Chapter 12: Beginning of magic training
Haha, James laughed.
But there's a problem; we don't know what we're dealing with, and we don't know how dangerous it is!
"What do you mean?" James asked.
"Because we don't know how much affinity he has for the elements!"
"But he can't have two elements at the same level of affinity, and because of that, it doesn't show in the orb? Wouldn't that be the most reasonable possibility?"
"That's why I said we don't know what we're dealing with! Could he have two elements with a high level of affinity, and that's why it doesn't show in the orb, or is it all of them?"
"How are you going to find that out?"
"In training! I will teach him the most basic elements to see which option it is! But there's another problem, but this one is easy to solve."
"What is it?"
"When we send the letter to the academy, we have to put which element he has the highest affinity for, we have to put one at least to protect our son!"
"And we have to find an element he likes and that is the strongest," James replied.
James noticed that his wife didn't look very good and asked, "Are you worried about what?"
"About what? Are you still asking? He could be the first mage to have an excellent affinity with each element, without having to spend years studying the elements he has less affinity for! And you're asking me why I'm worried?"
"I think you're overthinking it, but let's see!"
"I wish I could be relieved like you!"
Ahahha, James laughed heartily.
Lucca gets up soon after his mother, says we're done for today, and he receives a pop-up.

'As long as I'm with my parents, everything is fine, right? I just hope this doesn't get out.'
The next morning, Sophie and Lucca head to the same forest as the day before.
"At least I didn't receive any mana! Ori, do you think there's a way for them to discover our secret?"
"I believe not, in my analysis, they might think you have the same affinity with the elements!"
"As long as I'm with my parents, everything's fine, right? I just hope this doesn't get out."
The next morning, Sophie and Lucca head to the same forest they visited the day before.
"Sit down, Lucca. To learn magic, you need to learn how to sense mana."
Lucca nods, and his mother continues, "Mana is the energy that exists in every living being and in the world. Now, close your eyes and concentrate, and try to feel the mana."
Lucca closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "I... I'm feeling something!"
"Tell me, what is it?"
"It's like I can hear all the sounds around me."

"Good, that's the easy part. Let's make it a bit more challenging. To channel magic more effectively, you need to master the mana breathing technique."
"How do I do that?"
"You have to draw in and focus on the mana around you. This forest has a good concentration of mana. Try inhaling deeply and feel the mana's flow. Close your eyes, of course."
He closes his eyes and starts to inhale. "I feel the mana, but I can't concentrate it within me."
"No need to rush; stay calm. As you exhale, try to envision the mana you inhaled earlier, which has concentrated within you. Imagine it as a bright light that grows as you breathe."
It took Lucca six months to succeed.
"Ahaha, I did it! I can feel the mana within me!"

Lucca thinks for a moment and says, "heat and destruction."
"Excellent. Now, concentrate on those feelings, feel the intense heat and destruction, the burning flame within you. Let it grow. Focus on your intention and visualize what you want to achieve with fire magic."
Lucca closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "I feel intense heat, very intense, and I want to create a fireball in my hand." He starts to sweat all over and struggles to maintain his focus.
"Take a short break, Lucca, and try again. You were almost there. Channel that energy into your hand, imagine the flame taking shape and coming to life. Visualize it dancing, as if it were burning in a candle in your hand."
After a week.
"Ahaha, I did it!" Lucca finally manages to create a fireball in his hand.
"Release the fireball!"
"Anywhere specific? Like an attack?"
"That's right; give it a try."
"Okay, I'm going to aim it over there." Lucca points and tries to launch the fireball.
He releases it, but as soon as it leaves his hand, the fireball loses strength and disappears.
"Huh? Lucca looks confused."
"You thought you could simply create a fireball in your hand and immediately start throwing fireballs around?"
"I thought," Lucca says, disappointed.
