Chapter 14: Glorious Tree
Alice's pov
I woke up to find that skylar isn't beside me. I thought that maybe all of that was a dream but when I stepped a foot the in my kitchen there was enough proof to say that it wasn't a dream.
The real question is how did skylar leave my place,I mean I always make sure that my doors are locked at night. I believe I didn't give her the lock password or the key either. Well I'll leave this question behind and confront her later as I am literally getting late for my classes.
Quickly after taking a shower and wearing some tomboy clothes I left my apartment on my bicycle. On the way I spotted a sandwich seller so I quickly stopped and bought some for myself.
Upon reaching the university grounds I am greeted by an worried Riley jumping like a bunny towards me pulling me in a bone crushing hug. " where had you been Alice.do you even know how much worried I was for you. " riley said in between my chest. I chuckled and pulled away from her.
" No need to worry now ok I am totally fine." I said as I started making my way to my first class of the day and guess what its psychology. Great just great lord. I entered the classroom using riley and Jakal as my shield. It was useless as Skylar I mean miss Skylar wasn't in the classroom.
I wonder what is so important other than her class as she always was the punctual one. Hah.. Oh well nothing can be done about it but it's better this way since I wouldn't have to face her in this way.
Sadly enough my thoughts were interrupted by the person spoken off entering the class apologizing for the unpunctuality. She started explaining about the human development of children which I wasn't able to concentrate at since she looked so damn good today.
Today she looked like a friggin goddess. Like a succubus luring me with its looks oh damn control yourself Alice. "Psst.. Hey girl you okay, you seem distracted and I can see you drooling. " Riley nudged me on my side making me jerk my head in her direction.
I blushed knowing I got caught by my bestie. She smirked and mouthed I want every single detail after class. At this point even miss Skylar noticed as I could feel her burning gaze on me. " Student Riley and Alice can you pls stand up " Miss Skylar asked as she positioned herself on her desk.
Oh man only if she knew how many questions were roaming in my mind pressuring me to ask out loud in front of other children but I had to control myself. I cant let her win like this. " what were you two talking about can you pls share it with us too " she said as she smiled innocently towards us, but oh you are mistaken to think that because those eyes have that intense craze.
" um.. m-miss its nothing just discussing what you were explaining. " I answered nervously before riley could since I don't want my bestie to suffer. " alright then pls explain the stages of human development according to Hurlock " she asked calmly. I physically gulped hard knowing I screwed up real time.
just before I was going to answer riley nudged me slowly sliding the book towards me. I mentally thanked her and pretended to cough to get to grab myself some water. " ugdm.. right according to Hurlock there are 10 stages a human goes through. The first being prenatal period from formation of zygote till birth, second infancy from birth till 2 weeks, third babyhood from 2 weeks to 2 years, fourth childhood from 2 to 12 years which is divided into early childhood from 2 to 6 years and late childhood from 6 to 10 years.
fifth adolescence from 10 to 18 years, sixth preadolescence from 10 to 12 years, seventh early adolescence from 12 to 15 years, eighth late adolescence 15 to 18 years, ninth adulthood from 18 till life ends which is divided into early adulthood from 18 to 40 years and middle adulthood from 40 to 60 years, then finally tenth late adulthood from 60 onwards.... phew...hah..hah.." I replied in one breath.
the look on everyone's face told me that they were shocked to hear my answer even riley was shocked to see me say all this in one breath without even have to read the whole thing for three times. " very well, I suppose I assumed wrong. I apologize for my wrong judgement, you both may sit." She said as she continued to teach the class.
" Yo girl what the hell was that " Riley asked me just above a whisper. In fact I also don't know how I said all that in one go. I mean I remember studying this last week for extra information but being able to speak it all in one go is a bit shocking for me.
After the class was over all i could think of was how miss skylar leave my place without me noticing. As I was walking absentmindedly i suddenly bumped into someone and guess who it was riley who was looking at me with a face ' I need every single detail or else ' while crossing her arms on her chest.
