Chapter 48: Stealing

A few seconds passed and he continued to watch all three scientists working on trying to find relatively useful information about this supernatural rock coming from the rifts of space.

As they put all their focus into their research, he quietly snook up on the one furthest away and carefully took him up using pressure points located near the neck.

Placing the unconscious body on the ground carefully, he then once again moves towards the nearest worker. Doing the same for the other two.

By the time it was only him in the facility, he had less than thirteen minutes remaining out of his original fifteen.

The rune was sealed inside a bulletproof glass that protected anyone from the mana that leaked from it.

For anyone who is exposed to mana long-term before their body can properly cultivate, it would end up bringing more harm than good.

Opening the door, he wasted no time before placing the meteorite-shaped rune inside his durable bag.

Although picking it up he realized the rune was much heavier than he remembered.

He quickly thought it must be because of the power level difference from the first time he touched his first rune.

Placing the rune, the size of a basketball inside the bag, he wasted no time making his way out.

As he approached the exit of the facility, he stopped in his tracks as he saw a familiar face in front of him.

[ why is he still here] he thought to himself visibly annoyed at the coincidence.

Normally the route he chose to use as his escape had this guard who would be changing to go off-duty but, in this case, it seems he was working double shifts today.

Turning his head around, the guard saw a fast-approaching black figure.

Caught off guard for a moment, he immediately pulled out his gun.

However, with how fast Liam was approaching he didn't even have the chance to fire his rifle as Liam immediately stopped the guard in his tracks.

Anticipating he had no chance; he abandoned his rifle in Liam's hands and was about to yell to alert the others.

Unannounced to him, all his moves fell under Liam's predictions the moment he charged towards him.

Before he could utter even a word, Liam grabbed him by his jaw, and with no hesitation, he dislocated it.

With a dislocated jaw, he started to scream in pain but all that came out of his ugly mouth were groans.

Intending to kill the guard, he grabbed him by the neck and raised him in the air.

If one were to see what he had accomplished, they'd become confused as to how he was able to raise a person twice his body weight.

Looking into Liam's dark abyssal eyes, the guard was filled with fear, yet to free himself from his strong grip he started to violently resist but all to no avail.

Liam was like an unshakable mountain refusing to budge even a little.

As the guard's act of resistance started to settle down, his face started to turn from red to purple, and in no time, foams started leaving his mouth.

He threw the dead body to the side while walking back to pick up the bag he dropped before his march.

As he walked near the body with the rune on his back, he felt a stinging pain on the arm where the guard scratched him.

Stopping in his tracks, he sighed in irritation at how much time he had wasted on this stupid body than necessary.

Kicking the body, he tried to get a sense of satisfaction.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

As he made it out of the crash site, he finally felt satisfied with how he performed this operation.

Smiling he thought [ Keke! Ye Chan wait how the whole world would be looking for you]

With how he acted in front of the cameras, everyone who saw the video would associate him with Ye Chan due to how identically both people behaved.

However, that would only happen once they could get acquainted with him in the future, as he is a nobody right now.

Glancing on his wrist, he started to quickly move towards his vehicle that he hid some distance away.

Only about two minutes remained on his watch.

And when the timer runs out, high-volume alarms he set up would go off around the whole proximity of the area.

While everyone would be far too busy dealing with the oncoming swarms of undeads, he would already be far gone.

Rune was the only source that stopped undeads from running amok and with that gone who knows how they would make it out in one piece.

Not like he cared to begin with.

Approaching the broken building, he walked towards the secret place hiding Enigma.

Somehow relieved it was there, he picked it up, and miraculously the sword didn't absorb his vitality.

It was odd how the sword was no longer behaving disobediently however he already guessed something like this would happen.

The sword knew she was close to a higher form of existence and could no longer compete. if she did so her whole existence could be eradicated.
