Chapter 129: Forgotten Memories

Small wound? Evan wanted to laugh at the choice of words. His back was covered with red welts. Blood had dried but was left untreated. One of them would be enough to make anyone burst into tears but he had more than sixty marks on his back. 

Just the touch of it made her sting. The blood… he must have changed the shirt because the previous one was stained with blood. She was so scared to touch them but at the same time, she could not help but want to kiss them. 

"My mother.. I mean my deceased mother told me that kissing wounds could decrease the pain." She felt like a fool saying that. But a distant memory crossed her mind where she had fallen from the tree and her mother had come running to her. She had kissed her wounds and told her that it could heal her wounds and lessen the pain.
