Chapter 2: Chapter two :
After talking to James, Lisa went home. She took a shower and changed into her pajamas. As she laid in her bed,she couldn't stop thinking about everything he told her. It was all so strange and confusing , but at the same time,it felt like it made a weird sort of sense.
As Lisa laid in bed , her thoughts kept racing. She felt like there was something important she was missing,some pieces of the puzzle that would make everything clear . Just when she was about to drift off to sleep. She heard footsteps approaching to her door.
Ethan opened Lisa's door and sat on her bed. "Lisa can I speak with you." " Yes sure uncle,
what is it about"She asked querily." Lisa you will be working for Justin the ceo of Joyce group,as a personal assistant for two years,then after that you will retake your admission exams.
"What!!!! I can't wait for two years, while working as a personal assistant for some CEO I don't know and again I have no experience! "And then why will I be working for him . Uncle Ethan, you are just scared of not having money to send me to college,you don't have to worry abound that." " I found a job where I can work, for some time to gather money for college fees.
"No Lisa, that is not what am thinking I owe Justin a huge amount of money, since and I haven't paid him back. It the money I use to treat your Aunt's illness , and Justin charge me to court for it, so, when I couldn't provide his money. Justin tells the court that he wants one of my daughters to work with him for two years to pay off the debt. And you know your cousin Mabel, is too lazy to accept such, so you are the only one I could consider".
"Let me see his picture",She says angrily,she had just completed her highschool,and wasn't hoping for something like this to happen.
"This is him" , Ethan shows her Justin picture on his phone. "What!!! Him?" Lisa shouted and dropped the phone on the bed. "Uncle sorry I can't work for him."
" Lisa there is nothing you can do , the court had already stamped it . So start packing your belongings and prepare to leave this house, latest next week". He said and left her room .
A few days after her conversation with her dad, Lisa was getting ready for her first day at work with Justin. As she was getting dressed,she felt a mix of emotions: nervousness, apprehension,and even a little bit of excitement. It was a new chapter in her life,and she wasn't sure what to expect. But she knew she had face it head - on .
As Lisa was leaving her house, she heard a car horning. outside. She looked out the window and saw a sleek , black car idling in front of her house. The driver was leaning on the horn impatiently. She recognized the car as belonging to Justin, and she felt a knot in her stomach . She took a deep breath, gathered her things, and walked out the door. She opened the car door and got in . Justin looked over at her and said, "It about time! You kept me waiting!".
So , Lisa says in a quiet voice, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to keep you waiting. I just caught up in getting ready." Justin scoffs ,and says, "well , let's just get going. We don't have all day ." The car pulls away from the curb , and they drive off into the city. The atmosphere in the car is tense and awkward. Lisa can feel the resentment coming off Justin in waves as he drives .
