Chapter 46: part 45

Third Person POV

+

5 Years Later.

It was early in the morning and everyone was asleep, except for the security and a little girl who made it her life mission to be the one to wakes her parents every morning.

She came running into her parents' bedroom, and jumped in between them.

She hugged each one of them for a while in attempt to wake them up, but when they didn't, she jumped on her father who was sleeping on his stomach. The little girl laid on his back and hugged his neck from behind before she started nagging him to wake up.

"Was ist es, kleine?" Her father asked, groggily. (What is it, baby girl?)

"Papa, Ela habe Hunger." The little girl whined. (Papa, Ela is hungry.)

"Go back to sleep, Ela." Reprimanded her mother sleepingly.

"Ooof, Mama, aufwachen!" The little one urged dramatically. (Ooof, mama, wake up already!)

"Geh zu Onkel, kleine." Her father told her. (Go to your uncle, baby girl.)

"No!" She refused.

When neither of them woke, she rose up from her laying position on her father's back and started jumping up and down on the space between them.

"Fine, I'm up. I'm up." Said her father with his hands up in the air as he turned on his back and sat up. "Go to uncle Müller, we'll be right there." He told her.

The little girl smiled in victory as she saw he was really awake, "love you, papa." She said and gave him his morning kiss.

When she was gone, he started waking his wife up. "Come on, honey! We better clean up before that little demon comes back." He told her.

"We better." Admitted his wife while stretching.

The couple could hear the happy laughter of their little girl from the dinning all as they come down from the stairs.

"Gisela Ingrid Knights! Come down right this moment!" Snapped Emma at the five years old who was hanging down dangerously from Müller's neck.

"But, mama!" Whined the little girl.

"Don't make me repeat myself, young lady!" Emma glared at her daughter.

"Papa!" Gisela sought help from her father who was desperately trying to keep his smile to himself.

"Honey, I think it's-"

"Don't you dare complete that sentence." Emma turned her glare to her husband.

The little girl's father turned his attention swiftly to his daughter. "Your mother's right, come down." He her.

The little girl huffed before she climbed down from Müller's body with his help. "You're no fun, Daddy." She glanced at her father briefly to show him how upset she was that he took her mother's side.

"What did I tell you about climbing things up?" Emma scolded.

"That's why I climbed uncle Müller's back, Momma." Said Gisela.

The little girl was just way too smart for her age, her statement was meant to tell her mother that Müller was not a thing so she did not disobey her.

"Ela, don't let me catch you climbing things again, or humans for that matter. Else you won't attend your friends' tea parties for a week neither will you hold your own." Warned Emma.

"But, Momma!"

"Go eat your breakfast so that your father drops you to your kindergarten on his way." Emma told her daughter.

Gisela huffed before walking to her designated table and climbed it up with Müller's help.

"Honey, you know she was okay with Müller, right? He wouldn't let any harm come to her." Her husband told her after their little girl was out of hearing range. He wanted to reassure her when he saw that the fear for the their little one was still evident in her eyes.

"I know, but I don't want her to get used to doing stunts like that. She would think it's okay to do it with everybody else and she may get hurt if she does. She's still just a five years old no matter how smart she is, there are things her little mind doesn't reach." Emma said.

"I know where you're coming from, but she's never alone. Müller and her bodyguards are always around her 24/7, she's in good hands." He told her.

Emma heaved a sigh, nodding her head at him. Then they headed to the dinning table where Ela was forcing Müller to feed her.

"You too are just as hopeless as her father when it comes to her." Emma shook her head with a smile on her face as she looks at her daughter lovingly.

"She knows how to get what she wants." Müller said, looking at the smiling child. "It's not easy to refuse those eyes and dimples." He added, ruffling the little girl's hair.

"See, I'm not the only one who can't resist them." Said her husband.

"My little angel's causing a ruckus again." Came a new deep voice of a man.

"Son, you woke up." Said Emma.

"Giu!" Exclaimed the hyper kid.

Giuseppe headed towards his mother and kissed her forehead before going to Ela who was jumping up and down in her seat with her arms stretched out for him. He lifted her up and spun her around and kissed her head. "Guten Morgen, little angel." He greeted. (Good morning.)

"Giu, uncle Müller put me on his neck!" Ela informed him excitedly.

"Climbed him up is more accurate." Said Emma, shaking her head.

Giuseppe chuckled at his mother's statement. The mother and daughter were always in war. The little one was too much adventurous for Emma's liking and her stunts were on daily basis which led Emma to keep her under her eyes always so that she doesn't get hurt.

"Why are you still here? Aren't you supposed to be in the company by this time?" Questioned Adam sternly.

Giuseppe turned to his father when he heard his stern tone. He caressed the back of his neck, looking a bit nervous. "I slept in." He answered.

"Did you drink last night?" Adam raised an eyebrow, daring him to say yes.

"No, dad." He answered, horrified. Just imagining the consequences of getting wasted.

His adoptive father was quite stern in his upbringing, but Giuseppe understood that he was doing it all for him.

He never thought of his father's ways with him as cruel or discriminating because he was adopted, quite the opposite actually, he knew that he was being this way because he wanted him to make something out of himself. That Adam was treating him like this because he really saw him as his real child.

"Then?" Asked Adam.

"I worked late last night preparing for the board directors' meeting today, and forgot setting the alarm up." He explained.

"Go ahead then, I'll be there once I drop Ela off to the kindergarten." Adam told his son.

"Let him have his breakfast at least." Emma told her husband.

"He can have it on his way to the company." He told her.

"I'm okay, mom. I'll head out first then." Giuseppe assured his mother.

"Wait, I'll tell the cook to pack it up for you." She told him.

"No need, I'll just pick something up on my way to the office." He told her.

"You either wait to go with it or your father will bring it to you with him." She told him.

"Alright then, but tell him to make it quick. I'm late." Giuseppe gave in.

Emma nodded her at him before she went to tell the chef.

Few minutes later she came back with a lunch box in her hand. "You shouldn't make a habit of eating restaurants' food. It's unhealthy." She handed him the box.

"Okay, mom." He kissed her forehead goodbye.

"Momma, can I go with Giu?" Ela came to them.

"Not today, sweetheart, your brother's late. You'll go with your father." Emma told her.

Giuseppe lifted the little girl up with his free hand when he saw how she pouted when Emma denied her.

He kissed her head before he spoke. "Tomorrow I'll drop you off, okay my angel?" Gisela smiled widely at her brother and nodded her head in agreement.

Giuseppe let her down and kissed his mother forehead once again before heading out.
