Chapter 40: The conditions
Frore has done as Blaze as told him to and moved 700 meters away from his current location. However as soon as he stopped moving, he felt a familiar murderous intent and aura from behind him.
"Little guy, where are you going in such a hurry?"
Maragmus Lee asked Frore with a relaxed and deep voice.
{...So, he had already figured out my position while I was talking with Blaze and waited to corner me when Blaze was busy fighting that monster.}
Frore scowled.
He had definitely grown stronger after awakening an elemental, but it was only to the level that he could at least breath freely and move around slowly when placed under the effect of Maragmus' aura.
He had no way of defeating him right now, even if he revealed his elemental !
Frore turned around to look at Maragmus Lee who was standing behind him carefree, revealing himself. He was no longer hidden by the invisiblity magic.
Frore felt a sudden surge of power flowing through him at that moment and his eyes opened slightly wide. He could feel a warm and strong familiar power inside of him. Pure white aura started flowing out of him.
{... Blaze's aura...?}
Maragmus standing in front of Frore could also feel that familiar overwhelmingly powerful aura although this time it wasn't strong enough to make him kneel on the ground, it was still strong enough to be on par with his own aura.
Basically, it meant that using aura on Frore had no effect this time, whatsoever.
Baffled Maragmus commented.
"Aura transfer?! I haven't ever heard about something like this happening before. A hidden skill?"
{but how...?}
Frore was himself surprised. Blaze hadn't mentioned about something like this.
The appearance of Blaze's aura had surprised Maragmus for a moment, but that didn't affect his bloodthirst nor his feelings for revenge. One side of his lips curved up and he had a chilling smile on his face.
"So, you can use aura now. But that can't save you from me."
Blood was starting to revolve around his feet.
[I told you I could hear your thoughts, didn't I? Don't worry. Even if he found you, that bastard won't be able to hurt you.]
Before Frore could think of a reply, Blaze continued.
[Now imagine yourself using my "Walking on air" skill.]
Frore did as Blaze instructed and dodged a blood dagger aiming for his heart. He could feel that his speed had increased several fold and he could move around with much more ease. He felt that his body has gotten lighter.
He could not match the level of Blaze's speed, but it was still enough to evade Maragmus' attacks.
[Frore run and bring him towards me. Let's deal with him once and for all.]
{...alright.}
Frore ran in Maragmus Lee's direction, who saw his actions and assumed that Frore was going to attack him. So, he forged a sword from blood. But, instead of attacking him, Frore ran past him and towards the place where Blaze was fighting against the monster.
While looking at that, Maragmus laughed out loudly. He then turned to chase after Frore.
"Hahaha...are you scared little boy? Are you going to cry to your big brother about it and ask him to save you? Even if he lends you his power, it is pointless."
Maragmus was a combatant, so he was able to keep up with Frore without much difficulty and continued to attack him with his blood weapons while chasing after him.
Frore wasn't listening to the nonsense he was spouting, he also used 'weapon maker' to counter the bloody weapons while running.
Obviously, he could not block all the weapons and was grazed here and there. But he avoided getting any deep or fatal injuries.
{...Blaze tell me honestly. What were the conditions?}
[What are you talking about?]
