Chapter 2: Spiritual Eye Lv-1

The buildings itself was a dazzling example of advanced technology, reminiscent of a futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic. Its walls were adorned with luminescent patterns that seemed to be in a constant state of flux, shifting and changing, casting an ambient and otherworldly glow throughout the expansive space.

As Ye Fan entered his designated room it was a two-floor building at a corner that had 4 houses, and his room was 10B3, he found it to be meticulously well-appointed. It featured a plush, comfortable bed that beckoned rest, a compact yet highly functional workspace for tasks and research, and a transparent window that offered a tantalizing glimpse of the outside world. Through the window, he could see a sprawling cityscape that appeared to stretch to the horizon.

The room was equipped with its own holographic display, a versatile tool for communication, entertainment, and accessing information about Blue Star. Ye Fan was quick to explore its capabilities, navigating its user-friendly interface and marveling at the wealth of data and entertainment options it presented.

He also checked for any surveillance cameras or other stuff used to monitor him but didn't find any such things It was as if they didn't care about what he did, but completely believed that they could not escape from their clutches or could not escape from the Mind Shadow Parasite.

While Ye Fan contemplated the purpose of these rooms and their connection to the ongoing experiment, his thoughts were interrupted by a soft chime at his door. It slid open to reveal a new neighbor from the same block, a young woman with an air of curiosity around the same age as him.

"Hi there," she greeted with a friendly smile. "I'm Su Mu, your neighbor in 10B2. Just wanted to say welcome to the block. Have you settled in yet?"

Ye Fan, appreciating the warm gesture, returned the greeting. "Thank you, Su Mu. I'm Ye Fan, just getting used to the place. It's all so... extraordinary. Have you been here for long?"

Su Mu chuckled, her eyes alight with a hint of excitement. "Not too long, I think we're all here because of our awakened abilities, and I just heard that the Society is going to assign a task for us tomorrow be prepared."

"Since you're new here, I'll give you some space to settle in and get familiar with your new surroundings," Su Mu kindly suggested. "But don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything or have questions. I'm just next door in 10B2." Observing that Ye Fan was still adjusting to the environment, she decided to give him some privacy and made her way to her own room.

"While the city may appear quite substantial in size, it is home to a relatively modest population of approximately 60,000 to 70,000 residents, the majority of whom have been relocated here by the Shadow Eclipse Society like a small Base." Ye Fan made his way to a balcony, an awe-inspiring panorama unfolded before him, revealing the expansive cityscape extending far beyond the limits of the complex on one side, while on the other side, an endless expanse of ocean stretched to the horizon.

Ye Fan couldn't help but marvel at the city's bustling streets, and his thinking drifted toward many aspects such as, "These streets are like veins, alive with activity. Look at all those vehicles gliding silently on these high-tech roads."

He continued to take in the city's technological marvels, "Advanced tech is woven into every part of this place – holographic displays, energy-efficient transportation, and smart infrastructure. It's like this city breathes innovation."

Ye Fan's attention was drawn to the holographic display in his room, and he couldn't help but exclaim, "This is like a super-smart TV, but with a direct link to the Shadow Society's Network."

As he explored the various functions, he thought, "There's a whole section on talents and skills for awakened individuals. Elemental affinities, physical enhancements... mastering these will be essential for my survival."

Ye Fan's explorations into his holographic interface had yielded a wealth of information about the world of Blue Star. As he digested the details of cultivation levels, talents, and skills, he began to consider the practical applications of these newfound insights.

Ye Fan's anticipation grew, and he couldn't resist another attempt at exploring his attribute panel. With a wave of his hand, the holographic display materialized, showing his health and spiritual values as usual. However, this time, there was a notable change in the skills section.

Ye Fan's eyes widened with intrigue as he saw a new skill labeled "Spiritual Eye" on the attribute panel, and it read "Lv -0 (3/10)." He couldn't help but murmur to himself, "Spiritual Eye, a skill from my gaming days. But what's with this 'Lv -0' and the dimness?"

The Spiritual Eye had been a familiar tool in the virtual world, serving as a means to analyze and unveil hidden details. Its unexpected presence in reality intrigued Ye Fan. While the skill appeared to share similarities with the Identification skills found on Blue Star, it seemed to possess unique qualities compared to the general Identification skills. Ye Fan contemplated the implications, pondering the potential applications of this skill in the unfamiliar world around him.

As he interacted with it, he realized it required spiritual value to activate, and it seemed like he had initiated a process that would gradually reveal information about the objects or individuals he wanted to examine.

He began his exploration with enthusiasm, directing his attention to various objects within the dormitory. He thought to himself, "Let's see what this skill can reveal about these things." He hoped for detailed insights about their properties, functions, or origins.

As he conducted the identifications, however, he soon noticed a recurring pattern. Disappointment filled him as he thought, "It's just providing basic descriptions, like 'plant for plant' or 'table for table.' Not very informative but the proficiency increased slowly."

As he prepared to conduct his appraisal, he steeled himself for what he expected would be another routine response. He thought to himself, "Here we go again, probably the same old monotonous details."

However, as he selected the potted plant, the holographic display surprised him, this time, the response was far more detailed:

[ Name: Throne Vine

Description: The Throne Vine, while devoid of any special abilities, is a humble plant with unassuming appearances. It is characterized by its unadorned leaves and delicate tendrils, with a deep green hue. The leaves possess a slightly glossy texture that glistens in the ambient light.]

The appearance of this new information left Ye Fan both intrigued and encouraged. He couldn't help but exclaim, "A breakthrough! It's the first time the Appraisal skill has given me additional information."

The description provided the plant's name as "Throne Vine" and indicated that it had no special abilities. With renewed enthusiasm, he realized that his persistence and continued use of the Spiritual Eye had started to bear fruit. The level also increased from Lv-0 to Lv-1 (1/100), suggesting that the skill could be further developed.

While he had made progress in appraising physical objects in his surroundings, he was also curious about applying the skill to something more personal and intrinsic - his own talent.

With a sense of anticipation, Ye Fan decided to use the Spiritual Eye on his talent, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of its nature and perhaps unlock hidden qualities. However, to his disappointment, the response remained consistent with what he had encountered before. The skill description provided no new insights into his talent:

[ Talent: Recovery (unique)

Description: Passively recovers 1% of health and Spiritual Power every minute.]

It seemed that, for now, the Appraisal skill was unable to reveal additional layers of information about his talent. Ye Fan contemplated the possibility that raising the skill level might be the key to unlocking more comprehensive insights.
