Chapter 68: Car Goes Boom! and Beep Beep, Wee-woo Ensues

As lunch was about to end, Lila and I followed Zari to the next class and then the two after that. She pretty much ignored us, and we didn't engage in any conversations. However, just because we didn't, didn't mean others weren't. We had a total of six classes a day, and by the fourth one, some people started to notice and have suspicions. By the sixth, no one had suspicions anymore.

Even if Zari wasn't popular because of talking to people and having friends, her pretty face was. Add to that Lila and me, the three of us taking seats together repeatedly, were noticed.

Although Lila was the one sitting next to her, some people began to speculate that Lila kept sitting there because I liked Zari and wanted to be between us. Others thought Lila liked her, and some even believed Lila was my younger sister trying to help Zari and me get together.

I have no clue how they think Lila and I are related; we look nothing alike. However, I know rumors about why people do what they do need no logic.

The bell rang, and I took the textbook from Lila, throwing it in the black backpack with the rest. I stood up, stretched my back, and yawned. Picking up the backpack, I waited for Lila to stand. Zari left, and we again followed her out of the building, but there were several people between us.

As the day's classes ended, we left the building and started our walk to the parking lot where we parked.

A pompous rich guy in fancy obnoxious clothes suddenly stepped in front of us shortly before reaching the parking lot, "I'll say this once, stay away from Zari."

This guy, Zari has already been claimed by me. If he really want to die I can help him along.

I looked at him, thinking another ant wants to die, "And here's the part where you tell me why."

He snorted, "Why should I tell you reasons you need to do something? You don't deserve her. I'm warning you, stay away."

By this time, others had begun to gather. I didn't reply and just looked at him with a bored expression. The awkward silence permeated the air between us.

After a bit, he spoke again, "I said something to you! Answer!"

"I'll do whatever I want. You still haven't told me a reason I should listen to you."

"A kid like you probably can't figure it out; I told you to do something. If you don't, bad things might happen to you." He looked at Lila beside me and licked his lips, "Or others, she's a pretty girl."

"So you're threatening me?"

He looked pissed off I wasn't just agreeing and veins on his forehead throbbed, "Yes! You dumb f*ck! I had you looked up, your just a nobody."

I nodded, "Ok, if that's what you want to do. I've never worried about it when people do; they start having really bad luck."

We walked around him as he stood there fuming, then walked to his Bentley and got in.

We got in our car a dozen or so spaces away, and I used my divine sense to locate the guy's fuel tank under his car. Directly on top of it, I ignited the lesser energy and increased the temperature of the flame. The metal began to melt.

Boom!

A massive fireball rose into the air.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

His car burst into flames the instant he pressed the start button, and the cars to either side had their alarms set off.

His car doors suddenly locked, trapping him inside the burning car. It's really amazing all the things you can do with magic. He started yanking on the handle but was quickly running out of oxygen.

People were screaming, and many were trying to call for the fire department and ambulances. I'm sorry dispatchers for all the calls.

Nasty-smelling smoke rolled out from the blazing vehicle; it wasn't your nice wood smoke from a meat smoker. No, this was burning plastics, rubbers, and all kinds of flammable liquids used to run the car.

Seeing the door was locked, he tried crawling across the burning car, reaching for the handle on the other side. His fingers just brushed against it before he passed out from lack of oxygen.

Lila and I stood up in our seats, looking in the direction of the burning car, feigning shock and innocence.

I heard one of the people recording the incident whisper to his friend in shock, "This guys not kidding about bad luck..."

Wee-woo! Wee-woo! Wee-woo!

It took about two minutes for the police to arrive; it really is true they're only there for the paperwork. They immediately saw it was pointless to try and help the roasted body inside and started having everyone clear away, including us.

The fire department followed them in about 30 seconds later and got to work putting out the fire.

Pretty soon the scene was cordoned off, and other people arrived to start investigating. I was confident they would find a leak appeared in the top of the fuel tank and somehow ignited.

As for whether I was involved? Well, there were plenty of people filming our engagement earlier, and some cameras never left us till the car exploded. It proved my innocence. It's just bad luck.

Zari was standing on the edge of the parking lot near the university gate, staring at the commotion while also looking at her phone as we passed by. Nyla was sitting on the pillar that held up half of the gate.

