Chapter 1: I BECAME HIS MAJESTY CONCUBINE
I don't know if I should be happy or scared, I want to escape but my hands are tied, my feet are tired from walking so I stopped abruptly. The civilian guards also stopped and looked at me at the same time.
"Consort Radisha, do you have a problem? Do you want to eat?" I shook my head while pouting, why did they choose me as the consort of the king among all the women in the kingdom? And why do I have to travel such a long distance? Where does the king live, on a mountain or something? I might die before reaching the palace.
"Let's keep walking, it's almost dark and we need to get to the palace."
"Huh?! Wait a minute.." One of the guards lifted me and put me on the back of a horse. I was nervous because I didn't know how to ride a horse.
"You don't have to walk anymore, consort. I'll leave you behind if you survive for a few days, but that doesn't mean you'll still be alive."
"What? Is there something wrong that will happen to me when I get there?"
The eunuch looked at me and then returned his gaze to the road. "You are the fifteenth consort of the king."
Why does the king need more consorts? Aren't the fourteen enough? I thought to myself.
"Okay, okay, please let me go. I don't want to have enemies there, they might resent me for taking a share in the king's heart, but I don't want that to happen."
"You won't have any competition, all of them have passed away.."
My hair stood on end.. does that mean the king killed his previous consorts? And.. am I next? I was quiet for a few minutes, realizing that the king is a murderer.
"I'm just kidding, miss. Don't take it seriously, it's not true." I felt relieved by the young guard's words. Was I too worried?

The sun was setting as we arrived at the palace. I was amazed by its beauty, it was unlike any other kingdom. Red candles lined the side of the entrance and there was a large Sakura tree standing outside. The air was fresh and quiet, and snowflakes were falling.
"This is how it is in your kingdom? It's snowing and very cold, but you won't freeze, right?" We continued to walk inside. We were quite far from the palace, and surprisingly, it was quiet.
The old eunuch stopped and faced me, I stopped as well. "You need to be presentable when you face the king, but you won't see him yet. You need to clean your body first, don't worry, the servants will help you here in the palace." I nodded. I needed to know where the king was so I could talk to him and ask him to release me.
"If you want to ask me where the king is, I can't tell you." My eyes widened, how did he know what I wanted to ask him? Was he..?
"YOUR MAJESTY!" I looked up and saw a man with long and dark hair, thick eyebrows, white skin, and a very pleasant scent. I stared at him for a long time, he did the same. But everything faded when he flicked my forehead with his finger. I ended up holding my head.
"You're the new consort, aren't you, and you're from Ming?"
"Y-Yes, your majesty," I answered while staring at his feet. Even if I didn't look at him, I could feel his gestures with his companion. I also felt that the old eunuch was no longer behind me.
"You can look at me now." I shook my head, I can't.
"I'm sorry, your majesty, but I can't -" He grabbed both of my cheeks, leaving me no choice but to look at him.
"Until now, you're still like that every time you see me, you haven't changed," he said while smiling. For a moment, I wondered what he meant. Why is my mind weak when it comes to deciphering emotions?
"Hehehe... I'm sorry, Your Highness, but I didn't understand what you were trying to convey, and I just want to clarify that this is the first time I've seen you." He quickly released my cheek and stepped back, and I heard him clear his throat. I just stood there in my position.
"Forget about it... As your consort, you have the right to add ten or more helpers who will assist you in the palace. Second..." He stopped talking, and I heard him sigh.
"Don't call me Your Highness, just call me Buqu." I don't know why, but I smiled when I heard his name, Buqu. It sounded cute, like a name for a dog. Woof woof.
"Are you smiling? Is there something funny about what I said?" I was surprised when he almost kissed me because he was too close to my face.
I immediately moved away from him. "No, Your Highness, there's nothing funny about what you said." After a few moments, I remembered what the old eunuch said.
(All of them have passed away.)
If it were true, then this was the end for me.
"Don't worry, I won't eat you because I don't like something as stale as you."
Afterwards, it's as if nothing happened. He quickly left, while my heart couldn't stop pounding. He could read my mind.
