"Your ears are going to be destroyed by the courtmen when we return," Hazel said, having a feeling there was going to be an angry group of men waiting for them at the door. "Are you sure it's okay for you to leave the palace, Tobias? You didn't need to for me."
Hazel could have called upon Linda who was now back in town or called for the duchess to pay a visit to the palace. If Tobias was going to be bothered for bringing her here, Hazel would rather them just stay in the palace. She didn't want to add to his troubles.
Tobias stepped closer to Hazel to touch her arms. He rubbed her arms up and down, trying to cheer her up. "I am the king, Hazel. They can be upset all they want but I do not care. You haven't exactly been happy these days when your friends aren't in the palace. I want to see you happy again so don't even think of the palace."
