Chapter 23: Dark Sea Seed Of Origin

Bold ideas swelled in Tucker's mind.

First of all, Tucker had obtained the true name and the method of the ritual dedicated to the "God of the Dark Sun" from Eden Gladstone.

Given the presence of the altar, specifically designed for the God of the Dark Sun, Tucker was, in essence, qualified to make sacrifices to this deity.

It was clear that Tucker couldn't take away the Dark Sun projection deposit, as that presented its own set of issues. Instead of leaving it behind for the Dark Sun Church to exploit, Tucker considered consuming it himself. After all, offerings from the God of the Dark Sun should be relatively safe.

With this decision in mind, Tucker retrieved Bashamu's second-order hunter extraordinary crystal, which had been stripped of its energy.

"As I arrived here empty-handed, I suppose I shall offer you!" he declared to the inanimate crystal.

Tucker ascended the small, bloodstained steps of the altar. As he climbed, a swirling, bloody grey mist enveloped him, and a whirlwind began to form.

In the midst of this, Tucker felt as though a watchful eye resided within the dark black sun.

"Feel free to watch! After all, I am Eden Gladstone, the Hunter Gang's bloody alchemist," Tucker defiantly stated. He had not yet removed Eden Gladstone's disguise and intended to utilize the remaining energy to the fullest.

Upon reaching the pinnacle of the altar, the whirlwind ceased, and the eerie sensation of being observed faded. Tucker carefully placed Bashamu's hunter sequence crystal on the altar, now dark and tainted with a hint of bloodline power.

He then began to chant in a hushed voice:

"The great master above the ashes!

The Immortal who rules the Dark Sun Dimension!

The eternal God of the Dark Sun!

Your most devout believer, I pray to you!

I am willing to dedicate everything I have hoarded.

Pray for the spring pool from the original dimension!"

Despite repeating this prayer several times, the deity atop the altar remained unresponsive. Tucker wasn't surprised; after all, great gods weren't like customer service personnel, instantly responding to every plea.

Tucker knew it would take numerous prayers, dozens, perhaps even hundreds, to elicit a response. And if anyone thought that was too much, it was a clear sign of insufficient faith and blasphemy.

So, he continued to pray, again and again.

Tucker had practised magic tirelessly, repeating spells, gestures, and movements hundreds and even thousands of times during his solo magical pursuits. Standing at the altar and uttering low chants was comparatively straightforward.

After a dozen rounds of prayer...

Woo hoo hoo...

The bloody whirlpool resurfaced, swallowing Tucker's offering, the hunter's crystal. Simultaneously, the black sun transformed into a dense black mist, carried away by the wind whirl and swiftly ascending into the sky. It seemed as though an enormous abyssal crack had opened, devouring everything in its path.

Tucker sensed the dispersal of the sacrifice's power, and most of it had been absorbed by the God of the Dark Sun, which was to be expected. However, what caught his attention was the unusual sight.

A small portion of the power didn't follow the typical course of sacrifice. Instead, it branched off along two distinct veins. Tucker's keen perception sprang into action, following these two veins deeper and deeper, although as they extended, his perception became increasingly distorted. In the end, he couldn't follow the veins to their conclusion but gleaned some insights nonetheless.

Tucker remained still on the small altar for quite some time before opening his eyes and focusing on the item granted by the God of the Dark Sun.

It was an object about the size of an pigeon egg, resembling a deep blue droplet, reminiscent of the colour of the sea. Faintly, Tucker could hear the soothing sound of waves lapping against a shore.

A seed.

Mysterious information flooded Tucker's mind, and he rubbed his eyebrows in contemplation.

"The adaptability of [Accuracy] within my wizard ecology is expanding," Tucker mused. "Even in my field of vision, it can trigger a slight sense of touch. If this keeps up, I'll know what someone had for breakfast!"

Tucker held the faint blue seed in his palm. Not understanding it wasn't an issue; touching it would help him comprehend its nature.

[Dark Sea Seed of orgin]

Note: Seeds that aid in unlocking the Origin Dark Sea!

"Origin Dark Sea!" Tucker exclaimed, his eyes narrowing into a thin line, filled with excitement. "I was merely trying it out, but I didn't expect to stumble upon such a rare treasure. The God of the Dark Sun truly exists! This is a real amazing!"

With his fingers gently exploring this Dark Sea Seed of origin, Tucker felt a joy he had never experienced before.

Typically, the larger the source energy pool possessed by an extraordinary individual, the better. Under normal circumstances, this is the case. However, in this peculiar world teeming with intricate and extraordinary ecosystems, ideals often collide with harsh realities.

An extraordinary person with a source pool significantly surpassing their level could easily fall victim to phenomena like the "world tide," "source energy resonance," or "regional source tide." For instance, when the "undertide of ashes" arrived in the land of ashes, a level 20 transcendent with a level 30 source pool would encounter minor challenges in channelling source energy but wouldn't face danger. However, if someone possessed a level 40 source pool, working with source energy would become arduous and potentially perilous. With a level 50 source pool, the resonance of their source pool with the source of ashes could lead to the gruesome death of the extraordinary individuals, torn apart in the process.

Yet, if an extraordinary person possessed the "Dark Sea of Source Energy"...

That's a completely different story.

The Source Energy Dark Sea operates independently from external influences. Even if one possesses a vast "Source Energy Dark Sea," it remains impervious to the outside world. Acquiring a substantial "Dark Sea of Source Energy" is the dream of every spell-based extraordinary individual. It signifies that they can significantly expand their source pool without being influenced by external factors.

What Tucker obtained wasn't just the typical "source energy" dark sea but the Dark Sea of Origin. This is a level beyond the ordinary Source Energy of the Dark Sea.

"The recovery capacity of the Dark Sea of Origin far surpasses that of the Source Energy Dark Sea, and its upper developmental limits exceed those of the Source Energy Dark Sea," Tucker noted. "The only challenge lies in opening it up."

"This small Dark Sea of Origin seed might not be enough to unlock a substantial reservoir," he continued. "But with my precise guidance, it can make a difference. For others, expanding it further would be difficult, but for me, I can accommodate an infinite amount of source energy experience with the Source Dark Sea."

Tucker carefully stored the Dark Sea Seed of origin and surveyed his surroundings.

"The two threads I just followed likely lead to significant locations within the Church of the Dark Sun in the city-state of Larmore Tower, possibly Bashamu's online presence," Tucker deduced. "By disrupting the sacrifices accumulated by Bashamu, I've disrupted their rhythm and purpose."

"The other parties may have sensed this as well," he surmised. "It's not advisable to linger here for an extended period."

With that, Tucker swiftly departed from the Hunter Gang stronghold.
