Chapter 6: The Auction
After washing his wounds for sometime, Jack quietly walked back to his squad as they were still inspecting the items they got from the loots. Jack didn't show any interest in the loots and ordered the squad to gather the dead bodies of the members and then head towards the gate as soon as possible as they were in no condition to stay here any further. While he ordered Michael to take care of the items they collected so far.
But before they could walk any further, an unbelievable thing happened as the dead bodies turned into fine light particles and soon vanished from the sight.
This scene scared everyone as they were horrified to watch their brothers-in-arm disappearing in front of them and felt sad as they could not even bring back the dead bodies to their family.
After a moment of shock, Jack ordered everyone to move as fast as they could so they could leave this damn place as soon as possible. Michael watched Jack who just started walking in front of them with a poker face and seemed quite eager to return as soon as possible and felt that something was not right with their leader but didn't said anything.
And like that, they spent the next 3 days walking in same direction from which they had came and soon came to the flat field they appeared after entering the gate. The moment they walked in the field, a system message appeared in their vision that stated:
'Do you want to leave the training ground ?'
[Yes]. [No].
Jack finally felt relaxed after seeing the message and knew that they can finally get home but before he could think any further, a voice came from behind which seemed to be one of his squad member. He saw that the man was someone responsible for carrying small beasts that were captured to be taken back to their world, had confusion written all over his face and when he asked what happened, he got a reply which seemed like someone has poured a glass of water in their efforts. When asked, the man replied that a system message appeared on his screen which stated that no living thing can be taken out of the training ground.
After hearing this, everyone's face soured as they worked quite hard to capture these monsters alive and now they were told that they can't take them back so they were displeased with this turn of event but there is nothing that can be done to change the fact that the monsters can't be taken back.
As they were thinking what to do now, Michael suggested that they should first kill the monsters and see if they could take their bodies as the message only stated that no living thing can be taken out from the training ground but nothing about the dead ones. And as soon as he said that, the realisation struct everyone and they also agreed to this statement.
After killing the monsters, the man who was carrying them said to everyone that the message that stopped him disappeared and now he can go back like everyone else. Jack breathed a sign of relief as atleast they can now bring the dead bodies.
Now, Jack along with his squad touched the yes icon on the system screen and vanished in thin air and soon appeared in the white hall that streached to god knows how long as is was impossible to see the end of it on any side but as they walked for some time they walked through the invisible membrane and exited the hall and soon passed through the Giant Door.
As soon as his story ended, Mr. President stood on his place while the rest of them also straitened their backs and then he said
"Jack, we all are greatful to you all and now can you bring out the things that you brought from the other world so that we can decide what steps to take in the future."
Jack bowed in return to his complement and order his squad members to bring the items that they brought with them put them in the table at the centre of the conference and at last he took out the rusty rectangular box which contained the remaining two shiny arrows. After putting it down he said,
'Mr. Prisident, these are all the things that we have brought from the other world', and after putting the stuffs on a table in centre he took a step back and returned to his previous position.
The eyes of the President and everyone present in the hall stopped at the table and their faces started shining. Everyone present there wanted the piece of the pie and no one was willing to take a step back. The situation became quite awkward.
After some discussion it was decided that an 'on spot auction' will be held and the the winner will be able to take the things he wanted and it was decided that the money will be given to Jack and his squad members.
Then, the first item to be auctioned was the monster's bodies one at a time to which the six Pharma giants put on a great fight and at the end 'The OmenBuzz ', the head of the pharma giants took three of the nine monster bodies. After that 'The golden pill', the second lagrest pharma giant in korea took two bodies whlie the other four companies bought one each for themselves. The differet plants and flowers were in bulk and so it was not different for everyone to take in some for themselves and even the people from different sectors also bought some.
After that, the coins were taken by The Byakubans', the richest family in Korea.
Since the level 5 dagger was nothing special as it can't be apprised outside the gate and so was taken in by one of the big families whose family head happens to had a hobby in collecting things.
The stones collected from the monsters were all in great quantities as Jack and his squad killed quite a few monsters during their investigation but even so after learning that only one out of every 20 to 30 monsters had a stone in them, everyone took in some to do their own research on them.
And lastly, The arrows in rectangle box, since it was a weapon which from Jack's statment believed to be magical as it can be peirced though anything or anyone below level 10 was given to the military for research to which many people present there expressed their dissatisfaction but after some discussion agreed as there were only 2 arrows and nearly a hundred people and no one would be comfortable seeing the magical weapon on the other's hand.
And like that the Auction was over.
