Chapter 10: Chapter 10 : confrontation
After returning home, Jacob didn't think about the recent events to avoid worrying about Bella's affairs.
After a week, Jacob looked at his father's house and had an idea to keep things a little busy.
The next day, he came with a fairly large camper van and parked it in front of his father's house.
Surprised, Billy asked how he got it and Jacob lied to him that he had won it in a competition but he had actually put the seller under hypnosis to get it.
Billy found the story a bit weird but didn't push it too much until Jacob told him that he would have to move in with the girls inside for a while.
When his father asked him the reason, Jacob told him that he was going to rebuild the house.
Billy, surprised at first wanted to refuse but several trucks loaded with several materials and resources arrived there with workers.
Billy: JAKE!!!?
Jacob: Don't worry dad, it won't take a lot of time. I'll help you move into the camper van, you'll see, it's very comfortable inside.
Billy: The workers, the equipment? Where did you get the means for all this?
Jacob: It's my secret, dad. (Comes closer) But if you have any concerns, I can swear to you by our ancestors that I have not done anything illegal or that would harm the tribe. You have my word.
Billy: My son, you are growing up way too fast. (sighs) I trust you but I hope it won't last too long.
Jacob very quickly with the employees cleared the house of its furniture and decorations after helping his father and sisters move into the camper van and just as he had promised his father, the camper van was big enough and comfortable inside.
The days passed and the process of demolishing and then rebuilding the house progressed.
Besides, Sam and the rest of the pack had joined in the work to make it progress even faster.
In just three weeks and a few days, the house was rebuilt more beautiful and larger than originally with a larger garage for Jacob.
Billy had thrown a little party to kick it off and had even invited Charlie who had come alone because Bella was traveling with Edward to see her mother in Florida.
Jacob had invited someone to the party to everyone's surprise and it was Danielle the girl from Seattle.
During the last two weeks, they saw each other several times and Jacob thought it would be good to introduce her to his family.
Billy and Charlie were very surprised by this because she was not only very beautiful but also older than him, they themselves tended to forget that Jacob was only 16 years old.
Jacob had changed his look, he had cut his hair slightly and had done a "loose Man Bun" cut with a voluminous bun at the back and several strands that covered certain parts of his face.
He had even had ear piercings done in addition to a few tattoos which had gotten Billy talking quite a bit.
When Billy knew Danielle had native blood he asked her the name of her father's tribe, she mentioned "Mohican" and they were really surprised, she also gave the complete name of her deceased father and Billy was satisfied .
In the end, the party went very well, everyone was quite happy.
One morning while Jacob was away, something happened. Victoria had returned to the area and the wolves had gone after her.
The problem was that the Cullens were also chasing her and driven by anger or stubbornness to catch Victoria, Emmett crossed the border into Quileute territory but was quickly intercepted by Paul one of the werewolves who sent him in the water and they had to calm this tension which unfortunately allowed Victoria to escape.
That day, Jacob had not slept in the reserve but was in another place with Danielle in the camper van, they spent several days making love and enjoying the peace and quiet before Danielle left for Seattle.
When Jacob returned, they were given an update on the situation with the Cullens and Harry was bedridden due to illness and the old man charged him to go and give them a warning because he was the strongest among them.
Jacob got on his new Harley-Davidson ES motorcycle that he had renovated himself and drove straight to the Cullen residence.
It was in the evening and the Cullens were quite surprised by Jacob's visit to their home even if they were a little suspicious of the reason.
Esme looked at Carlisle her husband and he nodded to tell her everything was okay.
When they came out, Jacob wasn't too surprised to see Bella there since she had already returned from her trip.
Bella: Jacob?
"Good evening Bella" He greeted without much emotion.
Edward saw him and came down the steps to get closer.
Edward: Jacob, it's a good thing you're here. I would like to thank you for what you did for Bella when I... faded away. She told me everything that happened and how you saved her life. So thanks.
Jacob: Don't worry, she already thanked me properly and it was memorable. (speaks louder) I came here to give you a warning about what happened the other day, the next time one of you crosses our border I will come to intervene personally and truce or not, I will massacre those who have violated our territory.
Rosalie: This is a little dog that barks a lot. Do you think we're afraid of you?
"Rosalie, No." Emmett grabbed her hand to tell Rosalie to stop immediately, he knew why not to provoke him.
Carlisle: We understand and I apologize for that, Emmett was a little overzealous.
Jacob: I don't care what the reason is, let it never happen again. I won't be as Clement as last time.
" What is he talking about ?! » Esme asked Alice who told her she'll tell them about it when he's gone as Emmett and Jasper looked at each other.
He tried to leave because the message had been delivered but Bella called out to him.
Bella: Jacob, please wait.
Jacob: I'm listening to you.
Bella: Please don't do that, I can see that...I've become like a stranger to you. I know I did wrong to you so I-(interrupted)
Jacob: No need, I don't blame you.
Bella: No Jacob, that's not true and we both know it. Look, at the end of the year after prom, I might not be...human after that.
Jacob: They're going to transform you?
"It's my choice" Bella said lowering her head.
Jacob: It's not my problem anymore Bella, you're a big girl. (looks at Edward) You know the terms of the treaty and once one of you bites her even to transform her, the treaty will be broken and we will all come and kill you.
Edward: We'll be gone.
Jacob: That gives you the option of injecting your venom into a syringe if you want to do so while respecting the treaty. Carlisle is an excellent doctor appreciated by the locals, it would be a shame if he left.
Carlisle: That's a great solution Jacob, thank you.
Esmee: Jacob, Alice is going to have a party for the end of the year and it would be nice if you accept our invitation to try to make...peace (smiles hopefully).
Jacob: That's kindly suggested, I'll think about it.
Esme: (Smiles)
He wanted to leave when Edward called out to him once again.
Jacob: What else, Cullen?
Edward: We have a problem and it happened at Bella's house. An unknown vampire broke into his house and took one of his clothes.
Jacob: An unknown vampire? Charlie is okay at least ?
Bella: He has nothing.
Jacob: (sighs) It's dangerous, this item of clothing is clearly taken to be able to spot and recognize your scent. If he wanted it for himself, he would have simply sniffed it before leaving but if he took it with him…
Jasper: It's to make other people sniff it.
"Exactly and it's dangerous, tomorrow I'm going to go to Charlie'S home to inspect and see if I don't find anything else" he told them before leaving there without even turning around and also explained his problem to the wolves in the reserve.
