down!"

"3 points to Gryo!"

"Clean hit"

"Clean hit"

"Critical Hit"

"Clean hit"

"Critical Hit"

"Gyro wins," the referee shouted hurriedly, trying to end the battle as quickly as possible.

I'm pretty lucky that he didn't have a nen ability and wasn't well-versed in nen; otherwise, I would have lost.

The crowd watching cheered his win

"That child is strong as hell"

"How did he manage to beat that man?"

"Why did the burly man collapse in pain after only one hit? What a weakling."

'I'm pretty damn strong'
