Chapter 102: One Flaw

The door knocked and it saved Evangeline from responding to the maid. She was shocked with her own thoughts. Why did she feel so bad that he had saved a woman from fire. She was not a snob who differentiate between a noble and a commoner then why did the thought affect him too much.

"My lady, Lady Blackthorn is here." Cherie took the cue and opened the door for the woman. It gives some time to Evan in pushing her strange thoughts away. She was ashamed that she was being too… she did not even know why she was so much affected by it.

"My lady.. Oh, you are a duchess now. Your grace.." Soliene bowed her head with a nefarious smile on her face. 

"There is no need to be so formal, lady Blackthorn. Please take a seat." Soliene bit her lips and looked at her with resentment. 

"I thought we are close enough to be called by our first names, your grace. I thought we were partners in justice." she pouted as she took the seat beside Evan and stared hard at her.