If only she knew how hot she looked right now. " You've got some explaining to do young miss " She stated. God she sounded like my mom. " Let's go to the park first since we only have a few minutes." I said as I started walking off towards the park. we both sat down the glorious tree which has been a safe zone for me.
It had been my and Riley's little secret since this tree was positioned such by the nature that it is difficult to find which makes it the perfect place for us to spend our time when stressed. I took a deep breath in, preparing the words to say to her.
" Ok so last week I treated miss Skylar to some food for she took care of me when I was drunk because of some stupid girl who couldn't take care of me and bothered to call a teacher. " I said with a hint of sarcasm. " Like I was the one who had a teachers number " She mumbled. "Hmm, did you day something? " I asked.
"Huh no, did you hear something? " She replied. " Anyway so where was I, right so i treated her to some food but do you know what happened then of course you don't she asked me to accompany her for the rest of the day. "
" You mean indirectly asking you out with the excuse to make you feel better. "
Riley said with a hint of amusement. " hey don't say it like that. we both spent our time in an closed place which was like dream come true with arcade, a dance floor. oh and we danced on 'Bailamos ' by Enrique Iglesias." I ranted like a fan girl.
"you sound like a fan girl who just got to live her dream. damn girl I didn't know that you drooled over miss Skylar like that." she remarked making me realize that she ain't wrong about it. " Hey now I feel extremely awkward seeing her as yesterday she visited me. " I blurted out what was on my mind.
" What! She visited you, are you fucking serious and you really didn't think about informing me about it. " She accused. "I'm sorry pls don't scold me " I said in my guilty childish voice. Riley huffed but finally gave in as her eyes softened and she pulled me in a hug.
What I wasn't aware of was that someone knew about this place and was currently crumbling a hot coffee cup.
Well now it was time for my history class and honestly I was terrified to go inside and come face to face with miss Mia. I mean she literally kidnapped me. Well I don't want anyone to be suspicious of me especially riley since I know she reads me like a book.
Inside the class surprisingly miss Mia was clam and smiled kindly at me without malice. She greeted me and riley with a beautiful smile. Honestly speaking she changed a lot since she always used to be tough and never used to smile at us.
" Sorry miss Mia I am late pls don't give me an essay. It will never happen again. " All heads snapped to the source of voice. Sadly for this boy it's going to be a nightmare since we all know how cruel she is when someone is late. " It's fine child but it better not happen again. You may sit " She replied kindly. Everyone's jaw was on the floor at this point.
Miss mia was never one to let someone off so it really is a shocker. What did Skylar do to miss Mia that she changed this much. Damn Skylar you are amazing.
The class went good for once and I really need to thank Skylar for this. I really wished to go to this cafe and guess what I met a boy on the way who I knew a long back, he just came back for visiting his family. His name is Robby, he had been my childhood crush and guess what he likes me back.
" So Robby how has life been outside in the wild " I asked. He smiled softly as he passed me my coffee. " Well it is nice there, a lot of opportunities coming in a rush. I'll be honest once I left this place then only o realized my feeling for you.
" He replied. I took a sip of my coffee while he gazed at me as I did the same.
I don't know for how long we had been staring but who cares his eyes we're just filled with love and kindness. Suddenly he broke the silence with the words I wanted to hear from him when I was a child and maybe now also " I will be straight to the point. Alice will you be my girlfriend " He asked almost expectently.
My heart was pounding extremely fast. The way he looked at me. I was just silent not knowing what to say. He sighed softly took my hand in his and said " Take your time Alice I am not pressuring you also the bill has been paid " He winked and started to get up.
When he was just going to step out of the place I stopped him by holding the hem of his shirt looking at him softly before getting on my tip toes to give a peck on his face. I quickly ran out the door after this since I didn't have enough courage to face him.
But who knew behind a computer someone drinking wine was witnessing this moment and broke the wine glass in pure anger. That poor Robby was going to pay for something I did.

Hello readers, I am really sorry for not uplaoding all this while. This disease of a thing writers block had been a big issue for me.
But let me assure you that for compensating you I will upload another chp this week and also your girl has been promoted to 10th grade.
