Chapter 44: Ch 39 Shikigami Conquest

As Ichiro locked eyes with Fenrir, a sense of fascination and amusement washed over him, blending seamlessly with the environment around them. In that moment, he found himself lost in a trance, pondering the seemingly impossible task ahead. "If I can't attack him directly or use any object to harm him, this fight is close to impossible," he mused to himself, a wry grin playing on his lips. "But how do I beat someone who can teleport attacks?" His mind raced with possibilities, each one more exhilarating than the last.

Turning his attention inward, Ichiro grappled with the reality of Fenrir's abilities, feeling a surge of excitement course through him. His eyes flickered with a mix of determination and anticipation, betraying the thrill of the challenge before him. If a sorcerer were to witness his expression in that moment, they would surely deem him a madman, finding humor in his own precarious situation.

"Skoll and Hati" As Ichiro called out the names of his loyal shikigami, they then materialized from his shadow.

"Alright, you guys keep it busy for the meantime," Ichiro ordered.

Upon receiving their orders, Hati let out a howl, causing his shadow to enlarge. From within emerged swarms of wolves, numbering in the thousands. They attacked in unison, seemingly knowing exactly what their master desired. To Ichiro's surprise, all of the wolves kept teleporting away from Fenrir, while Fenrir himself engaged in sporadic combat

Ichiro released his cursed energy, summoning a malevolent special grade curse spirit beside him. Its deformed body exuded a terrifying aura, with missing eyes and a mouth on its neck, resembling a nightmare from a horror movie. Despite its malnourished appearance, it radiated an air of dread. Ichiro then commanded the special grade curse spirit.

"I want you to hit those wolves," he ordered.

The curse spirit bowed to Ichiro, showing respect to its creator, before stepping forward. With a densed, compressed scream, it unleashed an attack, piercing the wolves summoned by Hati. However, to Ichiro's surprise, the sound of the attack echoed from fifty meters away from Fenrir.

Seeing the failed experiment, Skoll stepped in to heal the injured wolves caught in the attack. Meanwhile, Hati summoned the same number of wolves that were killed by the special grade attack. The wolves resumed their assault, giving Fenrir no respite. As this unfolded, Ichiro pondered his next move.

As Ichiro contemplated the Fenrir's surprising ability to teleport, a thoughtful expression crossed his face, his mind racing with possibilities.

"I see, so even if I don't attack directly, it can still be teleported," Ichiro mused, his voice laced with intrigue. "Does that mean its ability allows it to teleport any attack that can hurt it, even if that attack is not intended for it?"

A moment of realization dawned upon Ichiro as he continued to analyze the situation.

"So, it means that if a debris of rock were to fly towards Fenrir, its ability would instantly teleport it, whether that debris was intentional or unintentional," Ichiro concluded, his tone filled with understanding.

With each new revelation, Ichiro's respect for the Fenrir's capabilities grew, recognizing the ingenuity and adaptability of its powers. He knew that he would need to approach the battle with even greater caution and strategy, mindful of the creature's ability to anticipate and counter any potential threat.

As ichiro's grin grew wider and wider he then tried a different approach and this time he tried to throw rocks in various shape at a high velocity with each rock he hurled towards Fenrir, as the rocks about to hit Fenrir it suddenly vanished and appear fifty meters away from Fenrir

"Hmm, all those rocks Teleported exactly fifty meters away from Fenrir, which means that Fenrir's range is only fifty meters," Ichiro mused aloud, his voice laced with intrigue. "I see, so what will happen if I unleash an attack that has a range of 100 meters?" As he forms a plan he quickly dismissed it "Fenrir will probably just teleport-"

Ichiro's thoughts were abruptly interrupted as a sudden attack erupted from nowhere, catching him completely off guard. With a sharp gasp of surprise, he stumbled backward, only to be assailed by a barrage of strikes raining down upon him from all directions.

Pain flared through Ichiro's body as he struggled to regain his bearings, his mind reeling from the unexpected assault. Summoning Griffin with urgency, he leaped onto its back, seeking refuge in the safety of the skies above.

"Griffin!!" Ichiro called out, his voice tinged with urgency and confusion.

As they ascended into the sky, Ichiro couldn't shake the sense of bewilderment that gripped him. What had just happened? How had he been caught off guard so easily? With a furrowed brow, he pondered these questions, knowing that unraveling the mystery of Fenrir's unexpected attack would be crucial to turning the tide of battle in his favor.

As Ichiro soared through the sky on Griffin's back, his mind raced with questions, his confusion mounting with each passing moment.

"What happened? I suddenly received an attack-" Ichiro began to voice his bewilderment, but before he could finish his sentence, another assault descended upon him, catching him off guard once again.

With a sharp intake of breath, Ichiro's gaze fell to his chest, where he witnessed a wound closing up before his eyes. But something about the shape of the wound gave him pause—it resembled a claw.

"I see, so it was you," Ichiro exclaimed, a mixture of surprise and realization coloring his voice. "Hahahaha, interesting. To think you can also teleport your attacks."

As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, Ichiro's grin widened with newfound understanding. He now understood the source of the unexpected assaults—the Fenrir had the ability to not only teleport itself but also its attacks, catching him off guard with its deceptive maneuvers.

With his newfound insight, Ichiro's determination burned brighter than ever. He knew that he would need to approach the battle with even greater caution and strategy, ready to anticipate and counter the Fenrir's unpredictable movements.

Armed with this knowledge, Ichiro prepared to descend back into the fray, ready to face his formidable adversary with renewed confidence and determination.

With a massive grin spreading across his face, Ichiro felt a surge of excitement coursing through him as he prepared to unleash his next move.

"Now then," Ichiro declared, his voice filled with determination.

With unwavering resolve, Ichiro leaped off Griffin's back, releasing a massive surge of cursed energy that enveloped his loyal shikigami. Griffin's form underwent a dramatic transformation, its once regal appearance now imbued with a refined and majestic aura.

With a roar, Griffin descended towards Fenrir at breakneck speed, aiming to disrupt the creature's defenses. However, Fenrir was quick to react, teleporting away from Griffin's path in a display of elusive agility. Yet, Griffin refused to be deterred, relentlessly pursuing its target with unwavering determination.

Meanwhile, Fenrir employed its own teleportation abilities, sporadically teleporting Griffin and the other wolves away from itself, creating a chaotic dance of evasion and pursuit.

As Ichiro continued his descent, he then create a curse spirit—a special grade of exceptional power. With a commanding voice, Ichiro issued his orders to the newly summoned spirit.

"Keep attacking it and don't stop," Ichiro commanded, his voice echoing with authority.

As he give the command to the special grade, Ichiro watched the relentless onslaught unfold, he marveled at the power and determination of his shikigami. The special grade spirit stretched its arms, summoning a white triangular curse spirit riddled with eyes, which it then launched ten identical triangular spirits towards Fenrir.

The curse spirits persistently pursued Fenrir, undeterred by its attempts to teleport away. They relentlessly tracked their target, their unyielding pursuit ensuring that Fenrir could not escape their wrath.

With a graceful landing, Ichiro issued a command to the first special grade curse spirit he had summoned earlier.

"The moment Fenrir's mind is occupied with the attacks, I want you to strike Fenrir," Ichiro commanded, his voice ringing with authority.

The special grade curse spirit bowed in acknowledgment, standing poised and ready to execute its master's orders.

"Now, I wonder how this will play out," Ichiro mused, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he observed the unfolding battle.

With his strategy set in motion and his shikigami unleashing their relentless assault, Ichiro remained focused and determined, ready to seize victory against the formidable foe before him
