Chapter 53: An Angel at Yancy Academy

It's been seven years since the spectacular with Nero, and for the most part nothing of significance happened as Percy was kick out of schools due to his demigod powers.

While the necklace was keeping his powers in check and hidden, his powers were too sporadic to control leading to random surges.

I was attending a sixth-grade trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as Percy's older "brother" and throughout the way to museum I was eating the chucks of the peanut- butter -and ketchup sandwich that Nancy threw.

I don't know why but when it comes to peanut-butter sandwiches, the taste is completely overwhelming to me even when I am using Vincent's sense of taste to enjoy food, it was so disgusting that I had to remove the sense of taste to deal with it.

"Not to be mean, but a peanut-butter and-ketchup sandwich as food? Yeah her parents obviously don't care for her in the slightest." Vincent chided as he felt the same way as me.

Percy was getting agitated with Nancy's antics, but me and grover managed to calm him down as we had arrived to the museum.

As Mr Brunner, the Latin teacher who was the centaur Chiron, led the tour throughout the museum and explain everything in there such as the purpose of styles and Greek and Roman history.

"You know, I used to like museums until you told me the real truth about history, now I just laugh at the complete twisting of the truth in modern society." Vincent sat on the head of a statue of Zeus with a lazy and bored expression on his face.

I agreed with him as in my past life, I believed what I was told about history, only to witness it firsthand and disregard all of the lies that I was told.

I was fine until I smelt the smell of a demon and I looked at Ms Dodds, she was secretly one of the furies Alecto and was sent to observe Percy and kill him.

I tried to fight back my instincts to smite her, but I knew that would blow my cover and cause unwanted attention.

While I was in the middle of stopping myself from killing Alecto, Percy finally had enough of Nancy and told her to shut up in a loud voice as everyone looked him.

"Mr Jackson, did you have a comment? Mr Brunner deep voice rang across the room as Percy face went red with embarrassment.

"No sir." Percy replied as Mr Brunner pointed at a grotesque picture of Kronos eating his children and asked Percy to tell him what it represented.

"That's Kronos eating his kids right? Percy recognized it from the lectures that Brunner taught in class.

However, Mr Brunner wasn't satisfied with that answer. "And, he did this because...

"Well... Percy was trying to remember as i showed him the answer with hand signs.

"Kronos was the king god__" God? Brunner asked his eyebrow raised.

"Titan, Percy corrected himself. "And he didn't trust his kids who were the gods, so he ate them but his wife hid baby Zeus and gave him a rock to swallow." And when Zeus grew up he tricked Kronos into barfing up his brothers and Sisters." Percy summarized as one of the girls behind him made a noise.

"Like we're going to use this in real life like on our job applications, please explain why Kronos ate his kids." Nancy mumbled to a friend of hers.

"And why, Mr Jackson, to paraphrase Miss bobfit's excellent question, does this matter in real life?

Percy thought about the question and eventually shrugged, as he was unable to come up with an answer.

Charon looked disappointed and summarized the story again, afterwards it was time for lunch as the students went outside to eat.

Just as we were about to go outside, Mr Brunner wanted to talk with Percy alone but I could still hear the conversation with my senses.

"You must learn the answer to my question Percy."

"About the titans?

"About real life, and how your studies apply to it."

"Oh"

"What you learn from me is vitally important, and I expect you to treat it as such, I will only accept the best from you."

"Are you kidding me Chiron, for someone who is the trainer of heroes, you can't see that Percy is still a child and can't see the point of you pushing him to such extremes." Thinking about how to comfort Percy as he left the museum.

Overhead a storm was brewing with clouds dark as night, and I sighed as I could feel the effect that the man-child and Poseidon as they fought over Zeus missing lighting bolt.

The three of us sat on the edge of a fountain away from the other students, as I chatted up a conversation with Percy to take his mind off things and enjoy the scenery.

However good things don't last as Nacy and some of her friends, came up to where we were and started to pick a fight with us.

Nancy dumped her half-eaten lunch on my face, I didn't mind as getting mad over something small like this was childish.

I grabbed Percy's arm to calm him down and think, but I guess that was his last straw as his emotions were so strong it broke the seal on the necklace, as water from the fountain grabbed Nancy and sprayed her like a dog.

