Chapter 7: Dinning with the Valkyres.
"Devour!!!"
Luminis yelled, his arms wrapped around Alpha's waist, while his feets scraped the ground with the huge fireball charging towards him.
Wooooosh!!!
From his palm, came a rush of dark mist, spreading forth like webs, in a matter of seconds, the mist swallowed the fire ball whole, shrinking it into magic particles before it retracted back into his hand.
"W-What the?" Uttered the woman, her eyes widened in shock just from the scene that played out in front of her.
As soon as Luminis's fist closed, he released his hold around Alpha's waist, his hand gesturing in front of him for a water bow and arrow to form.
He aimed it at the girl, his eyes red and focused, ready to fire at her if she made even the slightest movement.
And then, came the sudden voice,
"Stand down… Nia." The female voice spoke,
Luminis eyes shifted to the side, where he could see a woman, dressed in a black dress, her black hair, packed to the front on falling on her chest.
Behind her, multiple other women followed, each one dressed having a completely different aura from the women he had just fought.
'Is she the one in charge? I completely acted on impulse, if they all decide to gang up on me, I don't think I can win, especially if I'm protecting Alpha too'.
Luminis thought to himself, his eyes still widened in alert,
"Young man, I apologize for my subordinates' misconduct, it's going to be dark soon, please, allow me to treat you to dinner, my way of paying you for the trouble we've caused." The woman spoke with a stern expression on her face.
Luminis was quiet for a while, contemplating whether he could trust them or not, especially considering one of them just attacked him out of nowhere.
"You need not fret, none of my subordinates will lay a hand on you and your beast kin, you have my word." The woman reassured him.
Grrrrrr!
Alpha who was standing just beside him had her stomach rubble, which she immediately held with her hands before looking at Luminis.
He sighed,
"Sure…but…" Luminis glared, "If you even try to make a move on me, I won't hesitate to kill you".
"I understand." The woman responded, turned around and began to walk away.
And thus, both Luminis and Alpha made their way inside the village, their guard up the whole time with every step they took.
Once they were in the village, the women offered them a room they could spend the night, and a bathhouse plus new clothes for them to get dressed in.
"Uhnm…master, how does this look?"
Luminis, who was sitting on the futon in the room, suddenly turned his gaze to the entrance of the room to see Alpha walking in, dressed in a completely different get up.
She was dressed in a black top with black shorts that sqeeezed the side of her thighs, her rough hair was now straight and relaxed, her skin was cleaner too, making her even prettier than she was before.
"Did you accidentally get named again?" Luminis blurted out.
"Uhn? What are you talking about?" Alpha uttered with her head tilted to the side.
"Nothing, just hurry up and come in here."
"Okay!"
With slight giggles, Alpha closed the door behind her, and laid on the futon, her arms and legs relaxed.
'Aril, what are my chances of winning a fight if I went up against the leader here?' Luminis asked,
[Chances of winning based of mana scan is 87%, other unique and ultimate skills are not involved, and I am currently unable to collect that information]
'I see…' Luminis fell flat on his back, 'I just have to thug it out until tomorrow morning, that's to say if they don't attack me before then'.
Suddenly, he felt Alpha climb on top of him, her butt sitting on his crutch and both her hands resting on his chest with her face close to his.
"What are you doing?" Luminis inquiried, a demoralized expression on her face.
"Scent marking."
"Scent marking?"
"Yes, Alpha is leaving her scent on you so these women here don't get any weird ideas," Alpha replied, rubbing her cheeks on his chest.
"Alpha?"
"Hm?"
"Anyone ever told you, you are quite over protective?" Luminis uttered.
"No, Alpha has been alone all her life." She responded instantly, her face now very close to Luminis to the point where he could feel her breath on his face.
"Makes sense."
Paa!
The door to the room suddenly slid open and standing at the entrance, was a girl with blue long hair,
She stood still at the entrance, watching as both Luminis and Alpha stared at her at the same time.
"Uhm… I came to inform you that dinner… is ready." The girl spoke, her voice cracking with each word.
"Oh sure, we'll be there." Luminis replied.
"O-Okay." The girl turned around and closed the door, before she rested her back on it, a glaring stare on her face as she muttered.
"I knew this man could not be trusted, he's just like the test… Lady benihime is too kind, I have no choice but to handle this myself".

After a few minutes, both Luminis and Alpha left the room and headed towards the dining room.
It was in a rectangular shaped room, with small tables all around the room and pillows on the ground where all the women sat.
Although, the women in the room were only seven in number, which was much lower than the number of women Luminis had counted on his way in.
"I see you came, please, have a seat." The leader of the Valkyries, Benihime Hindra, spoke, her black hair once falling to her front was now packed in a ponytail.
"Well my partner and I are starving." He replied.
"Help yourself".
Luminis sighed after scanning the faces of everyone in the room, "Thank you for having him," He replied.
With a few steps, Luminis arrived in front of Benihime, and slowly he settled to the ground, his food placed in front of him, ready to be eaten.
