Chapter 2: Paradox
I was falling. And fast too. I spent a good 15 seconds thinking about how to save myself, but I've promptly given up. As I look at my surroundings, I see a massive town in the distance, with windmills and a church.
"Hold on, is that mondestat? Is my new location teyvat?"
I feel my mid move at 100 kilometers per second. If I'm in mondestat,then depending on the timeline, I might be able to be saved!
I being to shout "BARBATOS, PLEASE HELP THIS FOOLISH FOLLOWER OF YOURS,AMEN."
My only hope, is to be saved by Barbados, God of freedom. If I'm lucky, I might survive! If he's still away from mondestat, then I guess I'm dead. I wait, and notice the ground moving closer, and closer. "DAMN IT, THINK, HOW CAN I SAVE MYSELF?!"
As the ground becomes closer, I feel something erupt from my mind, a purple tesseract. What I do next, is sheer instinct. I move the tesseract toward the ground, and as I impact the ground, a large explosion is created. *Shatter*
The ground around me shatters, and so does my arm.
"FUCK, MY ARM, SHIT DAMN IT"
A barrage of curses spew from my mouth. And I being to black out from the pain. As my vision fades to black, I see a person with a red ribbon styles as rabbit ears draw closer to my body.
Everything goes dark.
As I open my eyes, light invades them. I grunt in pain, and attempt to move my arm to cover my eyes, but am met with pain instead.
"Shit, how am I even alive after that type of fall? Did barbatos save me last second"
Probably not. I felt no winds and the impact of my arm breaking was still fresh in my mind.
Let's gather my thoughts.
I hit 91 pity and the world ended....
Fuck.
Dread fills by heart. How did I even get here? All I remember is talking to a strange being, and being told I'm being transfered to a new world...
Ah, I'm screwed aren't I?
In genshin without a vision? And no knowledge of where I am in the timeline? That's a problem. And I intend to fix that.
As I begin to get up, a voice pierces my ears.
"HEY, you shouldn't be moving with an arm like that. lay back down, and explain to me what happened."
Standing before me was outrider amber, a rather important character in mondestat. I can't tell her what really happened- well, i can, but it wouldn't benefit me, and would only confuse her and make me look suspicious.
I guess i can take the wandering traveler who got unfortunate and ran into some treasure hoarders? I probably wouldn't survive a slice or hillichurl, and treasure hoarders probably wouldn't murder me. Some other lie- "Hey, are you okay? You seem to have spaced out for a while there. Did you get hit in the head too?"
'Treasure hoarders it is.'
"I'm not sure, to be honest. You see, I'm a wanderer of sorts, and I was attacked by treasure hoarders on my way here. I'm quite lucky to have survived." 'that part isn't a lie though.'
I got caught up mid inner monolog, I just need to keep continuing off this story, and I'll be able to maybe get healed by Barbara.
"Well, I'm glad I found you! You would have meant in quite some trouble if you ran into any of the monsters around here. Mind of I have your name, and then we can go get your arm patched up!"
So far, So good. But there's 2 problems I need to solve now. Where I am in the timeline, and how to ask questions about getting healed without looking suspicious. I still don't know if Barbara being able to heal is public knowledge outside of mondestat, so I'll deal with that later. Might as well ask about the current state of mondestat to see if dvalin has gone rampant yet.
"I have a question, is mondestat safe? I'm just wondering if I have to worry about treasure hoarders inside the city.
"Mondestat's safety is protected by the knights of favonius, so I can assure you that inside the city, there are completely no threats."
So pre dvalin, nice. Let's see if I can go get a cast at least, if I'm not able to get my arm healed.
"Are you ready? Just let me know and we can start moving towards mondestat, and get out of the woods."
"Yeah, I'm ready."
"Then Let's go!"
We being to trek towards mondestat.
