Chapter 45: Where did it go?
After my discussion with the Doctor I had for once very little to do. In the month I had been here I had united the Serpents Hand, had a cult of about 575,000 members and had begun my path to godhood. But there was one thing I was concerned about.
Where is the system?
In my interactions with say wanting to take over the criminal underworld I would get a quest like "(Al Cap-pone)" or something like that. Instead it has been silent. Even now when trying to activate an inquiry it had pretty much completely shut off.

My (Status) at the very least worked so it was still there just not responding to me. Checking my avaliable (Quest)s I wondered if that was what was making it stop. I immediately ruled tat out however when I realized that I had about 9 (Quest)s at some point and only had about 2 avaliable. Speaking of which I wanted to view them.

This was a long term goal and would be a great proving ground for any MTF Units to test out their abilitys after their modifications with the Doctor.

The way to do this is by understanding the world and the abnormalities that occur within it to unlock the journal. Ultimately you must defeat or stop the events from occuring, defeat them or run. In the end the only thing that matters is survival.

Now a few things.
The system likes to be subtle sometimes
So when it up and says "Gain Trait (Humanitys Last Hope) I have to wonder how fucked I am do to how unsubtle this is.
The Foundation and G.O.C. probably have their own strengths mainly against anamolys.
So for them to not even count as a "Hope" makes me wonder how fucked I am.
Now however I needed that journal opened more then ever. So I needed that list of SCPs we have, increase it and assign researchers to then take a glance and absorb all the information on it. One thing I picked out was according to the (Quest) I needed to have "understanding of the world" and apparently

Infinity garners totality and you must be one able to understand it if you have even a hope of encapsilatining it. You have understood totality in the moment you understood it unfortunately that moment has passed. As you know infinity is ever expanding and as such tobuse to its fullest extent must be understood constantly. Fotunately for you even just understanding infinity for a moment is enough to elevate yourself.
Somehow this didn't count. Knowing the laws of the universe didn't count.
How high are this books standards what does it want me to answer. Am I supposed to understand the voi- wait. The void. After all why would it count? Why would nothing be included in the skill. Why would you have to understand nothing if nothing both exists and dosen't at the same time.
And that's when it made sense. To know the unnowable, to understand non-existence, being able to comprehend nothingness. The skill never eluded to this since I had never tried to ckmperhend it. What more can you comprehend of reality when there's no reality? The problem wasn't understanding "standard" laws of reality. It was understanding the anomalies in existence. And what is more abnormal then the concept of a space of non-existence. Unfortunately it turns out that in the MULTIVERSE there were only 12 books on the subject. All of which after skimming through covered the same core topic. What is the void? Howdoes it work? And why does it exist? Problem being they all had radically theorys on the subject.
In every single one of their expeditions or research into the thing they came up with mass casualties. And I mean you go in with a research team of 50 and you only come out with 2 kind of mass casualties. Monitoring equitment was severely limited do to the nature of the boid. So naturally the question of how to you measure something that dosen't exist comes up.

" (Been stuck in there for centurys.) So he had to have some knowledge on it. When I went to go visit him I found something peculiar. I had expected Gaster in the few days of being assigned to the potato dimension SCP to have maybe gotten a twinkle of understanding. What I did not expect was Gaster to be fiddling with a machine the size of a refrigerator, a pole with what looked like was a satellite and a bunch of mechanical looking rings that looked to fit around your wrist.
The researchers originally assigned here were met with electric garble by Gaster whenever they touched anything. Which was rather hard considering all the ring looking things were scattered around the floor. I stood there observing everything and trying to decipher these machines that honestly looked like they were plastered together without a thought. Of course Gaster being to enthralled in his work didn't notice me. But the researchers trying to reasearch the potato sack while trying not to anger Gaster did.
They of course put down their equitment before saying, "How can we help you Overse- Ruler of the Library." They said as they then cringed in pain. I glanced at them saying, "him" before walking off towards Gaster. The guy was still as slidge like as ever and didn't even notive me as I walked towards him. Upon being behind him I glanced over at what they were working on and found a daevice showing readings of some kind.
Wondering what they were I asked, "What's all this about?" Gaster unaware of my arrival did what looked like a jump as his body stretched upwards a tiny bit. He looked back and seeing me seemingly grew giddy. Although I was skeptical as this machine needed to be tested to affirm Gasters claims.
"Do you have any logs or videos I can watch to see how it works?" I asked as straight up saying "Are you SURE it works?" Would probably be insulting for no reason as even if it didn't just getting such big insights on dimensional travel in a week is a miracle.

To which it said it would open a portal right on top of the potato sacks and cause a singularity.)
"I think you know this, but don't cause a singularity. Secondly what is your knowledge based off of?" I now pondered the possibility of Gasters knowledge being several years if not decades behind since he was erased from existence.

"That it?" I was honestly baffled at how Gaster only had the bare minimun when it came to being a scientist. Yet was so heavily specialized into Timelines, Dimensions and multiversal theory.
Before Gaster could even respond I said. "I am assigning you to Miss J until you have learned literally EVERYTHING related to science. I will not allow you to be assigned to a project that could doom the world when you barely have the minimun in scientific know how." I instantly interupted Gasters response by taking him by the hand??? And power walking towards Miss J. Upon my arrival I walked into a class teaching ambush techniques as miss J looked absolutely miserable, or at least seemed less joyful.
Noticing my arrival she looked hopeful and said, "That's all for today. Have a good rest of your day." It seemed forced with how she said that no doubt tired.
The guards now noticing my presence saluted before orderly walking out of the classroom in a single file line. Now inside the very goopy man Gaster himself looked at Miss J's touchpad curiosly. As he was inspecting it Miss J asked. "How can I help you?" In a more chipper tone then when the guards were learning ambush tactics. "Gaster here needs some updates in his scientific knowledge as he is messing with Quantum Physics while not even having an updated understanding in it." I drawl out wondering how he was able to even make the machine in the first place.
Miss J seemed even more happy at this outcome and asked me, "do you wish for me to put him through the same training as George and David?" She was somehow buzzing within the screen of the tablet. "Yes, and put in anything extra you think he may require." I answered as Miss J started with her jntroductory course. What was most intriguing however was how Gaster electric garble known as Wing Dings was spoken by her through speach bubbles on the screen and the garble coming out the speaker.
Walking out of the room before Gaster attempted to question me I put on the to do list to get a projector to allow Miss J's program to transfer to it for teaching. Putting that order to engineering I continued my walk through the halls.
(I'm back baby took a lil bit and ended my break short as I wanted to get back to writing. My brain juice is running and I am not that excited for the next chapter as I need to find that page about all those SCPs in Site-88 again.)
Note: I have realized that maybe the reason I've been having progressively more trouble taking the time to write these is because they've gone from about 1,200 words per chapter to about 1,800 words per chapter. I'm not gonna stop writing long chapters because I find having a larger storyline that dosen't give you tiny specs of content. And instead a larger chunk much more enjoyable to write and read kinda like an episode than a 60 second clip of a show.
