Chapter 16:          HEART WRENCH

 Biting her lips to suppress the bitterness and the bile in her throat, Summer nodded with a smile

"I understand Chris, you have my blessings"

Chris got surprised and he felt a slight ache in his heart seeing her indifference

"Summer please don't be like this"

He pleaded. She was behaving like a pro animated machine, devoid of feelings and expression.

What he didn't know was that, that was the facade she put on to hide her broken self.

"Like what?

Summer asked in an oblivious manner

"Acting like you do not care about....."

"Honey? A soft melodic voice rang out interrupting Chris, the owner looking pretty like a doll and face like an innocent little girl devoid of schemes. just like a white lotus, Diane walked closer to Chris, linking her arms with his coquettishly.

Her eyes then settled upon Summer and a look of viciousness flashed in them before it quickly turned to that of surprise and shock.
