Chapter 16: CH-16
The weasel stared at Lu Chuang in disbelief, thinking that this person had incredibly thick skin.
"I've got what you want ready," the weasel said as he pulled out a folder and placed it in front of Lu Chuang. "This contains your new identity, including a fake driver's license, medical records, social security number, and more. As long as you don't provoke the IRS, you should be fine."
Lu Chuang couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. Shouldn't he have to pay taxes on the things he stole? But Weasel's efficiency was impressive. He had collected the necessary funds for the deposit a few days ago, and Weasel had quickly provided him with a new identity. Having a legal identity was crucial for Lu Chuang to move around freely.
Lu Chuang put away the folder and then asked about Wade's well-being. Weasel informed him, "I don't know for sure. I last saw Wade two days ago, and he seemed to have found an underground group related to Francis. After that... well, you can guess."
Weasel didn't delve into the details, but Lu Chuang understood. Wade had been through a lot of suffering during his time in the institution, both mentally and physically. If it weren't for Wade's strong will, he might have gone insane. Lu Chuang could empathize with Wade's need to find an outlet for his pent-up frustration.
As they talked, Weasel dropped a bombshell. He said, "There don't seem to be any commissions that match your previous criteria."
Lu Chuang's expression immediately shifted to disappointment. He had hoped to choose low-difficulty commissions to fulfill the system's unlocking requirements, but it seemed that things wouldn't go that smoothly.
Now, he was eight sinful villains short of completing the requirements. He needed to speed up the process.
Desperate, Lu Chuang even tempted Weasel with his "villain training tool," but Weasel refused without hesitation. Lu Chuang then asked Weasel for recommendations on commissions targeting gangsters. Weasel handed him several black cards, and Lu Chuang found one that piqued his interest.
"Is this all?" he inquired.
Weasel nodded, and Lu Chuang decided to take the commission despite the potential difficulty.
But there was one more request. Lu Chuang asked for a C4 bomb.
In a misty night on the streets of Brooklyn, a heavy truck was parked, and several armed men emerged. They opened the truck's rear compartment and retrieved automatic rifles. These mercenaries didn't seem to care about attracting attention.
The leader, a burly man with a thick Russian accent, stepped on the muddy road. He flicked his cigar ashes and cursed under his breath as he approached an iron gate. The gate opened slowly, revealing a frozen warehouse behind it.
Inside, a group of people was playing poker around a metal table. Frozen pork hung in the room, concealing packs of transparent crystals. The Russian leader confirmed the goods and handed over a box of banknotes.
Just as they were about to conclude the deal, a sudden knock on the door outside interrupted them.
