Chapter 2: Chapter 2 – Hachi Shimizu
Third person POV
Later, in the afternoon, Akira and Miki decided to go on a hike so Akira would become better from his grief. It was 3 in the afternoon, and they got permission from their parents to hike the nearby mountainsides north of the village, and they promised to return before sundown. And so, with backpacks containing their emergency tools, the two siblings left the house and set off to the mountains. They and their parents loved hiking, and Ian himself had come from a family of farmers living in the mountains of Luzon.
Along the way in a mountain trail, they looked at the beauty of their surroundings all the while Akira was feeling better bit by bit every minute. They then stopped under a tree to eat some snacks. Their favorite snacks are always mochi and bubble milk tea, especially when the latter was made at home. After 15 minutes, they get up and continued on with their backpacks.
At 5:55 p.m., after going around the mountainside, they decided to go back and took the same trail as last time. But, along the way, Akira and Miki got separated for a few meters because Akira heard somethings rustling in the bushes. So, he went off the trail to check it out. And then, upon clearing the bushes, he found a boy, with black hair and red eyes and dressed in hospital-like clothes, breathing heavily while laying on the grass.
"Who's that guy?" Akira asked in his mind.
He then went closer and asked the boy, "Um, are you okay, kid?"
But then, the boy looked at him and stared with a hangry feeling, as if he hasn't eaten for days.
"Blood...," he uttered in a low voice.
"What?" Akira responded.
But suddenly, the boy charged at him and lunges forward, causing him to dodge it quickly.
"Woah, what?" Akira responded to this.
The boy then looked at him, before turning around in a fury-like state.
"Blood!" he shouted at the young biracial.
He then pointed his hand at Akira and red vines of rays fired from it.
Akira then dodged that as well, and started running away, causing the boy to chase him.
Meanwhile, Miki continue walking when Akira shouted, "Miki-chan, run!"
Upon hearing that, the girl turned around and responded, "What?"
She then saw Akira being chased by that boy.
Akira then said the word run in Tagalog.
This causes Miki to turn back and run as well.
Now both of them are being chased by that bloodthirsty boy, Hachi Shimuzu, an orphan from Yokohama who was disposed by an evil organization known as the Kara Tech due to him being a failed experiment.
This chase last for a few minutes until, Akira and Miki are being cornered at a tree. Hachi was furious, and his vampire fangs came out. This scares the heck out of the two siblings.
"Are those fangs?" Akira asked in his mind in despair.
They can't escape now.
Hachi is getting closer and closer, craving for their human blood.
"Blood…" he uttered again.
As Miki holds onto him, Akira began to think fast, before having an idea of giving himself to Hachi.
"Miki, let go of me," he said to Miki.
Miki did, and she asked, "Why, oni-chan?"
In response, Akira took off his backpack and rolled up the left short sleeve of his blue t-shirt, showing his left shoulder.
"Here, you want blood?" he said to Hachi.
Hachi then stopped approaching and instead looked at him casually. "Huh?"
"Here, drink mine," Akira replied back. "Drink as much as you want."
Seeing this, Miki was shocked. "W-What are you doing?" "
"This is for you, sis," Akira replied.
Eventually, Hachi jumped towards him and bit him in the left shoulder, drinking his blood. Both boys then struck against the tree, and they fell to the ground as Hachi kept on drinking his blood. Miki watches this with shock in her eyes.
