Chapter 76: A Small Request
Eto walked towards the modern-style café where she had been summoned by her brother. She wore a simple white dress and a light shirt due to the midday warmth. Even if the weather had been cold, she wouldn't have desired to wear anything more than this.
After the meeting with the Crow Master, the Aogiri Tree organization had undergone many changes. Those Ghouls who considered themselves disposable had undergone rigorous training. When Eto thought about this, she unconsciously thought of her brother since he had met the Crow Master long before his power escalated in such an unstoppable manner. If they were to choose him as a guide, they needed to verify many more things, and that was her current state of mind.
Who is stronger, Arima or the Crow Master? Eto was very curious about this because she believed the answer would be crucial in considering him as the successor to the One-Eyed King—a tremendously powerful figure capable of taking control of the Ghoul world. The answer did not disappoint her.
"The Crow Master would surely win in a life-or-death battle... I had never seen a Ghoul like him, using the knowledge of a CCG agent to his advantage and then implementing it in battle," thought Eto as she sat across from her brother.
Kenzo looked at his sister with a profound silence hidden in his eyes, giving her that loneliness that surrounded their distant relationship. His gaze was calm, conveying to his sister that he was very comfortable with their meeting.
"Was it difficult to fit my request into your busy schedule?" Kenzo asked as he waved his hand, and a waitress immediately approached with coffee, various cakes and pastries, as well as some overly flashy desserts.
"Since when do you treat your sister so well?" Eto asked, slightly intrigued. She quickly selected a carrot cake and began to eat it.
Kenzo smiled slightly, then said, "I'm going to South Korea for some business. I need to expedite things in that country, and besides, I need something from the South Koreans."
"Why are you telling me this? As far as I remember, we haven't been that close, and you seemed to make your point clear by not following your adorable sister. Don't tell me, are you looking for something from me?" Eto asked, slightly surprised, completely feigning that reaction hidden behind her personality facade.
Kenzo noticed this, but it didn't bother him much because there wasn't much he could do to change it. All he wants to believe is that his sister wasn't entirely pretending to be with him; it would be somewhat gratifying to discover. Without having a clear way to say it, Kenzo decided to be natural and mentioned, "Now, with the union of our two organizations, I must consider expanding to other states and eventually taking control of the country. I want to believe that with Aogiri's help, I can take over all of Tokyo without any problem. Am I wrong, dear sister?"
Eto was a little surprised, frowned and asked, "Why are you talking as if you are the famous Crow Master, dear brother?"