Everyone was shocked as the mist was working overtime to alter the students perception and make it seem as if Percy had pushed her into the water.

Alecto materialized next to the fountain and glared at Percy with fire in her eyes, demanding that Percy come with her back inside the museum.

When they reached the Greek and Roman exhibit, Alecto transformed into her true form as Chiron gave Percy the iconic sword riptide, in the shape of a pen as he removed the cap and defeated the fury.

When he returned back outside with the students, the mist had already worked its magic as everyone denied the existence of Miss Dodds.

For the rest of the school year, nothing of significance happened except for Poseidon and Zeus going out of control with their fighting until February, when we got out of Yancey on spring break.

We were waiting for our greyhound to come take us home, when I sensed a familiar presence at the fruit stand nearby.

It was the Fates, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atrops were sitting together weaving the fate of their next victim, when I walked up to them.

"You! How dare you approach us after what you have done? Lachesis stopped her weaving and looked at me with eyes of hate.

"I'm sorry, I don't obey you nor the gods, you may be the ones who decreed fate but I'm a much higher power than any of you gods can imagine, I'm not ruled by fate nor destiny unlike others so yes I will continue to defy you and your plans."

"No one can temper with fate, NONE! Not gods, mortals, demigods, or even you can stop us and if you continue to be a nuisance for much further we will deal with you." Clotho gripped her needles and stood up.

"Heh! your fate or prophecy that you show to others is only what you wish for them to see and never the full picture, and when they take matters into their own hands with free will, then is when it is revealed that action is what causes the fate you decree."

"Yes, because whatever we want we get, we are the ones who control this universe with our power, and anyone who tries to disrupt the balance we destroy them completely." Atrops showed her huge shears and made a sinpping motion.

" you continue to think like that Fates, I can't wait for the day when I grab those shears and cut off heads and watch your body fall." I left the stand and went inside the greyhound bus, grover and Percy were grilling into me about what I was doing with the Fates, I told them not to worry and it didn't concern them.

When we got to Apartment Sally opened the door and greeted me and Percy warmly, as Percy enjoying his mom's chocolate-chip cookies and telling her about school.

"Sally it's time, he is realizing his true nature and his powers are awakening in full force." I told her what had happened at the trip and Percy seeing the Fates.

"I knew this day would come sooner or later, but I was still hoping I can spend some time with him before he had to go." Sally face was disheartened, and she knew that Percy needed to leave for his safety, but I knew that she wanted to spend one last time with him before it all changed.

I stood up from my seat and left the apartment, but not before telling Sally to scream out my name if she was in danger.

I Manifested my wings and flew all the way to the Lotus hotel, a hotel that slows down time within it and keeps you trapped there with games and other stuff.

For example, if a normal person were to stay in the hotel for three hours, then in the outside world only five days would have passed.

However, since I was an angel and couldn't be affected by the flow of time, I could stay and leave within normal time.

I entered the hotel and went to the arcade center and sat in a table near the corner, as the two demigod children of Hades greeted me and smiled.

Nico and Bianca had olive skin, black silky hair, and eyes that were the color of darkness.

Nico was extatic to see me and invited me to play a card game called Mythomagic, and I happily agreed as I told the both of them stories of the outside world.

Later in the evening, I heard Sally praying to me for help as they were being chased by a minotaur, a monster with the body of a man and a head of bull.

I teleported into the passenger seat of Sally's car and gave her a I-told-you-so look, and said what's up to Grover and Percy who were freaking out and asking questions.

"Look, Isaiel I know that this was a bad idea from the start, but if you could please deal with the Minotaur behind us anytime soon." Sally tried to drive the car though the harsh rain and the Minotaur to camp half-blood.

"Okay, geez chill I got this." I created a bow made up of glistening light, pulled back the string, took fire, and hit the eye of the monster as it screamed in pain.

I felt a shift in energy molecules as electrons began to lock on the car, I knew that Zeus was about to strike us and covered everyone with my wings as the car exploded.

I rushed to Percy and Grover who were on the ground in pain, as Sally got grabbed by the Minotaur and disappeared in golden light.

Percy got up and in a fit of rage he rushed at the Minotaur and ripped of its horn, as I caught him as he passed out and dragged him and Grover into Camp half-blood.

"Hello Chiron and Annabeth, lovely weather we are having right? May we come in?
