Chapter 17: ch 17
After deciding to go to the event Carl first had to notify the school he would miss a couple days cause the event landed on a Friday. so he decided to take the Thursday and Friday off school to attend. The school didn't mind because Carl does extremely well in school and hasn't missed a day.
The next time Carl was at school he informed Peter and Ned that he wouldn't be at school on those days. When they asked on why, Carl told them he was invited to the event hosted by stark industry's in LA and how he owned 10% in their stocks, cause he didn't think it was that big of a deal anyway and they would most likely find out at some point anyway. They both had shocked expressions and couldn't help but ask how that came to be. Carl told them that when the stock of stark started to drop he thought it would be a good investment so he went for it. Both Peter and Ned nodded to carls explanation but couldn't help but have faces of worry for their friend's investment due to the state of stark industry's at the moment. Carl couldn't help but smirk at their expressions cause Carl already knew how things would turn out.
Time passed and it was now Wednesday night before the event Carl had his car ready to go. He didn't have any one to invite so he will be going by himself. He made sure to take his lightsaber, modified clone wrist gauntlet, and his personal portable shield. Carl was leaving HK at home because he would bring to much attention. He was taking his car because he didn't want to deal with airports and he has a flying car so of cores he is going to use it. After driving out of his house and getting a good distance away Carl pressed the button that made the car go into flight mode and he took off.
After a nights flight Carl could see LA in the distance, so he found a lone road with no cars or buildings going into LA. He maneuvered onto it and put the car back into normal drive mode and went into LA. After getting a hotel room for a few nights Carl didn't really have anything to do till the event the next day. He did toy with the idea of going to stark industry's and maybe getting a tour but decided against it thinking getting a tour wouldn't accomplish anything. So till the event started Carl did the homework he was assigned for missing two days.
Time passed and it was time for the event. Carl got dressed in the black suit he bought for this occasion. His portable shield was acting as a belt buckle and his lightsaber was hidden under his suit coat. He also had his wrist gauntlet on under his sleeve. Looking you wouldn't know he had those equipment on him. He decided to walk seeing as the hotel he was at wasn't that far and he didn't want to deal with going down that red carpet.
Getting to the event Carl could see all the reporters crowding the red carpet with celebrities and influential figures being dropped off in their cars. Carl avoided the reporters getting to the front where he presented his ticket. As he was being let in a commotion was happening by the street. When Carl looked back he could see Tony stark getting out of his car where a valet took it for him. Tony could then be seen walking up to obidia stain and having word with him. Carl didn't observe too much after that going into the building.
carl wandered around the hall with few people interacting with him due to his age. Carl found himself at the bar drinking a non alcoholic drink due to his age again. He was starting to get bored. He thought it would be more fun but this kind of thing wasn't really for him.
As he was hanging around someone came up next to him and ordered from the bar tender a scotch. Carl didn't pay it no mind till he hear another man say, "Mr stark?" When Carl heard the name he discretely looked over and there was Tony stark and Phill Colson from shield. Tony acknowledged Colson so he continued, " agent Colson." He introduced himself to stark what look like a second time.
Stark replies, "oh ya ya ya the guy from the eh…" he couldn't finish because he didn't remember.
Agent Colson finishes for him, " strategic Homeland intervention enforcement logistics division." He said in one breath.
Tony lets out a breath of exasperation, "you uh gotta get a new name for that."
Colson smiles, "ya i hear that a lot. Listen, I know this must be a trying time for you, but we need to debrief you. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, and time could be a factor with these things. Let's put something on the books. How about the 24th at 7 pm at Stark industries?"
Tony not even paying attention as he is eyeing his secretary pepper Potts replies with his hand out for a handshake, "tell you what. You got it, you're absolutely right. We'll uhh.. I'm ah going to go to my assistant and make a date.." and he walks off to his assistant how he then forgets to make an appointment and starts dancing with her. Carl can see Colson staring daggers at Tony and couldn't help but smile in amusement.
Carl not seeing any reason to stay decided to call it and started heading back home. As he was leaving Carl didn't notice Colson watch him leave wondering why someone of carls age would be at an event like this. After getting back to the hotel he packed up all his stuff, got in his car and got out of LA under night fall. As he arrived back at New York the following morning, he didn't realize he just became a small interest to shield just due to his presence.
