Chapter 5: The Hand Appears Two
Flying in the air as Jetray, Ben looked down at the city of New York with all the glistening lights. In his Jetray transformation he had a black and green tight flight suit, with a few white straps under his fines all the way down to his green blet.
Ben took his time to enjoy the sensation of flying through the air. As he flu towards Hell Kitchen rapidly, the in Marvel comics Hell's Kitchen is like a mini Gotham. It was a territory where many gangs conduct illegal business.
Held meetings and fought over territories, from what Ben could remembered Kingpin also known as Wilson Fisk. Ran most of the criminal underworld across New York City. Arriving in Hells Kitchen Ben landed on the rooftop of a apartment building tapping on the Omnitrix symbol, he turnef back into hi human.
" Olivia, tap into any frequency nearby and locate any that seems suspicious. " Said Ben as he looked around his surroundings. He could still see relatively well thanks to all the lights. Across the building except for few alley ways were he couldn't see anything from his location.
Ben could hear static sounds from his helmet internal headset. His helmet was pretty bare bones there wasn't any heads up display like Iron man. Since he wasn't wearing a armor suit that needed him to be aware of the internal operations constantly.
It would also be a little distracting when fighting for him in his human form. In the future it would have more function than protecting his head but, for now the most important other function it has is infred heat detection. The Omnitrix had its own internal computer and AI which he didn't have access to at the moment.
He wasn't sure how extensive the Omnitrix A.I computer is but, he was confident enough that he could unlock those functions if he tried. He doubted Azmuth would put too many fail safe on this function. " Well, maybe I should ask first before doing something rash. "
Ben thought to himself, recalling all the times Ben or someone else tried to hack into the Omnitrix.
After scanning the rooftops he began sprinting across the rooftops. It was a good chance to practice his parkour and acrobatic skills. Running off the roof of the building he was on, doing a frontal summer sult while completing two front flips in the air. Landing on the opposite building rooftop in a barrel roll.
Honestly the landing was a little hard due to his inexperience in parkour, which he had only been practicing for three months. As he stood up feeling the slight aching pain from back.
" Sir there seems to be chatter on a particular frequency, many of the people seem to be talking in code. "
Hearing this intrigued him, was there going to be something big going to happening tonight, especially this early into the night.
" Sir, it seems from my observation that there going to be sum sort of raid on a particular group. I've already picked up the location, as well as the time. The the attack is planed to take place. "
" What time is it going down. " Asked Ben in a serious tone.
" In approximately two to one hour from now, it seems multiple groups are still moving towards the location."
" Have you identified if they might be law enforcement." Asked Ben. " Yes, they seem to be a group of hired men and are bent in eliminating and living none alive.
Ben thought about it serious if he should intercept each group or investigate the situation more. If Ben is a true hero who had a rule about their being absolutely no killing. He would have to try intercepting all the groups heading towards the location.
Than interrogated them to find out whoever was ordering this attack. Or he could wait for the attack to happen and allow all parties to get into a fight than being jis own attack. Which could lead to both opposing groups to having multiple casualties in the pursuing fight.
Ben had been contemplating what type of hero he wanted to be. If he could prevent any lives being lost he should try his very best to do so. Otherwise he would become an anti-hero who strolled the lines between good and evil.
Well this was the Marvel Universe where most heroes don't have qualms about killing if all else fails. With the exception of characters like Spider-Man and Daredevil who have a strict no kill rule.
Ben himself didn't want to make killing his first opposition. "Olivia, keep listening in on the conversation. We can't rash into things without good awareness of what's exactly going on. "
" Sure thing boss." Replied Olivia in a slightly excited tone. Ben hearing how she answered him, he smiled as it seemed she would start developing her own personality very soon.
Ben began running towards the nearest frequency. In the meantime as Ben ran a top the rooftops in a black Range Rover, a man wearing black suit spoke to a woman. As another group of vehicles trails behind them.
" It seems Rose along with other crime lords aren't to happy about the new group in town. Anyway what do we have on this newcomers?" Asked a black man who was well built and had a fade hair cut. As his image was reflected on a small monitor that was attached to the roof of the vehicle.