I stopped the car next to her with her on the passenger side, and Lila leaned over her door towards her a little, "Want a ride?"

She glanced at us, "No thank you, you only have two seats. And is there a reason you keep following me?"

I started driving away, and Lila shouted back and giggled, "You're the only other good-looking person around; we have to stick together. And I told you, we met before!"

She frowned as she heard Lila's words but turned back to her phone. I saw she was texting mom and asking when she'd be there to pick her up.

We were out of the range of my divine sense before her phone received a reply, and I started thinking it would be nice if we could all drive to school together. After all, we'd be neighbors soon, it just made sense. I'm worried they aren't doing well, I'll have to help them invisibly if I can.

I was about to ask Elaria to get more cars but realized she was most definitely still dealing with what I told her to before, and I should have Alexis do it. No, I should have Nona do it; Luna needs less from her than Lila needs from Alexis.

We pulled into the hotel parking lot, and I began inscribing a jade slip with how to drive a car.

We took the elevator up and entered the penthouse at the same time as Rhonda was being let out by Alexis.

She saw us and smiled, "I'm sorry to disturb you; I just had to check what was happening with the countertop. I see it has already been replaced and looks good as new. Thank you."

I nodded, "No problem, they broke it, so I fixed it."

She nodded and got into the elevator to go down. I waved goodbye behind me.

I called for Nona, and she came out of the kitchen, "Yes, Master?"

"Please go buy another vehicle. I want it to have at least three seats and be nice looking but not too flashy like the one I got. Here is a card to pay with, and also a jade slip with how to drive."

She took the two items and read the information on the jade slip before giving it back to me, "I'll be back as soon."

She went out the door, and I gave the jade slip to Lila, "Give it to Luna next."

Lila read it while walking towards the living room where Luna was.

I decided to check on Elaria and called her phone, "How is everything going?"

"Very good Master; I've purchased all the houses in the neighborhood, including your old one. Your mother didn't have a very high price in mind when I first asked; she felt she should repay you. I didn't think you would want that and just gave her the average of what I gave the others who are staying in their homes. Most people didn't believe you'd let them stay and wanted quite a bit in case you didn't.

The demolition crew is on the way, and the architect is working on the drawings for the new mansion. I told him to make it so the living portion could be built first, then the pool and other not as necessary things."

"Good. I'll leave you to it. Also cast some sound suppression on my old house so the construction doesn't keep them awake."

"Yes Master, I'm glad you're happy."

I hung up and went into the living room where Alexis returned the jade slip; I'll have to have Elaria use it later.

Luna and Lila were squished together, watching a compilation of people making fools out of themselves on Luna's phone. I sat next to Luna, just content with everyone happy and being in their presence.

Nona had returned back sometime while they were watching, with a Dodge Jailbreak that could seat 5 people, the color was black and I thought it looked nice but not overly flashy.

It was almost a two-hour video, and they kept giggling and laughing at people getting hurt or just doing dumb things. Like rocks and bricks being returned to sender.

After it was finished, Luna tossed her phone on the coffee table and leaned against my shoulder, "Lila told me about Zari; I'll look forward to meeting her."

I pulled her onto my lap, "Oh? and what did that little pervert Lila tell you?"

She leaned against my shoulder, "She told me she's really pretty, she has blue eyes and brown hair like you. Her only bad feature is her being a little weak, but that would be changed."

"Oh, she didn't say anything else? Not that she wants another pretty girl to play with? You aren't worried she's going to replace you?" I said in a teasing tone.

She scoffed, "I don't care about that; that pervert would take as many pretty girls as possible trying to entertain you. I never have to worry about replacement."

Lila bust out indignant, "I am not a pervert! I just do my best to make sure he's taken care of!"

"Hmm, maybe you aren't. I guess wives who collect girls and touch them in ways that excite their husband so he f*cks them till they pass out aren't really perverts."

Luna giggled and grabbed the front of Lila's shirt, pulling her partly on top of her and whispered in her ear, "Just accept being a pervert; it's really a job that suits you."

Lila sneaked her hand under Luna's shirt, and her knee began pressing against my excited little brother, "Never."
