Chapter 4: That's your job
Derrick sat properly as he tried to digest what he had just heard.
"Hold up bro, you mean she is the girl from twenty years ago"?
He asked his brother in bewilderment.
"And you recognized her immediately? Haa come on, how is that even possible? Come on bro It's been ages".
Jason looked at his brother but said nothing and then suddenly, he looked lost in his thoughts.
*** Five days ago ***
Someone knocked at Jason's door requesting to see him. Jason answered with a 'hmm' and the person walked in.
It was Jason's personal bodyguard, Miguel. Miguel bowed lightly and went straight to the point.
"Boss I have found the man who joined hands with Mr Omil to take money away from the delivery company".
"But"?
Jason asked as though he already knew something was wrong.
"He is soaked in debt and can't pay for what they stole. It appears he is addicted to gambling".
Jason raised his head lightly but his face had a very cold expression. That was obviously not what he wanted to hear. First, those two men had the guts to steal from the famous devil, and not just that, the mastermind has not even been found yet and the one they've found is claiming to be broke after getting away with almost a million dollars.
Miguel didn't wait for his boss to say something before he moved to the next thing he wanted to say.
He removed a picture from a file that he was holding and then placed it on Jason's table.
Jason looked at the picture and just briefly, his eyes opened wide before he closed it calmly. When he opened his eyes again, he was already back to his cold state.
"What is this"?
"Mr. Omil's accomplice said he could give her to you as payment".
Miguel knew his boss hated such statements and would definitely not agree with them. He also knew that he was probably being stupid by bringing this up. Even to him, it sounded wrong but he had to report everything to his boss.
"Take her and find Mr. Omil before midnight".
The first statement Jason made surprised Miguel. He never thought his boss would agree to get paid with a girl. This was a boss who was rumored gay of course he didn't believe his boss was gay but he still couldn't wrap his head around it.
Knowing that he had work to do, he said 'Yes boss', bowed, and left.
Jason picked up the picture and looked at that innocent smile. That innocent smile that he would never forget.
"Finally, I finally found you".
***Back to the present time***
"Yo, bro say something will you"?
Derrick tried to pry. Seeing how his brother already believed that she was the girl he had been looking for, he knew it was true but he still wanted to know more.
Jason looked at his brother in a cold way which made Derrick raise his hand in defeat. It was obvious that his brother was not ready to say anything else.
"Don't you have work to do"?
"That's harsh bro. I came to see you. Why does it feel like you are chasing me away already".
"Leave Rick, and call me Nadia on your way out".
Derrick looked at him and gave him a mocking face while mimicking what his elder brother said.
"Ye Nayeye ye me".
"You don't want me throwing you out".
Jason said and Derrick immediately rushed out of the room.
On getting to the dining room, he saw Nadia seated exactly where they had left her.
"Hey, Nadia".
I heard my name and immediately stood up and turned to see who was calling me.
I noticed it was Mr Jason's brother Derrick.
"Yes sir".
Derrick waved his hand trying to tell her that the honorifics wouldn't be necessary.
"Oh please, just call me Derrick, or better still, you can call me Rick".
I bowed lightly but said nothing. I knew he was being nice but I was definitely not going to familiarize myself with this family. He was my owner's brother and that's all it'll ever be.
"My brother wants to see you in his study".
Derrick said and began walking away but then, I realized that I didn't know his study, and every maid that passed by looked at me with disdain and disgust. Some even made it look like I wasn't there at all.
I rushed after Derrick and held him by the hand.
Derrick was surprised when he felt her tiny fingers wrapped around his hand. He looked at her finger and then looked at her face.
I noticed that he wasn't expecting what I did so I immediately let go of his hand.
"I apologize for that, but I don't know his study. Can you please show me"?
Derrick smiled and nodded his head.
"Sure"
He then took me to Jason's study and when we got there, he left me by the door. I let out a huge sigh before knocking and going in.
When I got into his study, he was standing and looking outside the window. I must admit, he was a wonderful sight to behold.
His long legs were rested beautifully in his well-tailored suit pants. He had one of his hands in his pocket while the other was holding a glass of wine.
He looked mesmerizing even from behind.
He then turned and asked me to sit while he also sat.
When we were settled, he finally began to speak.
"I'll give you a week to learn all you need to know about being my personal assistant".
He then pressed a button and two ladies came in. One of them was part of the maids who came to my room earlier this morning and the second one looked more like an office working lady.
Jason looked at the maid and said.
"You'll be her personal maid, assist her in whatever she wants and when we are done here, show her to her room".
I was so shocked that I kept looking at him confused.
'Why am I getting a personal maid'?
'What's going on here'?
I couldn't help but think.
Jason then looked at the office lady and said.
"Hand over all the files and necessary documents she'll be needing to work as my PA".
They then bowed and walked out. I was still looking at the ladies as they left when I heard him speak again.
"That's your job".
