Chapter 52: Chapter 52 - First Class [2]

As I entered the classroom, I saw only two others in the room. The beastman from yesterday, Adrienne and Arthur Valter, the world's chosen one.

'Huh? Am I early or something?'

The faculty head of the combat department smiled when she saw me.

"Everyone's here. Perfect. So, you two will be spending every morning with me. Most people are with their homeroom teacher. Homeroom lasts for about an hour, normally it's for kids to study, and ask their classmates for help while teachers make any preparations they haven't already made for their classes. But, for you two, that's a bit pointless. Don't you think? So, I asked the old man if I could just teach you two. And he didn't mind. Anyway, get ready. I want you take you each on. Arthur first, since you got here first."

The opportunity to be trained by Adrienne was something Arthur was presented with after the entrance exam in the original story. But, since I was someone who's strength rivaled his, I was also given the opportunity to be trained by her. I was grateful, truly.

"So, first things first, Arthur get yourself a weapon. You use a katana, right?"

Arthur smiled before shrugging his shoulders.

"I can use whatever, sword, spear, dagger, whatever. If it's a weapon, I can use it."

She looked at him, placing a hand on her hip and sighing.

"This is why I love geniuses, always full of surprises. Anyways, pick whatever weapon you want. There's a stash over there, you can use any of them, it's fine if you use multiple too. Just come at me, use Magic or whatever. I'll stick to just using Mana reinforcement, and obviously I'll hold back."

Smiling Arthur spoke.

"Nah, Reinhardt can go first. I wanna watch him fight, on the off chance I get injured then I won't be able to watch him fight."

He wanted gauge my strength, probably. So, had asked for me to fight first. Frankly, that was fine with me. And it made sense.

If I got injured, it wasn't a problem, I could heal unless the wound crushed my brain, destroyed my heart or destroyed all of me in one blow. But, if Arthur got hurt particularly badly he'd have to go get patched, and consequently would be unable to watch my fight.

The teacher shrugged her shoulders, and heading over to her desk, she placed her hand on it and after channeling her Mana into it, the once ordinary classroom oom changed into a space not too dissimilar to a university's lecture theatre.

However, there wasn't a desk or anything of the sort. Just an empty space, though it was fairly spacious.

"All classrooms work like this, they can change their inside to suit the need of the class. Depending on the class, it can change from an ordinary classroom to to a training hall, or a laboratory etc. They typically have two modes, classroom mode and a mode suited to the practical needs of the subject."

She pointed in the direction of the changing rooms, and so we both went to change. As we were changing, I couldn't help but notice his build.

'Skinnier than I thought.'

He seemed to be inspecting me too.

"Reinhardt. You're jacked."

'Why is a man the first one to point out my muscle...?'

In my past life, I wasn't particularly muscly so I never really thought about it but it looks like guys are the first to notice and compliment another guy's muscles.

I took a look at myself. I had gotten even more muscular since I had come to this world. It was probably due to regenerating so much.

Muscles grew larger and stronger when put through mechanical tension. In other words, when they were strained, and after getting adequate rest and nutrients, they would grow stronger and bigger.

But, the time taken to recover wasn't small. But, since I constantly healed myself, and since I was constantly putting my muscles into strenuous conditions they grew pretty fast.

Now, though I was pretty big, I wasn't some sort of crazy big bodybuilder-esk guy.

Dismissing my thoughts, I got out of the changing room when I was ready, and when Arthur was ready he also came out.

Arthur sat on one of the seats, and waited for us to start while the teacher fetched a training sword of herself. She also handed me a greatsword.

"Use this, for the purposes of training, you shouldn't use any sword that isn't given by the school. We don't want people using outrageous artifacts or use subpar weapons."

I nodded. I didn't totally understand the difference between weapon's quality just yet.

Enhancing myself with Arcane Magic, I took the greatsword and took a swing. But, both Arthur and Adrienne frowned.

Arthur looked especially dissapointed.

"Remind me, Reinhardt, you do know how to swing a sword. Right?"

Adrienne approached me, and angrily corrected my posture. She also adjusted my grip for me, teaching me where to hold my sword depending on whether I used one or two of my hands.

Arthur also came, and he moved my legs, explaining where they should be planted.

'Why did no one tell me that I was swinging my sword wrong? For goodness sake, I didn't even know it could be done wrong.'
