Sienna yawned. She didn't know what time it was and when she looked at the tolling clock on Lemiel's table, she noticed it was already midnight. She looked at the vampire who was writing things on the reports he had been reading earlier, but he spoke first before she could say a word.
"Yes, you are dismissed, so you can go now. I will check your work, so make sure you didn't add anything silly," he said, which made her frown.
"That, I won't dare, Master Lemiel," she said through her sleepy eyes, glaring at the vampire. She stood and neatly piled the papers and closed the book. She had marked the page where she left off to make sure she could remember where to continue.
"Good. Now, off you go."
Sienna exhaled a deep breath when she finally reached her small bed in the maids' quarters. There was a small window in her room that allowed her to catch a glimpse of the starry night outside.
