Chapter 1: Mysterious Egg

Snap!

In the tranquil gardens of Yusheng Holy Land, Li Xianwei, named humorously as the "Great Immortal" for plucking fruits, was immersed in a seemingly modest errand that concealed the grandeur of his destiny. Under the canopy of a Jadeheart Peach tree, his deft fingers plucked ripe fruits, showing off his "immortal" plucking skills to anyone who cared to watch.

Li Xianwei had been assigned with an array of errands, from menial to significant, as an outer disciple. His spiritual aptitude had been far from exceptional, but his resilience was second to none. Nonetheless, the story of Li Xianwei was destined to transcend the confines of the orchard, as he embarked on a path that would etch his name into the annals of greatness.

A year had passed since Li Xianwei joined the sect as an outer disciple, standing at the Advanced Foundation Establishment stage. His friends had quickly progressed to the rank of inner disciples and probably have a spiritual energy swirl in their dantian already. Among them was Zhuang Xiaolong, who had become an inner disciple a few months ago. Wu Qianzhi, another outer disciple and Li Xianwei's friend, was still striving to reach the Qi Condensation stage, much like Li Xianwei himself.

Despite these challenges, Li Xianwei, now the oldest and wealthiest among the outer disciples, decided to celebrate their friendship by treating Wu Qianzhi to a sumptuous meal at the Harmony Haven Tavern.

Li Xianwei sat alone at a corner table in the bustling Harmony Haven Tavern. The aroma of delectable dishes filled the air, and the chatter of fellow cultivators provided a lively backdrop to the cozy establishment. As he sipped on fragrant tea, Li Xianwei waited for his friend Wu Qianzhi to arrive. He'd chosen a table by the window, which afforded a view of the street outside.

Unbeknownst to Li Xianwei, Wu Qianzhi entered the tavern, his eyes scanning the crowd for his friend. It didn't take long for his gaze to lock onto Li Xianwei, who sat in patient anticipation by the window.

"Li Xianwei!" Wu Qianzhi called.

"Ah, Wu Qianzhi, fashionably late as always, I see!"

Wu Qianzhi settled into his seat, his playful grin directed at Li Xianwei. "Well, Xianwei," he remarked, "you know, arriving fashionably late adds that touch of drama to any occasion." As he spoke, the atmosphere seemed to lighten, providing a brief moment of respite from the rumors swirling around them.

Li Xianwei leaned in, a mock-serious expression crossing his face. "Have you also heard, Wu Qianzhi?" he inquired. "Rumor has it that some cultivators from Xianji Holy Land and Shenlin Holy Land are engaging in heated battles. The air's been thick with tension lately, and it looks like skirmishes are becoming a regular occurrence."

Wu Qianzhi nodded gravely, his expression mirroring the seriousness of the situation. "Yes, I've heard the whispers as well. It's a precarious situation for all cultivators, as conflicts between major powers often lead to chaos and uncertainty."

During their meal, Wu Qianzhi shared a new development in his life with Li Xianwei. "I've taken on a blacksmithing apprenticeship," he revealed. "I've started learning from a seasoned 4-star blacksmith. Now, I can proudly say I've become a blacksmith!"

"That's an interesting path to take," Li Xianwei commented. "I'm sure you'll forge an exciting future. We can discuss it further on our way to the market. I've been eager to explore it for a while now. Who knows what exciting things we might come across?"

As they strolled through the bustling market, a new vendor's stall stood out among the others. It showcased an assortment of low-tier magical items, with an enticing display of talismans, storage rings, and cooling Arrays. This particular vendor had a rather unusual demeanor, constantly looking up at the sky, which drew the attention of passersby.

Li Xianwei's attention wavered for a moment, particularly when he came across a familiar protective barrier talisman, crafted by renowned blacksmiths of the Fenghuang Enclave. He deliberated, contemplating the necessity of the purchase, especially considering that this talisman was known to shield its bearer from up to two hits by a Qi Condensation Level cultivator. Despite its impressive capabilities, he eventually decided to set it aside for now, deeming it not an immediate need.

However, his gaze soon locked onto the storage rings, capturing his interest. The decision to purchase one came swiftly, as the cost was a mere 100 gold coins, making it a budget-friendly alternative to a low-tier spiritual stone.

While Li Xianwei considered the options before him, the eccentric vendor's odd behavior continued to intrigue the onlookers. The vendor's frequent skyward glances added an air of mystery to his stall, leaving people curious about his motives.

As Li Xianwei examined the storage rings, his friend Wu Qianzhi, who had a knack for discovering the most unusual and intriguing items, noticed a peculiar egg resting on a corner of the vendor's stall. Its iridescent sheen was simply too captivating to ignore.

Wu Qianzhi nudged Li Xianwei and pointed at the egg. "Xianwei, look at that magnificent egg! It's like nothing I've ever seen before."

Li Xianwei's attention briefly shifted from the storage rings to the mysterious egg, and he couldn't help but be captivated by its otherworldly appearance. "It's quite remarkable, isn't it?" he mused, "But what do you think it is, Wu Qianzhi?"

Just as their interest in the peculiar egg grew, the vendor, who had been watching them closely, couldn't contain his excitement any longer. With a flourish of his hand, he exclaimed, "Ah, my fine sirs, you've got an eye for quality, I see! That there is no ordinary egg. It's a Spiritual beast egg from the far-off lands of Fenghuang Enclave!"

Li Xianwei and Wu Qianzhi exchanged intrigued glances. Wu Qianzhi leaned in and asked, "A Spiritual beast, you say? What kind of creature does it hatch into?"

The vendor leaned in and remarked, "You see, it's a magnificent, sky-soaring Sky Eagle. This unassuming little egg holds the power to connect you with the vast expanse of the heaven"

Wu Qianzhi couldn't help but marvel at the egg's mysterious allure, his curiosity piqued by the vendor's enigmatic description.

With a newfound sense of wonder, Li Xianwei and Wu Qianzhi decided to seize the opportunity. Wu Qianzhi handed over the coins to the enthusiastic vendor, who couldn't believe his luck. Li Xianwei carefully placed the enigmatic egg into the storage ring they had just purchased.

They had long since left the market when a sudden commotion erupted. The sky above darkened, and a colossal shadow cast itself over the market.
