Chapter 31: Final preparations and Fuinjutsu Mastery

Right now, Tenten and I were sitting on the rug in front of my bed as I taught her how to make her own Explosive Tags.

She didn't have an amazing talent in the field, but her chakra reserves covered her needs momentarily.

I hadn't practiced Fuinjutsu since the day I was dismissed by Kushina and with my decision to master this Shinobi area I needed to go back to practicing to understand the basics and be able to start producing my own Fuin.

While my companion concentrated on trying to produce her first stamp, I began to analyze all the language.

After a few minutes of analysis I noticed that the language had its obligations and exceptions.

Although most Explosive Tags looked completely the same, there were some differences depending on who made them.

Firstly, I thought this would be due to the quality of the work, writing errors and the like.

But after producing stamps with the variations I noticed that the differences were interconnected in the stamps in a functional way.

In other words, they were just another way of doing the same thing.

Seeing this I began to decipher the language and its symbolism more carefully.

When Tenten finally managed to produce her first Explosive Tag, it was already close to lunch time, she still needed to improve some parts, but it was already acceptable.

I, on the other hand, had already reached some conclusions.

Special inks and papers exist only to conserve a minimum amount of chakra for the seals to be functional, or a maximum capacity of chakra can be contained in the seal.

If Fuin is not strong enough he will have difficulty sealing other Shinobi for example.

Space rings are incredibly useful, but I still need to reach Chunin level to be able to produce my first one and space is limited. Some storage scrolls can come in handy even with the space ring.

Tenten was a Chunin, but she would need a few months of study to be able to produce a space ring, so I dismissed the idea right away.

I cooked lunch for both of us, pork belly with vegetables and soy sauce, accompanied by rice.

"Do you have a long way to go before you're ready for the Chunin Exam?" – Tenten asked curiously while she was eating.

"I should be able to get through without too many problems, my low Chakra reserves are what are hindering me the most at the moment." – I answered sincerely.

She was thoughtful for a moment.

"Comparing our reserves, how far are you?" – she asked.

She had somewhere between 12 or 13 thousand Chakra points.

"You have about twice as much chakra as I do." – I admitted.

Surprise took over her face.

"Your chakra has recently reached Chunin level, but Chunin level is much more extensive than Genin. Like a 10 to 1 ratio." – I explained.

"I'm not even close to the Genin with the most chakra reserves participating in the exam, how are you going to compete like that?" – she asked worriedly.

I smiled at her.

"I have my secrets, but I hope I can master enough Fuinjutsu to imitate Ninjutsu by the exam." – I said trying to be mysterious.

Her mouth dropped open.

"Do you want to imitate Ninjutsus using Fuinjutsu? Wouldn't it be easier to learn Ninjutsu?" – she asked perplexed.

My smile widened.

"And what's the fun in that?" – I said teasingly.

"I forgot who I was talking to. It's still very strange to think that you are thousands of years old." – she admitted.

"I may be thousands of years old, but I have never been old. Where I come from, anyone under a thousand years old is from the new generation and only after ten thousand do we become the old generation. I never made it past ten thousand." – I explained trying to sound falsely serious.

Tenten laughed, giving up.

"An eternal adult." – she mumbled.

I opened my hands signaling that I couldn't do anything to change this.

After eating we lay down on my bed to rest a little, in a few minutes I could feel her falling asleep next to me.

Meanwhile I closed my eyes, not to sleep, but to continue analyzing the language of Fuinjutsu.

A little over an hour later Tenten woke up.

"I need to go home." – she announced.

I had no reason to stop her, that was never my way of acting.

"I'm going to prepare my things for the exam and continue training Fuinjutsu. When you miss me, just let me know." – she said while leaving a paper with the address on the table near the door.

I went to her and grabbed her waist. Our faces met each other and our lips touched.

It was a simple kiss, but I conveyed through it how much I wanted her to visit me again.

"I think I'm the one who's going to miss it." – she admitted in whispers when our lips disconnected.

I was alone at home, but still had a lot of things to do.

I sat in the lotus position and continued to meditate on Fuinjutsu.

The hours passed and night took over the horizon when I finally opened my eyes.

The first step towards mastering Fuinjutsu had been taken by me.

The language was a representation of chakra, that is, even without paint or brush I could reproduce it in the world. The easiest way would be with some of my blood, but I would find a way around that.

My next steps would be to recreate skills and ninjutsu through Fuinjutsu. Create seals to multiply strength, defense, create elemental attacks…

Okay, I admit that this is all a bit of a prank because of the way Kushina treated me, but for someone like me it's just another way to pass time than actually serious training.