" All we know is that they called themselves the Hand. And they are firmly well established across Japan and it seems Kingpin has been helping them to quickly establish themselves here too. Many of the crimes lords territory have been taken over by them over the past six months. "
Hearing his subordinate words the well built black man, a crime boss who went by the name Bushmaster and ran Maggia also known as the Five Families. Which was an international crime syndicate that originated around the 13th century in southern Europe (mostly Italy) under the influence of Satannish, which expanded throughout Europe and the Americas.
Were not involved with any subversive activities. Entering the United States they eventually ended up controlling most of the nation's loan-sharking, illegal gambling, and narcotics. Protection rackets and prostitution were also very important to the Maggia.
It has consisted of many "families", all of which are independent of each other. They usually didn't cooperate much less coordinate with each other, though they normally agreed not to interfere with each other.
Within the Maggia, bloodlines were usually valued more than brains. In Europe, the most powerful Maggia leaders are members of the Commission Internationally, a few Maggia chieftains have risen to dominance over the other Maggia families.
Bushmaster himself over the years has crawled his way to the position of head of the European Maggia. Had has been trying hard to grow his influence here in the States however, Wilson Fisk commonly known as Kingpin in the criminal underworld.
Basically controlled all the criminal groups across the United States. However, the fact that his own territory had been taken over by this new group. Affecting his own business operations in the process is absolutely unexceptable. They had a deal with Kingpin over territory dispute and business dealing throughout the city.
However, Fisk seemed more then pleased to disregard their agreement. In favor of this newly arrived group who seemed to have long since infiltrate the States long before this. It's only in the past six months that he along with other crime syndicate have become aware about this new group.
" How long till the plan attack on their base. " Asked Bushmaster in a serious tone his eyes quinting.
" Thirty minutes most of the other crime lords forces should be already there. " Said the woman looking at the time on her watch.
" You know I could have handled this myself with just my own subordinate if you trusted me more. " Said the woman.
" This is an important issue, besides I don't plan to get to involved in matters if you can successfully negotiate with the other party." Explained Bushmaster with a smile finally looking at his most trusted subordinate. Wearing a black and white tight leather outfit with a copper, gold mask covering her face.
" Negotiations, huh.." Said the woman in a questioning tone.
" Intimidation we here to show them that we're not to be taken lightly. This is a simple warning they won't forget. Besides you think Fisk and the other crime syndicate went a gang war. That wouldn't be good for business would it now, this is just a small squabble. And I expect good news from you very soon. " Said Bushmaster before turning off the screen.
" Madam Masque we've arrived at our destination." Spoke the driver who had a long scare across his face.
" Good patch in with the other groups we attack in 20 minutes. " Said the woman who went by the name Madam Masque.
Meanwhile on a rooftop just across were the black Range Rover parked. Ben seat kneeling on one knee looking down as three men laid knocked out on the rooftop he was own.
" Well we can across out them being law enforcement. Olivia go through any criminal records or sources mentioning a woman by the name Madman Masque. " Said Ben in a serious tone.
" On it, Sir. " Replied Olivia.
This was going to be tough especially if The Hand was involved. From the conversation he over heard he could be for a fact be sure that this attack is aimed towards The Hand. He wasn't the biggest comic book reader having gotten into reading Marvel Comics for a reason he couldn't remember.
But he could be sure that he had already been spotted by one of there members. They were bona-fide real ninjas who were tried in the art of stealth and killing. And there is also the fact that most criminal crime groups either had a superpower individual or high tech weaponry.
This is usually the case for powerful criminal groups in comic books. He had been hoping he would be able to take on multiple opponents in his human form, while the Omnitrix entered recharge mode.
The advantage being that most criminal syndicate members won't highly trained unlike the Hands members. ' I'll have to go in when the attack starts, I should probably connect law enforcement which I doubt will yelled much. Most likely most have been already paid off since a big attack is going down tonight. '
Thought Ben as he waited for the show to begin. No longer confident about his chances of fighting in his human form, if the battle doesn't come an end. Before the Omnitrix went into recharge mod.
