"I didn't believe it at first when they told me, so I went over to see his body," Safiya sniffed, using the back of her hand to wipe the silent tears that fell.

"I thought I was strong enough to handle this pain, but it's a lie. I do not know how to hold such pain in, I feel like, I feel like it was my fault he died."

"Oh Safiya," Amara held her hand, holding it firmly, "Please don't say that."

Safiya shook her head, "It's my fault."

They were seated under a mango tree in the thick woods, the sunlight streaming through the holes in the many trees, through branches that spread out.

Amara had once again come to Saiya's place because she wasn't sure if the maiden would even reach out to her, and she was right, she never did reach out. When she arrived, Safiya had been there since yesterday.

"I never was a friend to Ahmed, but I'm sure your friendship with him was real, and he would never let you blame yourself," Amara said, consoling her.
