Chapter 24: Time Skip (2)

Morsan convinced others by claiming he had found those potions in an unknown ruin deep in the forest. He believed that during the upcoming period of activation on Cal Mira Island, his EXP elixir would fetch the highest price, while the recovery potion would be sold for the lowest amount.

In the activation period, the experience bonus doubles when monsters are killed. This causes monsters to have a shorter life cycle, mature faster, and breed at an accelerated rate, resulting in an explosion of the monster population. This allows people to easily reach level eighty just by grinding on the islands, but the efficiency drops dramatically after that.

Adventurers, governments, and other interested parties take advantage of this period to increase their levels. If they see an EXP potion, they will try to buy it even at a high cost.

However, during an auction, it was discovered that the high-grade recovery potion Morsan provided was several times more effective than the high-grade holy water provided by the church. Even a drop from a high-grade potion can purify a strong curse.

This brought a lot of attention from the church and other important factions, ultimately leading to the church buying that potion for 25 gold pieces. Morsan's EXP potion and unique potion were sold to an unknown group of people for only 15 gold pieces each. Leinny suspected that the group must belong to one of the royal family members.

After that incident, news about Morsan began to spread throughout the Melromarc kingdom, reaching even places outside of the Caste Town. Because of his lie, many young people started exploring dangerous ruins, resulting in numerous casualties.

Morsan felt guilty as he learned about their deaths.

Despite extensive research, no one could figure out how to mass produce or replicate those potions Morsan sold. The ingredients used to create them remained a mystery. There were also rumors circulating that the recovery potion Morsan sold was made from the blood of a sacred being.

Following the auction, Morsan discovered his affinity for Enhancement magic and Healing magic through a magic Crystal Ball. Surprisingly, the Crystal Ball didn't mention anything about his affinity for blood magic. Once he mastered his new martial arts and sword skills, he shifted his focus to magic.

With the help of a newly acquired magic book and Tizona's vast magical knowledge, he made remarkable progress in his magical abilities.

A month later, the prince of Melromarc invited him to express gratitude for the potion he had purchased. Yes, a prince, not a princess. It was another difference Morsan noticed in this world compared to what he had seen in anime.

Melromarc boasts not one, but two princesses - Melty and Malty - as well as a prince named Egone who, despite being born later than Malty, is the first in line for succession as the middle child.

The country is ruled by a queen, Mirellia, due to its feminist values. Queen Mirellia is working to improve the lives of Demi-Humans in Melromarc and establish peace with the Demi-Human nation, Siltvelt. She has even granted nobility to those who share her views and created a protected village for Demi-Humans. This has led to a decade of peace with Siltvelt, and even inspired them to create a protected village for humans.

The recent announcement of Prince Egone's marriage to a noble from Siltvelt caused quite a stir, with some reacting positively and others, particularly nobles supported by the church and king's faction, opposing it.

Two days ago, some unknown individuals attempted to assassinate Prince Egone by poisoning his food, but he survived thanks to a potion he had purchased from an auction a month prior.

In preparation for the upcoming activation period, Prince Egone had purchased an EXP potion, Morsan sold in auction, which came with unique poison immunity positions that greatly improved his resistance to poison.

Morsan met Prince Egone inside a carriage adorned with a royal flag. The prince, who had purple hair and was dressed in royal attire, welcomed Morsan with a friendly smile, gesturing for him to take a seat opposite him. This was the first time Morsan had met a child with such a mature aura, and he was impressed.

During their brief conversation, Morsan discovered that the prince was not only mature but also sly and intelligent. He learned that the marriage proposal between the prince and a noble from Siltvelt had been canceled due to an assassination attempt, resulting in tension on the border of Melromarc. It seemed the King of Melromarc suspected Siltvelt in that incident.

Prince Egone invited Morsan to participate in an upcoming activation period, an offer that Morsan couldn't refuse since it could save him a lot of money. However, he didn't realize that this decision would cost him his peaceful life in the future.

Due to his bloodline fusion, battle arts training, and recent progress in magic, Morsan had become quite the monster without even realizing it.

His first magic technique was [Blood Manipulation], which allowed him to control the blood inside living things within 50 meters of him. Although it required a lot of magic power each time, Morsan wasn't too concerned about his MP since each [Blood Carnival] helped him absorb the corrupted mana that remained in the astral panel.

On the journey to Cal Mira Island alongside Prince Egone, Morsan encountered an elderly woman named Elrasla Ragnarok.

Interestingly, she claimed that her level was equivalent to her age. It was the second time, Morsan met someone significant to the storyline of the rising of the shield hero, apart from the bald weapon Smith.

Elrasla became intrigued by Morsan's body-strengthening technique known as 'Adi Mara' and bombarded him with numerous questions about it. Due to her unwavering thirst for martial arts despite her age, Tizona affectionately referred to her as 'Lively Baba'.

Surprisingly, Morsan's 'Adi Mara' technique harmonized exceptionally well with Elrasla's Hengen Musou. Being the sole successor of the Hengen Musou martial arts style, she shared her story with Morsan.
