Chapter 5: Chapter 5

As the bandits entered the room, their rough hands grabbing hold of me, I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. In a split second, I mustered all my strength and delivered a swift punch to the bandit closest to me, catching him off guard. The blow landed with a satisfying thud, and the bandit stumbled backward, clutching his nose in pain.

Seizing the opportunity, I made a desperate dash towards the door, my heart pounding in my chest. But before I could reach the safety of the outside world, the bandit leader let out a booming laugh, his eyes filled with amusement and malice. In one swift motion, he grabbed his bow from his back and notched an arrow, taking aim at me.

Time seemed to slow down as the arrow whizzed through the air, finding its mark with deadly accuracy. It pierced through my waist, causing searing pain to radiate through my body. I cried out in agony, collapsing to the ground, my vision blurring as darkness threatened to consume me once again.

The bandit leader approached me, a sadistic smile playing on his lips. "You thought you could escape, did you?" he taunted, his voice dripping with cruel satisfaction. "Well, my friend, it seems your journey ends here."

As the pain intensified, I fought against the encroaching darkness, summoning every ounce of strength I had left. With a trembling voice, I managed to utter a defiant response. "You may have captured me, but you will never break me," I declared.

The bandit leader's laughter echoed through the room, a chilling sound that sent shivers down my spine. "We shall see about that," he sneered, his eyes glinting with a sadistic pleasure. "But for now, you are at our mercy."

"Fuck you!" I spat through clenched teeth, glaring daggers at my tormentors. "Your threats do not frighten me."

The leader laughed mirthlessly. "We'll see about that." He dragged the blade slowly down my arm, drawing a thin line of red. I refused to flinch, though pain shot through my body.

"Had enough yet, pretty boy?" he jeered. I remained silent, steeling my resolve. My stoic response only seemed to anger him further. He reared back and punched me hard in the gut. I doubled over, gasping for breath.

Through watering eyes, I saw the other bandit watching with bored disinterest. "Get on with it, Lucian. I've better things to do than watch you play."

Lucian considered me with an arrogant sneer. "Not much sport in breaking this one, is there?" He threw me back to the floor with contempt. "We'll finish our fun later, whelp."

****Some Time Later****

As my senses returned, the first thing I noticed was the throbbing pain in my side. I dared not move for fear of exacerbating the injury, taking stock of my surroundings instead.

I was locked in a dimly lit cell, stone walls closing in on all sides. The smell of damp and decay hung thick in the air. Distant voices filtered in - the bandits, no doubt. Their crude jokes and threats sent a fresh wave of dread through me.

My situation seemed dire indeed, yet I refused to surrender to despair. As long as I drew breath, there was hope. I focused on the sound of dripping water, letting its steady rhythm soothe my frayed nerves.

Time crawled by in an agonizing fashion. My tormentors visited frequently, hurling insults and idle threats. I gave them no reaction, staring impassively through the bars until they grew bored and left me in peace once more.

Night fell. I drifted in and out of restless sleep, plagued by feverish dreams. When dawn's first light crept over the horizon, I was awoken by the shrieking sounds of an argument outside my cell.

"...No more room in the east hall." That was Riker, Lucian's right-hand man. "Put her in with the dwarf."

"Garl? Bah, she'll last a tenth of a day at most. That one's got fire, I'll give her that." Lucian's disdainful laugh.

"How about pretty boy over there?" Riker motions towards me.

Renewed purpose blocked out pain. I peered through the bars to see them dragging a limp form of a woman to my cell. But this woman is something out of a fantasy story, a dark-skinned woman of average height. She has red narrow eyes with long, defined eyelashes, and straight white hair reaching her thighs with bangs that part to the left of her face. While slender and curvaceous in frame, she also sports a lean, athletic and well-defined build, especially in her arms and legs. She has long white rabbit ears pointing upwards above her head, along with a small and white round tail, giving her an overall resemblance to an albino rabbit.

"Hey pretty boy, we got a friend for hahaha!" Lucian laughed.
