Chapter 22: Conversation

Whoosh!

Aurora's sword moved quickly towards the old man's neck.

Surprisingly enough, before the sword even hit his neck, his neck had already begun to split.

Charlotte looked a little shocked as she saw the scene.

Her expression showed that she was getting more and more interested.

Shua!

The sword easily passed through the old man's neck, separating his head and body.

With no strength left, the old man's life aura disappeared very quickly.

It was also because Aurora's sword destroyed his soul as it passed through his neck.

A Fifth Stage True God could be said to be quite prestigious. Ordinary people had a hard time seeing one, but now there was one dead, beheaded by a Paragon.

Who knew if any other Paragons had ever killed a Fifth Stage True God.

Aurora's expression did not change at all after killing one True God.

She then looked at Charlotte.

"Do you also want to try my sword?" she asked, making the audience take a deep breath.

They thought that this girl was really good at provoking.

What worried them was that Charlotte was really angry but was taking her anger out on others.

Fortunately, the woman was smiling again.

"By the way, there's something I want to talk to you about, follow me," she said.

Apparently she didn't respond to Aurora's words. She grabbed the young girl's hand before pulling her away, leaving the True God's corpse behind.

Moments later, they arrived at a fancy restaurant in a random city.

They sat directly beside the window, and just the word Heaven on their foreheads was enough to make the restaurant boss provide them with the finest wine.

It just so happened that they just wanted a drink.

"What do you want to talk about?" asked Aurora as she drank her wine, looking Charlotte directly in the eye.

"How is your relationship with Jellal at the moment?" Charlotte asked back.

Aurora knitted her brows slightly at the question.

"Is this a topic you want to talk about?" she asked.

"Just answer my question," Charlotte replied.

"Our relationship is very good, of course." Aurora was still answering and just stating the truth. Their relationship was indeed very good.

"Do you love him as a partner?" Charlotte continued the question.

Aurora looked increasingly annoyed, but not wanting Charlotte to ask her to answer one more time, she answered, "yes."

"I heard you had a childhood friend who fell in love with you. Have you forgotten about your childhood friend?"

"Why do I need to forget him? I didn't have any special feelings for him to begin with."

"That's different from the story I heard. In the sect where you grew up, it is said that you and that man are a match made in heaven. Isn't that man's talent also amazing, having created many miracles."

"All the stories you've heard are just nonsense created by fools who speak as they please."

"I see. Even so, I'm still confused as to why you accepted Jellal so quickly. That's not pretend, right?" Charlotte looked sharply into Aurora's eyes when she asked that.

"What do you mean by saying I'm pretending?" Aurora also started to get angry.

"No, I have no particular suspicion of you. You are a woman of the Heaven Race, and I'm sure your heart views the Heaven Race as the greatest thing. However, we know that there are many women of our Race who claim to only love Jellal, but actually have the goal of getting close to him because he has the potential to become the strongest." Charlotte explained her thoughts calmly.

"Hmph, you can speculate all you want," Aurora replied, snorting coldly.

"Jellal knows very well whether I love him or not. And, do you think I'm unworthy of being his companion from the Race of Heaven? Let's wonder, who is more worthy than me to be Jellal's companion if he becomes the strongest in the future?"

"I believe I am more worthy than you. I admit you have great talent and beauty, you might be my equal, but Jellal will definitely look up to me," Charlotte replied.

"You?" Aurora's eyes widened, looking at Charlotte with disbelief.

"How can you say such nonsense?" Aurora asked her.

Aurora wondered who was more worthy than among the women of the Heaven Race.

However, she was actually referring to the younger women, not Charlotte who was the senior generation, one generation with her father and Jellal's father.

It wouldn't be wrong if she said that Charlotte was talking nonsense.

"You think it's nonsense, but did you know that it's Jellal's ambition, he told me himself," Charlotte replied casually.
