Chapter 10: Family.
Andrew woke up very early and was ready for the day. His only plan for the day was to visit his family, he missed them so much.
He closed and locked his room door after him and stepped downstairs to have coffee before leaving the house.
Alex who was helping Angel out in the kitchen even when Angel refused. She helped her out anyway, she just wanted to get her mind off her troubles and enjoy her stay in the house. Also,avoid Andrew as much as possible but till when??
Alex heard footsteps coming from Andrew's room angle and quickly hid at the back of one of the cabinets in the kitchen.
Angel was surprised by her actions.
Angel knew her boss was always strict and never smiled at anyone but she was curious about what could have transpired between the two of them for Alex to do that.
"Good morning sir" Angel greeted Andrew.
"Morning" he replied and moved towards the imperial espresso coffee maker. He made his coffee and was about to leave the kitchen when the sound of a broken glass diverted his attention.
"What's that?" He asked and walked towards the cabinet which Alex was hiding.
Alex closed her eyes and begged her ancestors inwardly for Andrew to just leave. She covered her mouth with her hands.
'Mother please help me this time' she muttered to herself,begging her mother in heaven to come to her rescue.
"Uhn…it's nothing sir. I probably placed one of the glasses wrongly,I'm sorry sir" Angel quickly said in a pleading tone to cover up for her.
Andrew looked at her and just walked away.
'Thank you mom,I owe you' she said to herself.
Andrew entered his car and drove off.
"Is he gone?" Alex asked quietly.
Angel bursted into laughter. "Yes,he's gone"
"I hate this glass because it hates me," she said while picking up the broken pieces of the glass cup. "Why did you wanna put me in trouble you asshole,thank God you're broken" .
Angel was speechless but kept smiling, she shocked her head in disbelief. "Who talks to a broken glass cup?", "and why did you hide from him?" She asked.
Alex didn't say anything for a while. "I just want to avoid him as much as possible, but I know it's lame because he'd take me anywhere anytime he needs to," she said with a sad expression on her face.
Angel had many questions in mind but she didn't want to involve herself in her drama. She feared her boss and her salary was also important to her.
"Alright, let's just make food and relax today, he won't be around anyways " Angel said.
"Fr?!! He won't be around?" Alex asked happily.
"Yes," Angel replied,smiling.
"Can I invite my friend over?" Alex asked, pouting with a pleading face.
"Oh no I can't allow you bring your friends over but if you want that,you should call the boss and ask for his permission " Angel replied.
That idea didn't sit well with Alex.

"Hey baby" Maria said and gave Andrew a kiss on his lips.
"I missed this," he replied. And moved closer to give her a proper kiss.
"Hmm" Maria moaned.
Maria is Andrew's legal wife and she had bore him a son. They're Andrew's legal family which he had kept a secret from everyone.
Benjamin was playing video games in his room when he heard two people having conversations downstairs. It has always been him and his mother alone. No house help or anything so he quickly rushed downstairs to know if his mother was safe.
"Mom?" He called out.
"Yes baby your daddy is here" her mother replied excitedly.
"Omg! You didn't tell me you were coming over" he said hugging his dad "I missed you so much"
"Yes,I just wanted to suprise you two,I missed you too son" Andrew said smiling.
Andrew and his wife sat on the couch hugging and kissing each other.
Benjamin sat on the opposite couch. He stared at his parents and shook his head in disbelief.
"Get a room!" He yelled.
They both looked at him and laughed.
"If anything you should be the one in your room playing video games" Maria retorted.
Benjamin hissed.
Andrew looked at both his wife and son and smiled.
Benjamin went inside his room to prepare himself for lunch. He has always loved eating his mothers food since he was a little till now. Not like if he had the opportunity to taste someone else's food,he won't but he had never been offered food by an outsider, they don't even have maids in the house. He always wonder why they're living like that when they're super rich. Sometimes he just wants to be free like a 12yrs old boy should be and make friends and live but his parents will always tell him to stay to himself and not associate with other people. He had asked them "why?" Countless time and all they ever say was "When the time is right,you will understand ".
"Hey Jamin,come downstairs. Food is ready" his mother called out,shouting.
"Coming!" He yelled back.
Maria set the table for them to eat together as a happy family.
She was happy.
"So….how's school?" Andrew asked Benjamin.
"Nothing much. Still the same,I don't have friends, I don't associate, I only go to school and come back inside, play video games all day long without doing anything. To be honest with you,I hate it because it's too boring" he said eyeing his parents. "I want to live a fun life like a 12yrs should ".
Andrew gulped hard and Maria instantly held his hand under the dinning table.
They stared at each other then at Benjamin whose eyes wasn't leaving his food even though he wasn't eating it.
He looked up at his parents and gave them a fake smile. "I'm sorry, I know I'm making it hard for you guys even when you've begged me to be understanding countless time but...it's just hard" he broke down in tears.
They stood up from their seats and walked up to their son. They gave him a hug and Maria cleaned his teary eyes.
"I'm so sorry but I will make things right….soon" Andrew muttered.
