Chapter 17: Big Line and New Challenge!

[Ding! User has reached the 98th-floor rewards: A bowl fragment and a Fishing pole.]

Exiting the safe room, I see trees towering as high as skyscrapers, and flying around them is so much fun. I then spot a city, not a town, in an old Asian style. It resembles an 1800s city, with people, horses, and carriages waiting in line to enter. Flying down, I position myself at the back of the line. While waiting, I hear about a contest offering a kiss from the princess or a date with her for the winner. However, all I need is a shower and food, and I plan to leave after that, well, not the food. After a while, more people join the line, and behind me is a fancy carriage—pretty cool.

I pull a burger out of my bag and start munching on it because this is taking forever. I feel a tap on my shoulder, and looking back, I see one of the guards from the carriage eyeing my burger. Knowing what he wants, I pull out another one and hand it to him. He bows, cups his hands together, and goes back to eating. I feel good about sharing my food. After finishing my burger, I pull out a berry-flavored sparkling water and take a quick sip. *Cough Cough* I hear coughing behind me, and it's the guard I gave a burger to. I walk over, pull out a water bottle, open it for him, hand it to him, and he takes a good mouthful. He thanks me and hands me a bag full of silver coins. I thank him back with a bow and a hand cup before turning around and waiting.

(Time-Skip)

'Fuck me sideways, I have been waiting in this line for over five hours. I did have the guard from the carriage to talk to, but finally, I can now get in,' I thought, almost breaking out in tears. "Identification, please," said the guard. "Could you repeat that, please?" I said calmly. The guard sighs and says, "Please, sir, may I see your identification? If you don't have any, get out of the line and join the peasants." He points to a longer line that reaches past the forest. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH, YOU HAVE TO BE SHITTING ME. I HAVE BEEN WAITING IN THIS LINE, AND NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THAT," I screamed. Then, a man walks out of the carriage. "What is all the hold-up, and why did someone scream?" he says with an annoyed expression. The guard explains the situation, and he sighs, looking at me and smirks. "I will let you in if you give me your armor and weapon; they look expensive," he said, eyeing my equipment.

"GO FUCK YOURSELF, BITCH. I WILL JUST GET OUT OF HERE," I said, pissed, and the man in the carriage looked pissed also. "Listen here, peasant, you don't even deserve to be in front of me. Go give me your armor, or I will take it away from you," he said, pulling out his weapon. "It's not like you can win the tournament, so just give it here," he continued. I was so pissed that I didn't even register his words about the tournament. "Oooooh yeah, I can totally win and kick your ass in it without my armor, but I am not giving you my equipment," I said, using |Wings| to fly in the sky, surprising everyone watching. "So you better watch out for me," as I flew away from that line and got in the peasant line.

(Third Person)

[Ding! You unlocked a secret mission.]

Not noticing the system window or the woman on top of the gate looking at him the whole time. "You're finally here, Charlie. I can't wait," she said, walking away, blending into the shadows.

(Scene Break)

"So how are everyone's runners, well except Cristal's," said the announcer with a happy expression.

"All good," echoed eight voices.

"What about you, Crane?" he asked, confused about why he did not answer.

"My fucking runner is an idiot. He's so stupid; he has been on the 98 floors for too long. Your runners are already on the 120th floor, right?" he said/asked, mad at Charlie.

"That does sound bad, but hey, your runner has yet to die. Be glad," the announcer said, making Cristal even more angry.
