Chapter 27: Real Confession

Upon Stepping aside to let someone else do the talking, immediately all attention was focused on Sisi, my personal maid.

"Old madame, this maid is lying.. our young Missy didn't do such and she is being framed!"

"I also believe that my Mei Mei would never do such but I need solid evidence, if you do have then tell us now!" Grandmother said and immediately Sisi pointed at the purse filled with money that belonged to the frail maid.

"As everyone knows, the third missy is well taken care of and dotted by the old madame.. even to the point that, her lady's stipend are all in cold tael.. no silver stipend was ever sent to our residence but yet this maid claims to have been given a silver stipend by my lady!"

Sisi stated the first fact that shocked the people present in the room.

Even Ming Xia who didn't expect such, her face was quite relaxed and calm for someone who's plan was about to fall drastically.

Just then, Hui Li spoke out, "Exactly mother, you never give Mei Mei any thing in silver.. how could she possibly pay this maid in silver and not just that, look at the brown old purse used for the money... There's no way my Mei Mei would have such an ugly purse!"

Thank you mother, you just helped me complete this so easily.

Finally stepping forward, I then said aloud, "Grandmother, I remember that years ago you had made a custom made design for each of us... Both I and Ming

"What about it?" She inquired.

"Well by design was that of roses meaning that all my materials and purses had the same custom made designs embroidered on them but if you take a closer look at the purse... No design is made and only one person is not without a custom design!"

I declared as all eyes then immediately turned to Ming Xia who tried her Best to keep cool and not panic.

Choosing to play the victim, she then said, "And what do you mean by that Ming Mei.. just because I am without a custom design doesn't prove that I'm the culprit!"

"I never said you were the culprit but yet you seem quite eager to object to my words."

"Y-you.."

"Enough!" The old Madame shouted slightly as she placed her fingers on her forehead. She was having a huge headache.

This was supposed to be a matter they could settle calmly, even though one of her grandchildren were the culprits.. the prince must not be aware of their entire family would be affected.

Seeing how things was going, Ming Ciao then stepped in, "Grandmother, everyone saw how Ming Mei had defended Jin Ling, she couldn't possibly had tried to hurt him.. talk less of hurt the third prince who she fancies.. that's just ridiculous!"

"We should give this maid a beating of her life, how dare she spout such nonsense.. Guards!" Hui Li Called the guards, "Take her away and beat her along with the members of her family to death.."

She said angrily and they nodded, upon hearing that, the maid started to panic as she screamed to be freed and saved but no one objected to Hui Li cruel methods.

And in that moment, the maid shouted once more, "I will confess," but a more genuinely this time around.

"Confess what? Haven't you confessed enough lies!" Ling shouted.

"N-n-no please.. forgive me old Madame,Y-y-yes I lied... B-but- I'm ready to confess the truth.. please spare my family, I beg of you.." she cried out, her face raining tears nonstop.

And seeing that I immediately felt relived.

"Grandma let's give her a chance to speak," I pleaded as the old Madame then nodded and with that, the guards let go of her hands.

"Speak!"

Gulping down a little, he finally confessed as she pointed her hands towards no one other than Ming Xia.

"S-she.. it was the first lady who had ordered me to lie and tell everyone that it was the third Missy who was responsible for the well incident."

She as the entire room was the filled with murmurs and gasp.

Quickly getting on her kneels, Ming Xia cried out in crocodile tears, "Grandmother I am being accused falsely, please seek justice for me.."

She cried out as the old Madame just frowned in anger... "Take the maid away.. flog her 20 times and throw her away from my mansion!"

She commanded as the guards nodded and dragged her away.

Getting back to Ming Xia, the old Madame then said< "Wether or not you are the real culprit, the entire evidence falls on you so you will be punished according."

Facing everyone, the old Madame then said aloud, "Ming Xia stipend for a year will be put on hold and she is grounded from leaving her quarters until further notice!"

"Yes old Madame!" Ling replied as she bowed.

She said as she then stood up and made her way out while escorting the third prince.

With the old Madame gone, those present started to leave one by one as my mom and Ming Ciao both walked towards me.

Meanwhile my eyes were fixed on Jin Ling who was just quietly walked away.

I felt like running towards him but I couldn't. I wonder what he was thinking, I just some where in my heart wished he wasn't worried about the female lead.
