Chapter 42: A Lame Love Story

Sienna could only wish that the dining table was more peaceful than last night. After she witnessed Lemiel's ability, she was relieved, but it didn't ease her worries fully.

But she guessed Davi would be fine for now. Julius Von Amstel seemed to be fond of the boy. Criselle was loud and noisy, but her annoyance seemed to only be caused by her confusion about the recent events, while Caius appeared indifferent about it. It was Evan she was most worried about. She was annoyed with how the vampire threw a knife at a child like that.

"Now that the confusion is cleared, I think we should throw out a soiree to welcome Davi to the family and to properly introduce him to society," said Criselle. Unlike last night, the vampiress was calm this morning.

"That would be great. So thoughtful of you, Crissie." Lemiel smiled at his sister.
