Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Let the Show Begin

"Director of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, Nick Fury."

The man wearing a black eye patch, dressed in all black with a black coat, black leather trench coat, and black gloves, stood in the doorway, blocking the sunlight from entering the shop...

"Wow, who turned off the lights?"

Upon hearing his self-introduction, Tony exaggeratedly raised an eyebrow and stood up, his charming little mouth firing off immediately:

"I definitely put up the 'Rest' sign when I came in. Don't you know it's impolite to enter without permission? And it seems like you eavesdropped on our conversation?"

He conveniently ignored the fact that he had also barged in without saying hello, and he pulled out his phone and waved it at Nick Fury, whose expression was unclear:

"I think I should have a lawyer talk to you."

Nick Fury's lips moved. Although Tony Stark was just a little kid in front of him, he couldn't deny the fact that the kid had a strong background—his dad was Howard!

Well, although this kid currently didn't know the relationship between Howard and the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division...

"And the name of your agency is really unpleasant and too long. Do you think everyone who deals with you likes reciting poetry?"

Alright, this little brat needed to be managed. Even if Howard were alive, he wouldn't be able to stop him.

"Entering without prior notice is my style, and unfortunately, I have that privilege—"

"If you need legal permission documents, I can send the search warrant to your office, Mr. Stark."

Upon hearing this, Tony's expression twitched—has anyone made him lose face like this in so many years?

Well, there were some. The guy next to him had done it before.

"Tony, it's okay. It's not the right time for you to confront him."

Oaks slowly stood up and patted Tony's shoulder. He wanted to protect him after hearing Fury's self-introduction and associating it with someone who might cause him trouble.

"After all, they're a global organization. If those agents set their sights on you, it will delay your money-making opportunities."

"Can you handle it?"

"Leave it to me."

"Alright, let the show begin."

"..."

Tony plopped back down on the sofa, lying down and crossing his legs. But then he heard some noise coming downstairs.

"Oh, by the way, what did you say to release?!"

Antonio came downstairs with Goose, Moco and Coco.

"Wow, Mr. Stark, when did you arrive?"

"Um, about ten minutes ago?" Tony shrugged. "Oaks, did you get two more pets?"

"Yeah, these were sponsored by the esteemed director's subordinates."

Oaks caught the jumping Goose and let the two little guys follow Antonio. He then tossed Goose towards Nick Fury:

"Old friends meeting, did you bring a gift?"

"Wow, wow, wow!"

Nick Fury exclaimed dramatically, "Be careful!"

"Smack!"

Goose jumped directly onto Nick Fury's left shoulder, reached out its left paw to touch his eye patch, and then arrogantly raised its head:

"Meow~"

"What did it say?"

"If you dare to come see me empty-handed, this meow won't spare your other eye."

"..."

Nick Fury was 10,000 percent sure that Oaks was trying to fool him.

Fortunately, he was prepared for it—he quickly took out a... cat treat from his leather coat pocket.

"Hey, Goose~ Who's the cutest kitty? Hahaha!"

"Wow," Tony slightly opened his mouth, "is this guy really the director of that... whatever agency?"

"Yes, he is."

Oaks winced a bit and couldn't help but advise, "Show some restraint, Director Fury."

"Cough..."

Only then did Fury quickly put down Goose, his expression turning serious again. He took out another box of cat treats and pointed to Antonio.

"Mr. Antonio, please come and take Goose away."

He gestured towards the stairs, indicating that Antonio should take the pets upstairs to avoid any trouble.

Antonio quickly went over to pick up Goose. Although he didn't recognize this imposing figure, he understood that when the boss discusses things, the employees should avoid getting involved.

"Antonio, come sit. Now that everyone is here, I'll just say it clearly today."

Oaks frowned. Fury's mannerism was rubbing him the wrong way.

"This is my shop, and you are my employee. Do as I say."

"...Yes, Mr. Oaks."

Antonio glanced at the slightly furrowed brow of Nick Fury and Tony's gleeful expression. He brought a chair and sat with the three little ones next to the sofa.

"Director Fury, please go ahead."

Oaks gestured to Nick Fury and walked over to the sofa next to Tony, sitting next to him.

"My friend," he pointed to Tony, who was tilting his chin up.

"My employee," he pointed to Antonio, who maintained a meek appearance.

"My pets," he pointed to the three little ones looking at them attentively. "So, Director Fury, what brings you here today? What do you want to understand?"

"A remarkable lineup you have here."

Nick Fury sat down on the sofa opposite Oaks without any hint of awkwardness, crossing his legs confidently.

"Like Mr. Stark, I'm interested in how you can travel to and from the Amazon Rainforest without any entry or exit records—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Tony exclaimed, "You investigated me?!"

"I only found the military's search records."

Fury gave a cold glance at the irritated Tony.

"We are a global organization, and the U.S. military also requires our assistance in many matters. Rest assured, Mr. Stark, I won't report Colonel Rhodes."

"Very well, it seems that I need to suggest some improvements to the military's information security measures!"

Tony became even more infuriated. Investigating Rhodes made him even angrier than investigating himself.

"We can discuss that later. Now, Mr. Oaks."

Fury seemed to have taken control of the conversation, with his imposing presence dominating the room.

"Although my two subordinates have given positive assessments of you, I, as a person, like to dig deeper."

"A good habit, especially for the head of a special agency."

Oaks didn't get angry at Fury's imposing attitude. He smiled faintly, patted Tony's arm, gesturing for him to calm down.

"Tony, I'm doing business here—successful transactions often involve both parties getting what they need, right?"

"Of course, the bigger the businessman, the less likely they are to demand things from others like thugs."

Tony snorted and glanced disdainfully at the expressionless Fury.

"We will reach a deal at a price acceptable to both sides. The process of negotiating the price is a profound art."

"I think Tony makes a lot of sense. So, Director Fury, what price do you intend to offer to buy my 'exclusive information'?"

Oaks leaned forward slightly. To be honest, he had been displeased with this guy for a long time.

Who knew how many secrets he held? Ha!

At least now you don't know who you're actually working for, do you?
