Chapter 18: Accusations

The surrounding area became comletely quiet for a while. The criminal which seemed to be at the end of death's door suddenly opened his eyes to look at the man standing infront of him. "Are you here to collect information or are you actually different?" Velios closed the gap between them casually. "I'm not from around here so I still have no idea who you are really, but all I really needed was a look at your eyes to understand who you truly are." The criminal looked even more shocked than before. "So you want to hear what happened or something?" Velios tilted his head to the side in confusion. "No I came to free you-" But it didn't get through to Yotsuya. "It first started when we realised that we were trapped inside the game, of course. I was lucky enough to have some of my friends in the same city as me so we had formed a party of five people in total. All was going well until we one night accepted the same commision as always, to exterminate nearby goblins, a commision which we had done many a time. Nobody had any idea of what would have happened." Yotsuya's head was slowly lowered to the ground and small drops of tears were seen slowly after falling down to the ground.

"On that night, before we got to fight a single goblin. There was seemingly a person in the distance, all by himself. Some of us wondered what he was doing so we started asking him questions. I still remember the feeling I got when I initially saw him. I felt an ominous aura around him, that the human was not a human, but some unknown monster. Without saying a word, I ran away like a coward, leaving the rest of my party behind. I was scared senseless." Velios didn't seem to be interested in the story and was instead looking at a butterfly flying away in the distance. "After a while, I got the courage to go back, but when I did-" Yotsuya's tears were there only coming more and more of as he started getting flashbacks. "When I did come back to the place I ran away from. I saw my whole party, every single one of them were brutally murdered and chopped up. Only the hair, clothes and other distinctive features remained as everything else was scattered around completely randomly in different piles of blood, meat and few bones." Velios turned his head straight towards Yotsuya in an instant. Velios' eyes had quickly opened from hearing Yotsuya's last sentence. Yotsuya thought Velios would answer him with something but when he looked up at him, Velios head was also looking directly down. "In conclusion, when I arrived at the scene. Other people must have been nearby and they thought I was the one who did it.Thinking back, it wasn't the best decision to aggresively scream while holding my sword up in the air. I was accused of false murder, manslaughter and homicide as a result." Velios slowly looked up at Yotsuya with both a smile and a tear on his face. "I killed that bitch of a monster for you." Yotsuya took some time to process it but couldn't, his jaw was basically hanging down at the floor. "What do you mean?" He stuttered out. "I said, I killed the same monster which killed your party." Yotsuya was to stunned to speak.

Velios walked around the pole and unbinded the tightly knotted knots. The rope started falling of the pole from the weight of Yotsuya's arms and his weak body fell down to the side of the pole. "Why?" Velios walked over to the dull body on the ground. "Why not." The small moment where they first made contact was short and brief, but there was something, some unknown connection. Velios put Yotsuya over his shoulder with both of their heads facing the same way. "What are we going to do now, Velios?" Velios faced towards the city. "Well, we have two options and neither are typically good. We can go into the forest as we are now, or we can go back into the city, get stuff and then get out of there as fast as possible." They looked at eachother before walking directly through the gate as if nothing was wrong. The amount of unwanted attention was absurd as literally every player there was starring at them as they walked through. The story about the Yotsuya the criminal were quite well known to the point where other cities most likely knew of it. But the two of them kept on talking with eachother like there was nobody around. They looked as if they had been friends with eachother for life. But somehow it had remained quiet around them, but for far to long.

The people around watched in confusement and anger. "We will not serve you, nor this criminal scum. The fact that you released him is bad enough but you bring him into the city where he can walk free like everybody else? Just get away from here!" The other people who were enjoying their food stopped eating to instead join the hordes of people who were screaming at them, specifically Yotsuya, reciting the things he did or atleast the things he were accused of. "Hey, calm down chef. I only asked politely if we could get something to eat, my friend here hasn't eaten in a while." The chef was even more furious after Velios had said that. "Hey, Velios. I think we should just get out of here." But Velios gave no answer. The chef looked at the two of them as if they had destroyed his restaurant. "You're really getting on my nerves. Get the hell out of here already!" As he said that, he threw a dirty plate headed straight towards Yotsuya's head. The plate was seen spinning randomly in the air. The wind from it making the quietest of sounds. But in the blink of an eye, Velios had grabbed it right before it had made contact, applied the teeniest amount of strength and the whole plate snapped into tens of pieces. "I've said it already and I won't repeat it again. Get us something to eat and make it quick." The sentence was spoken quietly but to the people around him it sounded like somebody had an enhanced microphone. Velios was emitting intense pressure and the whole building was filled with Velios annoyance. It was both overpoweringly dark and immense. A power meant to show of superiority. The unique skill Velios had gained in his latest fight, exclusive skill Utamatā.
